Right... I'm probably going to offend somebody... But there have been 551 previous messages, so let's just try to offend everybody equally, right?

Melissa
Vanessa
Jasmine/Yasmin/Yasmina
Monica

Renan
Sasha
Heinrich
Angus (I love the name Angus, but I unfortunately always think of Anus... Which is pretty toe curling in a name...)

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 08:51

Oh...

And Imogen.

MrsMeeseeks · 29/03/2017 09:49

Oh Clary. You've got no Imogenation.

Grin
ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 10:08

Mrs

Maybe :D It's a very well liked name on mumsnet. And every time I hear it I'm just "why??" (internally, of course)

anxietyrus · 29/03/2017 10:10

Paul. I fucking hate Paul.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 10:11

Forgot two:

Peter and Nicholas/Niklaus/Klaus.

Cellardoor23 · 29/03/2017 12:38

I considered the name Eli for my DS. I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet. Maybe I should have just gone with that instead!

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 12:43

cellardoor

Your username reminds me of a little restaurant I have very fond memories of :)

Anyhow, I like the name Eli.

Other toe curling names?
Chantalle, Gretchen, Raychelle (I know a really lovely woman with this name, but why not Rachel? Or Rachelle?), Caleb, Jessica. (I have intense and weirdly irrational dislike for the name Jessica....)

MagicallyMalicious · 29/03/2017 12:43

I hate the name Brandon. I actively loathe it - every second boy was named Brandon in my city a few years ago.

To add to the fuckery: Brandons with 'Lee' as a middle name. It keeps happening.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 12:51

Maybe I'm weird, but these videos are really entertaining imo.

Also because DD's godparents are both ex-mormons and at least the godmother's family it's really like that ;)

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 12:51

*in the case of.

Shoot, anyhow ;)

Montsti · 29/03/2017 13:07

Chloe, Phoebe, Theo, Thea, Freya, Francesca, Kit...

A lot of people like the above names - I just don't but I'm sure lots of people don't like my taste in names so it shouldn't offend anyone!

IJustWantABrew · 29/03/2017 13:08

Missy ... it's a stripper name and I've never met a missy I actually like.
Anything that's double barrelled, or spelt 'incorrectly'.
Surprised my sons name and my name made it onto this list, it's one of those names that no one ever really thinks of.
For those of you who hate the name Ruth... your right it's awful (it's also my name), but I'm sure it will suit me when I'm shrivelled up in a nursing home covered in dust.

tovelitime · 29/03/2017 13:20

Scarlett
Darcy
Jaxon - this is probably my most toe curling name ever
Lola
Imogen

crapfatbanana · 29/03/2017 13:43

Sorry if this is you or someone you love:

Godfrey
Dick or Dickon
Zion
Cheyenne - this does really make me shudder.
Macey or Lacey
Janelle
McKadie

DerelictMyBalls · 29/03/2017 13:43

Wren

I have never come across a Wren IRL but often see it suggested on here. It just makes me think '...and Stimpy'. And besides, who would want to be named after a small, podgy-looking, inconsipicuous brown bird?

LinaBo · 29/03/2017 14:11

I'm actually impressed DD's name has only been mentioned twice (well, three times if you count the general heading in comes under)... and somewhat disappointed mine didn't make an appearance not even in the anglicised form Grin

candlelit35 · 29/03/2017 14:23

Sharon
Tracey
Stacey
Lacey
Macey

Probably because in the midlands where I live but am not originally from, these names end "EH" instead of "EE"

Sharon because I know a 3 year old Sharon and it just winds me up every time. I just want to call her something softer. Awfully judgemental I know!

user1482079332 · 29/03/2017 14:50

I'm not the only one but hyphenated names lilly-may lola-grace ect soo drippy. Micheala, mckensie, Chelsea and Angel. I really do know a poor unfortunate child saddled with that name

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 14:51

Tbh, the worst name is imo still Aphrodisia.

I'd prefer being Chelsea to being named Aphrodisia.

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 29/03/2017 14:56

Well, one of the worst names....

Greenfingeredfun · 29/03/2017 15:05

im bored rigid with british asians having these names in an attempt to find a name that will be easy for british people to pronounce: adam, daniel/ daniyal, sara, zara, natasha, amelia, rayan, kamran, ria, anooshka, aryan, simran. sorry, it just seems that everytime any relative has a kid, these are the names that are given. there, ive said it.
