Tiara

RedastheRose · 26/02/2017 20:39

Never really minded anyone's names but I know someone who called her daughter 'Rosabelle' which was just too sickeningly sweet. I always think you should think how much shit the child is going to face at school by your unwise choice.

WhiskeySourpuss · 26/02/2017 20:39

That's a good point Morning DS has a surname as a first name but it doesn't have a 'son' ending

Muddlingalongalone · 26/02/2017 20:39

Ooh the comment about dogs name has reminded me that I hate Tabitha - it's a cat's name to me. Have never met one but it's always mentioned on baby names threads.
Felix is the same because of the adverts.

FourKidsNotCrazyYet · 26/02/2017 20:41

Any car names. Porsche, Mercedes, Sierra. I know they have other meanings but they just make me cringe.

Dreadfulidea · 26/02/2017 20:41

Not fond of "new country" names Paige, Sage etc

Surnames as forenames

Names ending in "a" sounds - Ella, Noah, Eva

Stupid spellings of names. People sometimes ask me the spelling of mine and I am always vaguely insulted that they think I would have " that" spelling.

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 26/02/2017 20:41

When my ds was in hospital the little girl we could see through the window in her HUGE lace dress was called Gloria - Victoria. . I had no words. .

Ankleswingers · 26/02/2017 20:41

This will probably out me but Mia- Belle.

I mean, really?

Positivitee · 26/02/2017 20:42

Can't believe I forgot Olivia.
I have no problem with surname as forename names however cannot believe that Jackson is widely used with all the connotations of Michael.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 26/02/2017 20:42

Names ending with -y
Hyphenated names
Hipster parent names "Wolf, Firesunbird, Lilytempestcloud"
Silly spellings
Using names indicative of indigenous groups when you have no affiliation to them whatsoever

I've never met a nice Olivia either so they can go on my shitlist.

Marcipex · 26/02/2017 20:42

Seth
Rupert
Jay
Hayden
Jacob

Judith
Carla
Sharon

Musicinthe00ssucks · 26/02/2017 20:42

My husband visibly shudders at Alfie and Archie.

I also hate the popular 80's names of Darren, Lee and Jason

FucksSakeSusan · 26/02/2017 20:42

Imogen

No good reason, just haaaaate it!

MumBod · 26/02/2017 20:43

Duncan and Brendan make me feel a bit nauseous.

MrPoppersPenguins · 26/02/2017 20:44

I don't like hyphenated names either- too twee. And I really didn't want to choose a name that ends in "ee" sound: Evie/Emily/daisy/Archie/Alfie.... too cute. But that's just personal preference. I like stronger sounding names. Good job everyone has different tastes otherwise wouldn't the world be boring!

Also know someone with a Nevaeh.... because it's heaven spelt backwards..... OK Hmm

WhiskeySourpuss · 26/02/2017 20:44

Haha Troll all of my kids names end in Y

MumBod · 26/02/2017 20:44

And I never met a Chantal/Chantelle/Shantell/whatever who wasn't a nightmare.

oohloolala · 26/02/2017 20:44

Amazed so many hate phoebe, i think it's lovely! Might stop reading before one of my children's names are mentioned as being awful 😬

disconnecteddrifter · 26/02/2017 20:44

derxa · 26/02/2017 20:45

I'm feeling sorry for DS1 whose name is Archive. Sad Who would have thought it would end up being so unpopular. At least no one's mentioned DS2s name Microfiche.

Babyroobs · 26/02/2017 20:45

I'm very offended that people keep mentioning Jacob- It's a good solid biblical name fgs.

MumBod · 26/02/2017 20:45

And broadening it out, people who give all their kids the same initial need a good shake, too.

maggiethemagpie · 26/02/2017 20:45

Dwayne
Dwight
Cedric
Caleb

And for girls...Ailsa really gets on my wick for some reason.

Fooshufflewickbannanapants · 26/02/2017 20:46

Wow only one out of my six has been mentioned and only once! Phew I hate abcde (absody)

Upyourdaisy · 26/02/2017 20:46

I didn't realise Jacob was so widely disliked! If dd4 had been a boy it was on my (very short) shortlist. Good thing she was a she then Grin
