Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities. Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.

Yeah it feels good to have a bit of good news @Redhead43 how are you now?

I’m trying to understand OPKs. We are going to try again this month

Mummabear40 · 11/11/2020 17:06

@CorkViaDublin that is good news, I remember the relief myself.
I’m currently waiting for my fertile window again, I’m on CD6, will start OPK’s on CD12 and go from there. xx

Kiki275 · 11/11/2020 19:11

@Redhead43 yes, progesterone must have been fine but I have an under active thyroid I think so will discuss with GP when I get chance x

Good luck with TTC @CorkViaDublin xx

@Kiki275 Glad the progesterone was fine that’s a good sign. From what I know thyroid problems are reasonably easy to manage so hopefully your gp will sort that fairly quickly xx

Good luck this month @Mummabear40 xx

Mummabear40 · 11/11/2020 21:36

Thank you @Redhead43 how are you getting on? I thought I remembered your windows being around the same time as mine. xx

JustStuck · 11/11/2020 21:39

Hi ladies, hope you dont mind if I share my story on here.
I had a tmfr on August via surgery, because I have an internal scar on my c-scar, the procedure was carried out by a consultant at a hospital, I thought I had left the nightmare behind me, after a long drawn process it transpired I had retained products. On October I went back in hospital for another procedure, where a different consultant repeated the procedure under scan guidance.
It's been over two weeks now and I thought my bleeding had stopped over the weekend but I have been having little spotting today/yesterday, I am wondering if this is retained products. I called the nurse this morning who looked at my records and thought I had nothing to worry about and said it was all normal. However I am suspicious it might be retained products. I am going to see consultant on monday to have a follow up and a scan. I am devastated, I am stuck in a nightmare, every time I find the strength to pick myself up and move forward I get knocked again. I just can't see an end in sight Shock.

Mummabear40 · 11/11/2020 21:54

@JustStuck that’s sounds horrendous, I can’t imagine how hard that is to go through. Having to tfmr is hard enough with having those issues for months. I hope you get seen again and get the answers you need. xx

CorkViaDublin · 11/11/2020 22:00

I had retained products and after the second surgery I still have bleeding now @JustStuck but I’ve been scanned and no more retained products
Can u get a scan

JustStuck · 11/11/2020 22:10

Thanks @Mummabear40.
Yes, I am having a scan on Monday, I dread to think what happens if there is retained products xx

Kiki275 · 12/11/2020 08:36

@JustStuck I'm so sorry you're having to go through this, sounds like a nightmare. 🤞 the scan shows the problem and as unpleasant as it is, even if it is retained products, it can be sorted, which is a lot better than watching and waiting.x

Redhead43 · 12/11/2020 10:38

@JustStuck I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Retained products albeit horrible at least it will be a clear explanation and it can be sorted. It’s the last thing you need when you’ve already been through so much. I got an infection from my retained products but once they were gone and a course of abx later my bleeding stopped and my body bounced back into normal cycles and psychologically once the physical problem had stopped I felt better - you’ll get there. Fingers crossed Monday brings the answers you need xx

MummyBearBoo · 12/11/2020 17:34

@JustStuck -you'll find a way through hun!
I had an AVM after my first TFMR which basically meant my uterine artery was bleeding out into my womb and I was haemorrhaging and passing huge clots. after being dismissed by the DR 4 weeks later I started passing out due to blood loss and had to have the artery cauterised and a blood transfusion! After my second the placenta got stuck on my cervix and I was bleeding out til they took me to theatre remove it! Again another blood transfusion!
it is awful when you want to TTC and you can't start due to issues from the TFMR but we, as women, are incredibly strong and we find a way through it's all you can do -I think my daughter without knowing it got me thru the tough times!m
I really do wish you all the best and hope everything gets resolved for you as soon as possible! You're extremely strong to go through all you have and you have got through it! You got this! xxx

