Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities. Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.

@Alice40p insomnia is driving me bonkers! I thought the worst of it was over but the bad weather a few nights ago kept me wide awake, then when I tried to catch up on sleep last night I was constantly waking up. I've downloaded a meditation app which helps clear my mind in order to drift off, it's not a free one but I can send you a months free trial code if you'd like to try it x

@kiki275 thanks, the problem I have is not actually falling asleep at night but I wake up at around 3am for a wee and it is very difficult to get back to sleep after that.

Kiki275 · 12/03/2021 19:00

That's the bit I downloaded it for. I'd wake up and my mind would wander from urgent stuff I had to do, to recalling my DS's book word for word (little Bob McGrew was a keeper at the zoo, looking after animals was what he liked to do....). If you'd like to try at any point, let me know xx

@kiki275 yes, I’m exactly the same. Sometimes I even check and reply to office emails, which makes it even worse! Yes, please do share the link with me.
Do you also wake up for a wee at night?

Kiki275 · 12/03/2021 20:35

@Alice40p I'm not sure really, I think I wake up anyway and just go for a wee whilst I'm up anyway. I resist looking at my phone as much as possible.
I have 5 passes per month so if anyone else wants to try feel free xx

Hey I've been using an app called Aura which has 1000s of meditations, stories, and nature sounds from wellness experts to help you fall asleep, reduce stress, and improve focus in just 3 minutes. I think you'll like it, check it out! web.aurahealth.io/refer/aura-39g3s

Hello. Joining this thread as I had TFMR yesterday due to T18. Hoping to start ttc as soon as I can as I'm 41. My gynae told me to expect my next period in about 6 weeks and I could start ttc whenever I felt ready. But perhaps she realises that I can't afford to wait too long at my age. I'm trying not to get my hopes up for getting pg again though as I accept it might just not happen at my age.

@Hadd9 sorry to hear you have been through the same. I was told to expect up to 2 weeks of bleeding but then contact hospital if it continued (mine was surgical).

Kiki275 · 14/03/2021 08:06

@duchessrose I'm sorry you also find yourself here. Keeping everything crossed for you on your TTC journey xx

@duchessrose Sorry, you find yourself here. All the very best for you TTC!

Hadd9 · 14/03/2021 22:34

@duchessrose so sorry you had to go through everything. I was too far into my pregnancy and had to do it medically. I’m so pleased you already feel ready to get trying again, just listen to your body.

Me and my husband are going to wait until July/august to start again.. I had a miscarriage last summer and I just need a break. But I’ll keep coming back here onto this thread xx

CorkViaDublin · 15/03/2021 07:02

Hey guys
It’s so fab to come back on here and see the love and support of this community has continued to support women who find themselves in our awful position.

So yesterday I did a test 10dpo bfn and today I did one and I think I can see a vvvvvv faint something. Any thoughts. I know 11dpo is still so early

@CorkViaDublin I think I can see a line! Fingers crossed for you xxx

Mummabear40 · 15/03/2021 12:47

@CorkViaDublin I can see a feint line so fingers crossed.

Sorry you find yourself here @duchessrose, I started TTC as soon as I had my period, 4 weeks after my TFMR, as I’m 40 and was advised not to wait. It took 3 cycles to fall. Wishing you luck x

duchessrose · 15/03/2021 21:58

Thanks for the welcome. @Mummabear40 that's very quick! It gives me hope.

Hello @CorkViaDublin Yes I can see something feint, I hope it's good news!

Kiki275 · 17/03/2021 06:43

Morning everyone,
a year ago today I signed the form, lay perfectly still and allowed the doctor to stop my babies hearts.
I thought I was doing okay but I don't think I am. I cried myself to sleep last night. It annoyed me DH left their names off my Mother's Day card. Between all this and renovation stress I'm just a mixed bag of emotions.
I'm still terrified I'm going to have to do the same with this baby in a few weeks time.
Sorry for the brain fart, I just had to write it all down somewhere 😢 xx

OP posts:
Mummabear40 · 17/03/2021 09:15

@kiki275 I completely get it, we probably all do. Some days it just hits you like a train and there’s no escape from it. Be gentle with yourself, you are going through a lot with a new pregnancy and the house renovation.
I feel the same as you as I’m expecting this pregnancy to be taken away from me too. I know I’ll relax after the 20 week scan next week, providing it goes well of course. xx

Dia12 · 17/03/2021 09:54

Sending you a big hug @Kiki275 - what you're feeling is completely normal, you're still grieving, of course there will be a lot of emotions. Allow yourself to feel them all. Perhaps your DH found it difficult to write down the names of your babies. But they are with you both forever, loving you both as much as you love them.
Have a chat with someone today, it'll help you.
I'll second @Mummabear40 in everything she's also said.....we are so close to the 20w milestone and have done so well so far.
xx

Kiki275 · 17/03/2021 10:42

@Dia12 @Mummabear40 thank you 🥰. I feel a lot better now (I've had two cups of tea). Made a bit of progress with the house too this morning also feel a lot more in control.
That 20 weeks scan seems so far away. I'm on one of the birth club threads but have backed away from it a lot. Understandably there are many anxious FTMs but I can't relate to them, in a way that's so hard to explain without sounding patronising. I have PMd another mum on there with a similar story to us and she feels the same, which eases the guilt.
Just being able to write freely here is a massive help xx

@kiki275 a big hug from me xx. It is very common to feel like that especially on anniversaries and around the weeks you started having problems with your last pregnancy. I feel like that now as I started having problems with last pregnancy around this time. Adding to my worries, I have been diagnosed with early gestational diabetes!! It is such a tough journey this! I really hope we all get through this! Your babies will always be watching you and loving you.

Alice40p · 19/03/2021 20:06

I had a rollercoaster day again today. I was upset about GD (I had one high glucose reading probably due to stress as I was crying 😭 ) and very apprehensive about my NIPT today. The day ended well though as the baby looked fine, still measured ahead, the NT was 1.08 which is completely normal and the baby had a nasal bone. Just hoping the NIPT results come all clear now! 🙂

Dia12 · 20/03/2021 22:38

Ah I'm so happy to hear the scan showed a normal NT and nasal bone....all very positive signs. Well done! Your NIPT will be just fine 🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🤞🏼🙏 hope the next week or so whizzes by.
Sorry to hear about your GD. I don't have any experience of it, but I've known lots of ppl to have it during pregnancy and all is usually well. Hope the MW is guiding you with diet etc to help you manage it.

Kiki275 · 21/03/2021 07:00

Hi ladies,

@Alice40p that's not good news about the GD. How can they diagnose off one result, was it a fasting one? Some of my friends had high readings just from certain ice lollies. Keeping everything crossed for your NIPT but glad the scan went so well.x

@CorkViaDublin how are you getting on?x

I've created another thread but it won't let me post a new one under my usual username so apologies.

@Alice40p sounds like your scan went really well. Hoping you don’t wait to long for your results. Sorry about the GD reading, not ideal. I’m being tested for that but not until 26 weeks.

Thanks for the me thread @kiki275
