Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities. Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.

I had a TFMR two days ago and am already praying for my period to come soon so we can start to TTC. My HCP hasn’t told me how many cycles to wait to start trying. She just said “when I’m ready”. does anyone have advice on how long to wait. Did your periods come back ok?

Kiki275 · 31/10/2020 09:07

@CorkViaDublin I had lochia for nearly 6 weeks, then was advised to wait 2 or 3 periods before trying again. It's entirely personal though. Give yourself chance to grieve and heal, start when you're ready x

@CorkViaDublin sorry missed your other question, mine haven't settled as yet (tmfr in March) but think I've got other issues going on like my thyroid x

Ah ok. I will probably start using ovulation tests after my first period just to see if they helps track when we could try. I had a ECPR yesterday evening so hopefully there isn’t much left in there

Treaclepie19 · 31/10/2020 10:38

Thank you for starting a new thread @Kiki275 ❤ 😊

MummyBearBoo · 31/10/2020 13:21

Thanks for the new thread I'm so grateful for this thread there are lots for trying again after miscarriage but not many for TFMR's and I think after 2 at 13 weeks its quite hard to relate as most miscarriages are in the first 12 weeks we got past this with a sticky one but couldn't keep them as they'd be too poorly!
I did find it hard to try for a 3rd time after the due date for my second TFMR passed and was so scared for the 11 week test but I felt really supported on this thread and thankfully it was 3rd time lucky and I'm now holding my new baby!! Baby dust to all you trying again!! Xx

CorkViaDublin · 31/10/2020 14:14

My TFMR was at 14 weeks and I haven’t found many people with same experience. I will definitely stay with the same
Consultant next time. She was so lovely and will know my histories. I think that’s important

Mummabear40 · 31/10/2020 16:46

@Kiki275 thank you for starting a new thread x

Mummabear40 · 31/10/2020 17:06

@CorkViaDublin my bleed lasted for just under 2 weeks, then my first period arrived pretty much exactly 4 weeks after my TFMR. I had a non surgical delivery at 15 weeks.

I’m currently on day 21 of my cycle so waiting to see if we’ve been lucky this cycle. My TFMR was 14th July, we’ve been TTC since my period in August x

CorkViaDublin · 31/10/2020 17:39

Thanks @Mummabear40 I hope you’re lucky this cycle !
❤️❤️❤️

CorkViaDublin · 01/11/2020 15:09

Hi guys- does anyone have any advice for vitamins etc to take to help conception. Is there a way I can start TTC before my period comes back? Do those ovulation tracking strips work?

Redhead43 · 01/11/2020 15:37

Thanks for the new thread @Kiki275. I agree that It’s so nice to see that @Treaclepie19 started the previous thread and now she has her 6 week old rainbow xx

@CorkViaDublin I was told to wait for 3 cycles but I think it’s more to do with how you feel emotionally and physically. I was very lucky as my periods seem to come back regular almost straight away just shorter than before. As for vitamins I was told to just keep taking the pregnacare that I had which was easy since I had a stock load xx

Treaclepie19 · 01/11/2020 15:40

You're making me feel a bit teary ❤
I can't quite believe I have her here safe and I wish all the best for you all. Definitely sticking around to cheer you all on ❤❤❤

Treaclepie19 · 01/11/2020 15:41

@CorkViaDublin
I took seven seas trying for a baby vitamins and we used preseed to help things along. Helped me conceive 4 times!

Redhead43 · 01/11/2020 15:42

@Treaclepie19 ❤️

LittleLottieChaos · 01/11/2020 18:48

Hi all. I had a TFMR in September but am already trying again as our doctor said that there was no reason not to. We really want just one more, I already have a 20 month old son who keeps me pretty busy. Looking forward to hearing how people are getting on!

Kiki275 · 02/11/2020 08:03

@LittleLottieChaos sorry you find yourself here. Good luck with your TTC journey. Mine was in March and I'm hoping so much that it doesn't take much longer x

Thanks for the new thread @Kiki275 .. Haven't been on for a while and I'm so sorry to see a few new names. @CorkViaDublin I was so saddened to read your story, and wishing you the best of luck for ttc again 💕

Hope the rest of you ladies are doing ok, and that @Treaclepie19 and @MummyBearBoo are enjoying their rainbow babies... I'm almost 34 weeks now, only a week left of work and can't wait for my little boy to arrive safe and sound 🤞🏽 x

Wishing baby dust to you all 💖

CorkViaDublin · 02/11/2020 15:56

Have any of you been told to wait three months before trying again. My friend who is an acupuncturist says it’s so important we don’t try?

mrsof20118 · 02/11/2020 19:33

@corkviadublin I had a surgical termination at just over 13 weeks back in August. My bleeding was minimal which surprised me. But I did have spotting on and off as I neared my first period. The first cycle was 31 days and the second 27. I used ovulation strips to track and ovulated later than usual the first month and then on day 15 the next so I'm hoping things settle into my normal soon. We were told we could try straight away x

mrsof20118 · 02/11/2020 19:36

Hi to everyone else. Really thought this month would be the one as timed everything as well as we could around ovulation, saw what I thought was bbt dip on my chart followed by the odd bit of brown spotting but I seem to be getting false positives randomly on the first response tests. I'm refusing to buy them again next cycle after this month giving me hope thinking we'd got our positive. The same happened last month and either I've been unlucky with two chemicals or the evaporation lines have got really bad on them. X

CorkViaDublin · 02/11/2020 20:50

Thank you so much
I’m sorry the tests are giving you false positive and false hope. I’ve never tracked ovulation. But I will start this week.

NoCallerID · 03/11/2020 10:44

Thanks for the new thread @Kiki275
I'm really hoping I'll get notifications for this now!!

@CorkViaDublin just caught up on the old thread, I'm so so sorry you had to go through this.
I personally was told we could try again straight away and fell pregnant without a period but it resulted in a CP. The two cycles after this ended in two more CPs, nothing since.

We've had our telephone appointment with Prof Quenby from the recurrent miscarriage clinic last week and already went in to have our bloods taken yesterday. She's also given me progesterone to start once I have a positive test. (I had a month worth from a private prescription in Germany...) so I guess that's a good start. Should be ovulating today (positive OPK last night) and managed to DTD a few times over the weekend and yesterday. Hoping to get another one in for good measure tonight. And then we're back into another tww where I'll prob drive myself crazy.

MummyBearBoo · 03/11/2020 10:58

@1stbabs - thanks
When TTC I used OPKs -for last two pregnancies anyway (1st two were happy accidents) I waited until after the due dates for my angel babies before trying again -the 3rd pregnancy took 5 months and this time i got pregnant 2 weeks after my due date passed!! I took folic acid and vit D and made DH take vit C with zinc it's supposed to improve sperm quality - don't think he needed it but we are both 35 so no harm right!!
I used OPKs just so I knew when AF was due as I have PCOS so they're a bit irregular in length!
Bit strange tho my last two pregnancies I got pregnant after I wrote that month off as I didn't get a positive OPK all month!! I used to put a pillow under my bum after DTD that seemed to work too!
Good luck all TTC ladies, pregnant ladies and those with new babies!! Xxx

CorkViaDublin · 03/11/2020 13:04

Hey I’m
Sorry I don’t know all the jargon. What is a cp? @NoCallerID

I’m so desperate to be pregnant again
