No reason they just make me feel funny!
Lighthearted- no offence meant.

You may not mean any offence but it is going to cause some.

NotaSnowflake · 26/02/2017 19:35

Guaranteed... (Sadly, as funny as some are!)

IamScarfaceClaw · 26/02/2017 19:37

Agree with PPs....but I submit 'jaiden/jayden' Wink

DramaAlpaca · 26/02/2017 19:37

I'm not in the least bit offended, but I happen to think all those names you mention are lovely.

We all have different tastes.

CaoNiMa · 26/02/2017 19:38

This will not go well.

However, the names "Callum" and "Tatum" make me cringe slightly. It's the "-um" ending.

plimsolls · 26/02/2017 19:40

Obviously this will cause offence. Not many people would enjoy reading that their own name or their child's name makes someone's toes curl. I'm not sure saying "lighthearted and not intending to cause offence" stops that from happening.

cauliwobbles · 26/02/2017 19:40

Jaiden
Jayden
Jacob
Caden
Cody-Lee
Reece
Alfie
Brittany
Brooke
Darcy
Ellie
Probably loads and loads more and any hyphenated name.

Woody67 · 26/02/2017 19:41

I'm not keen on surnames used as first names.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 26/02/2017 19:44

I hate my own name. I want to cringe every time someone uses it. I dislike the sound of it. It's a very common, classic name.

Railgunner1 · 26/02/2017 19:45

Jorja -- the spelling... just why?

Mrsknackered · 26/02/2017 19:47

Thought this may happen. Sorry! Just thought it's interesting how people's tastes differ.
I have seen my DCs names appear on threads before and people have disliked them.
Infact a PP on this has said she hates my sons name on a previous thread Grin

Chloe and Phoebe.

Plus any other non-phonetic names!

BoboBunnyH0p · 26/02/2017 19:47

Jessica and Natalie, but that's linked to the fact I was bullied by girls with those names. I've met some lovely Jessica's and Natalie's over the years but I still feel awful when I hear those names.

Doublejeopardy · 26/02/2017 19:48

Madison, Harrison, Lacey, Tarquin,

JujuMonster · 26/02/2017 19:54

Shelby - absolutely no idea why though

Alice also gets me, but I think it's because I experience synesthaesia that links colours (and occasionally tastes) to names, and Alice is a "yellow" name that tastes sour to me. Go figure.

On a similar note, I particularly like names beginning with R and J as these are brown and blue colour names that just look nice to me.

Hmm
Rockaby · 26/02/2017 19:56

Hainault I used to hate my name too and would even blush sometimes when I introduced myself. I still prefer my nicknames to my full name if I'm honest, but I have lately started to really like my name. Possibly that's because I think it's come back into fashion recently, which just shows how bloody fickle I am!

Re the OP, I'm not keen on strange spellings, (unless there is a particular reason for it), or 'cute' hyphenated girl names, but each to their own etc. I wouldn't say they make my toes curl or anything. They just aren't to my taste.

Madbengalmum · 26/02/2017 19:57

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/02/2017 19:59

Agree, Tatum and Natalie.
This won't go down well, apologies in advance 😬

Lydia, Georgia and Amelia.

midsomermurderess · 26/02/2017 19:59

Emily, it is so wishy washy, Libby, so twee and generally names picked so as to give a predetermined nickname.

JonSnowsWhore · 26/02/2017 19:59

Double funnily enough the name Harrison makes my toes curl too. Mainly because I don't ever stop having to screech it out at my arsehole child 50,000 times a bloody day & I am now sick of the name 😂

JujuMonster · 26/02/2017 19:59

Seth

Starting to see a few little Seth's pop up around here. It just lacks substance.

I've got a lot of love for Darcy though which has already been mentioned here twice. Just shows its each to there own!

ShoutOutToMyEx · 26/02/2017 20:02

My name is one of the ones you've listed in your OP.
