Not many people like my sons name. The last 2 lists were the most recent ones.

I shouldn't have been allowed it because I didn't put the full version on his BC according to a PP 🙄

I don't like these threads. People are all different, how boring would life be if all liked the same things....

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 15:52

mrs honestly, I see what youmean.

However, if I saw the names on our list for DC2 constantly mentioned on a thread like this I may reconsider...

And honestly, I think a lot (not all) names are only awful if they aren't attached to a person you actually know (unless you dislike that person, of course)

hollyisalovelyname · 29/03/2017 16:47

Oops- Deardrah

MrsPringles · 29/03/2017 16:49

I love his name so that doesn't bother me, we picked it for a reason Smile

And besides, If MN named all babies they would all be called Matthew and Clara!

There was a thread before something like 'I hate the name X'
Of course the x name was my name and it was just pages about people with this name being bitches etc
MQ unsurprisingly shut that one down

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 16:53

mrs yeah... That's pretty bad :(

Although, tbh. I kind of wish people even knew my name (it's a real name. Just really uncommon).

DD is Clarissa. Sometimes I think it's just not popular enough to come up on these threads ;)

MrsPringles · 29/03/2017 16:56

That's a very pretty name Clary Smile

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 16:58

I'm sure yours is as well :)!!

(btw, if yours is Gemma/Jemma... I think I remember a thread like that. It's one of my alltiume favourite names,)

Cellardoor23 · 29/03/2017 17:28

I know a Gemma and she is one of the nicest people I have ever met.

I've seen the name Tarquin mentioned a few times as a 'posh' name. I almost find it laughable as the person I know definitely isn't. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just been my experience of the name. Along with many of the 'classics' that seem to be favourable on here.

MrsPringles · 29/03/2017 18:09

Haha. I'm not a Gemma/Jemma.

My name was also considered an 80's boring middle name and it starts with an L

Thirtyrock39 · 29/03/2017 18:11

Amelia and Olivia
Oliver

MrsCharlieD · 29/03/2017 18:59

Emily - ugh I think it's so dull and boring and completely unimaginative.

Imogen- I just hate the way this sounds.

Jayden- just no.

But apparently I like wanky, try hard names so hey ho. We can't all like the same things Grin

AmyC86 · 29/03/2017 21:00

I agree with the surnames as first names.
I also agree with the none phonetic names (Phoebe, Chloe etc)
Also don't understand double barrel or hyphenated names which make up nicknames such as JJ, or DW etc
I also hate the name Jessica because she bullied me in school!!!!

Nancy91 · 29/03/2017 21:06

Gemma and Tyler. Oh and double barrelled first names where the second part is -May.

crazycatgal · 29/03/2017 21:10

Jayden
Kaiden
Mackenzie
Mason

And any double barreled first names, especially with -Mae at the end

AlwaysLookOnBrightsideOfLife · 29/03/2017 22:22

I like quite a lot of the names on this thread. My brothers, sisters and OH names have all been listed too.

I only have two names that make my toes curl and I don't know why:

Gretchen (I think it's the hard G followed by a tch but not sure).
Malcolm. Mal is fine, Colm is fine, but together it just sets me on edge. Made worse by knowing a perfectly lovely gent by that name.

So irrational.

justgivemethepinot · 30/03/2017 09:56

Sebastian grates on me.
Ruby
Any crystal or gem inspired name actually.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 30/03/2017 10:49

Abel.

hollyisalovelyname · 02/04/2017 08:43

Algernon

Skipperoo1 · 02/04/2017 10:36

Paris
Chelsea
Prince/Princess
Tia
Tara
Bailey
Tayla

Cellardoor23 · 02/04/2017 19:19

I'm surprised Alasdair hasn't been mentioned yet. I personally like that name but I have met many people who don't.

It was a potential name for my DS and the general feedback (in rl) was no. I don't know why. Confused
