I'm sure there has been many threads on this already.. read this morning that Mary is the hot favorite for girl & Henry for a boy.
Love Mary hope they use it, Princess Mary nice, fresh & underused, would be nice for Mary to have a comeback. Alice next at 6/1, prefer Mary.

Oscar is popular with European royalty, Prince Oscar sounds nice although not typically British

SelkieUnderLand · 24/04/2018 19:41

No, they'd never choose an Irish name. Patrick perhaps? Not Oscar though, I can't see that.

SelkieUnderLand · 24/04/2018 19:45

Leo is lovely! A pope's name but as a short name for Leopold they might be allowed.

KateMiddletonsOtherMum · 24/04/2018 19:47

Gary. His name is Prince Gary

trueblueari · 24/04/2018 19:50

There is a King Leopold on Ben and Holly. He is the big gnome Grin
I don't know why but that's really tickled me, I'm sitting here giggling getting funny looks from DD.
Maybe they'll call him Thistle.

SelkieUnderLand · 24/04/2018 19:54

I wish they'd announce it! Did they announce George and Charlotte's names the day after their births?

TheDowagerCuntess · 24/04/2018 19:57

I'm pretty sure it was days after.

SelkieUnderLand · 24/04/2018 20:00

George's middle name is Louis so they've used that one up

trueblueari · 24/04/2018 20:02

They announced George and Charlotte's 2 days after the birth. So we should find out tomorrow!

Prince Oliver sounds ok

Or Prince Vince!

Don’t think the royals can use Oliver because of Oliver Cromwell.

SelkieUnderLand · 25/04/2018 07:16

Was oliver cromwell worse than Henry the 8th? yes I guess he was.

SelkieUnderLand · 25/04/2018 07:18

There's a Prince Vince well Prins Vincent, sounds wrong to me.

CatkinToadflax · 25/04/2018 10:47

I'm going with Arthur Philip Somethingorother....Philip would be a nod to Kate's family as well as Duke of Ed (I assume Pippa is actually Philippa, or if not, it's still a Philip-y sort of name).

King Leopold in Ben And Holly was hilarious - he was just the annoying big gnome with the Rinky Dinky Doo song for ages and then in one episode randomly produced his King Leopold crown from under his gnome hat! Brilliant! Grin

JustaLittlePrick · 25/04/2018 14:51

I wonder if they may re-use one of George's names? Alexander possibly? One of Prince Andrew's middle names is Edward.

eloisesparkle · 25/04/2018 15:18

Selkie was Oliver Cromwell worse than Henry VIII ?
The Irish would certainly think so. He and his army decimated parts of Ireland.
He is a reviled figure in Irish history.

dotdotdotmustdash · 25/04/2018 15:50

I vote Frederick Arthur James (Freddie).

Spartacunt · 25/04/2018 15:57

Has anyone suggested Tupac? Must be a front runner Grin

JustaLittlePrick · 25/04/2018 17:27

I'm really starting to suspect Alexander (even though it's one of George's names). Apparently William told someone at the Anzac service today that the baby has "a strong name".

I'm so curious.

Buxbaum · 25/04/2018 17:28

Betting has apparently been suspended on Alexander.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 25/04/2018 17:42

Is it not a bit odd to give a child a name already used for your eldest? It's not something I'd do.

JustaLittlePrick · 25/04/2018 17:44

Prince Andrew has Edward as one of his middle names.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 25/04/2018 17:45

I guess when you give children multiple middle names it does limit your options for future children.

JustaLittlePrick · 25/04/2018 17:46

And when you have such a small pool of names available to you.
