I'm sure there has been many threads on this already.. read this morning that Mary is the hot favorite for girl & Henry for a boy.
Love Mary hope they use it, Princess Mary nice, fresh & underused, would be nice for Mary to have a comeback. Alice next at 6/1, prefer Mary.

I've thought Alice or Arthur every time so I'm sticking with that.

MissEliza · 13/04/2018 21:48

Did you read the report that William accidentally let the sex of the baby slip? He said he was going to insist the baby was called Jack after some footballer then added 'or Jackie'.

Alice Victoria Caroline
Alice Victoria Frances
Alice Margarita Eleanore
Rose Theodora Eleanore
Cecilie Adelaide Rose
Mary Cecelia Rose
Mary Victoria Marguerite

Arthur Christian Philip
Albert Frederick Richard
Michael Frederick Albert
John Frederick Arthur
John Philip Arthur
John Christian Alfred

I wouldn't write off Michael. QE the Queen Mother had a brother Michael (and also brothers Patrick and Fergus...)

CatkinToadflax · 14/04/2018 08:56

Leopold! One of Queen Victoria’s sons. Grin

girlandboy · 14/04/2018 09:50

Angela would be an excellent choice! it's my name

Frazzled2207 · 14/04/2018 10:07

If Kate is going to breastfeed I do wonder about the practicalities of her going to the wedding.

cttontail · 14/04/2018 18:44

Why? Breastfeeding doesn't need to stop you doing anything. It would be great to have it promoted indeed. I think they have already got a press rule about not publishing her exposed breast, but there are ways to be more discreet than just whacking it out (though there's nothing wrong with this either and has been my preferred method).

auntyflonono · 14/04/2018 18:53

Phillip Arthur
Alice Matilda

mathanxiety · 14/04/2018 18:59

Angela would be an unusual name as top 100 names go but it was one of the Queen Mum's middle names. She had a sister Violet who died young - maybe too tragic..

Louis Mountbatten's full name was Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas.

Mary Helena Violet
Mary Theodora Violet
Mary Cecelia Violet

Annabel/Jacob

Cottontail

Because both my babies for the first weeks wanted to be attached to my boob pretty much constantly. I cannot imagine having had to leave them!

cttontail · 14/04/2018 20:50

Is the newborn not invited?

DanceDisaster · 14/04/2018 20:55

It probably depends on what the bridesmaids dress is like doesn’t it? Can’t imagine it being an off the peg number from Debenhams though, so I’m sure they’ll be able to fashion a dress which can accommodate breastfeeding.

Thebirthdayparty · 14/04/2018 22:33

Kate isn’t a bridesmaid though is she? I read she wouldn’t upstage MM by being a bridesmaid and another silly thing about it not being fitting that the future queen would wait on her ‘inferior’ but it was ok for Pippa as they were sisters.

Redyoyo · 14/04/2018 22:47

Princess Margaret's middle name was Rose, I think the queen would go for Rose.

Threeandabit · 14/04/2018 22:56

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts...

I don't think they would use Rose for that reason.

turnipfarmers · 14/04/2018 23:28

Henrietta?

BitOutOfPractice · 14/04/2018 23:34

Wouldn't Mary be considered a bit too Catholic for the daughter of the future head if the Church if England? I say this as an atheist republican Mary

applesandpears56 · 15/04/2018 01:03

Turnip - yes good idea. Could be called Etta as a nn - modern yet classic

Darn hadn’t considered religion re Mary when I better on it! I don’t think it’s that Catholic tho - Maria yes I think Mary ok though

JustaLittlePrick · 15/04/2018 01:04

They have previously chosen very safe, top 10 "everyman" names. I can't see them going too off piste this time.

toffee1000 · 15/04/2018 01:12

It'd look a little weird if they had George, Charlotte and Balonz for example. Had to get the MN favourite in there Grin

Vexatious · 15/04/2018 02:11

Clicked on this thread to say exactly that.

DanceDisaster · 15/04/2018 05:21

I didn’t think Kate was a bridesmaid for her sister either. I remember seeing photos her wearing a nude coloured dress and something on her head and helping with the flower girls and ushers. Didn’t think she did the whole bridesmaid bit, but could be misremembering.

octonaught · 15/04/2018 06:27

There’s not a huge selection of names, as Kate & William try to be as uncontroversial as possible. So I think Alice too with Caroline as a middle name. There is already a Princess Alexandra in the family.

No one ever mentions that Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles.

Looking at Kate’s bump, I am quite convinced she is having a boy.
Not so sure about Arthur. Apparently Prince Charles wanted it for William but Diana said no.
Not a lot of boys name choices. Michael as a middle name. Maybe one of the Scandinavian royal names like Christian. Frederick is nice but Prince Freddie, makes me think of Freddie Prinz junior

I think Meghan will have a bit more flexibility with her kids names, as they are likely to be “just” Lord & Lady. And there is talk that her title may be countess, rather than duchess. Although when Prince Phillip pops his clogs, Edward & Sophie will become Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh, so I don’t think they will let E & S outrank Harry and Meghan

BitOutOfPractice · 15/04/2018 06:56

Marys's "not too Catholic" applesandpears? I'm not sure how much more Catholic you can get!