CorkViaDublin · 12/11/2020 19:08

I did 2 opk test yesterday and today and there are two dark lines. I think this is a positive ovulation
We are going to start TTC as of today
Has anyone had a pain in their ovary the first month after TFMR- I feel like I can feel my ovary ovulating this month or something

NoCallerID · 12/11/2020 21:11

You guys... I’m 9dpo and since yesterday I was convinced that I was pregnant (after a dream with a BFP a few nights ago too..) Took a test this morning and had a vvvfl. Took another one tonight and it’s so much stronger. I’m going between “this is good, it’s progressing and not another chemical” and “why is the HCG so high already?” I found out with our TFMR baby at 9dpo. Our healthy one on 10dpo. So I keep thinking having a strong line this early will again result in a T21 baby with abnormally high HCG. 🙈

CorkViaDublin · 13/11/2020 03:58

@NoCallerID congrats firstly.
I don’t think the line colour can tell trisomy 21- it’s such an anxious time for you but just try try try to keep calm until you can get scanned. Right now the facts are indicating good news

Redhead43 · 13/11/2020 06:50

@NoCallerID this is such lovely news! I’m so very happy for you. I do think dreams are a massive insight into what your bodies doing. I understand your anxieties and it will be such a long wait for that first scan even an early one. Our brains are full of too much information and stories and stats. Easier said than done but try to relax there’s nothing to say that this pregnancy won’t be completely normal. I’m wishing you the smoothest of pregnancies xx

Mummabear40 · 13/11/2020 07:07

@NoCallerID I understand why you feel anxious and nervous as my TFMR baby also had T21 as well as other things and I also had an early HCG rise with him but try not to think like that as every pregnancy is different and a vvvfl is a good sign. Try to stay positive and quiet congratulations to you xx

Kiki275 · 13/11/2020 07:36

@NoCallerID congratulations! I completely understand why you're worried. Did you start on the progesterone? That could be a big reason why things are getting stronger xx

NoCallerID · 13/11/2020 08:41

Thanks guys!

@CorkViaDublin No, you can't. I'm just over analysing and comparing... Which I know I shouldn't do.

@Redhead43 I think so too, I've always had vivid dreams and even 'predicted a boy born in the water' with my LC and that was the case haha

@Mummabear40 thank you, I really must remember this. I think I just implanted very early.

@Kiki275 Yes I did straight away yesterday morning. I want to give it to Monday to call Tommy's... Not sure why I'm so hesitant but there's not much they can do at the moment anyway other than book me in for a scan in 3 weeks time.

CorkViaDublin · 13/11/2020 08:59

@NoCallerID - its such an anxious time.
can i ask you about OPKs. these are three i have done in the last three days, - we dtd last night and will again tonight - do we need to try more than once today - does this look like the surge to you. top is wed, middle one thursday, bottom today

Kiki275 · 13/11/2020 09:19

@CorkViaDublin they all look quite strong, it's hard to tell but DTD as much as you feel able to. PreMom app is quite good for reading OPKs and might help make sense of them x

OP posts:
NoCallerID · 13/11/2020 09:28

@CorkViaDublin I agree with @Kiki275
The Premom app is great (and the most accurate one) keep doing the test until you've had a few negatives abs it's definitely going for lighter. And watch out for your CM. DTD however often you want. That's at least what we did. And def do it again on the first couple of days of negative OPKs too.

CorkViaDublin · 13/11/2020 10:12

I got the app and it says the photos are low. I’ll keep testing. Thanks a mill

MummyBearBoo · 13/11/2020 10:26

@NoCallerID -the chance of having another T21 is 1 in a 100 I've been pregnant twice since mine and both were unaffected!
Technically if you could get pregnant 100 times in probability only 1 would be affected!
I though my HCG this time was high as my CB said 2-3 weeks when my period was only 3 days late so should have been 1-2 weeks and the Frer had a dye stealer test live where it stole get from the control line coz it was so dark and this baby was fine do don't think you can tell Gran that!

MummyBearBoo · 13/11/2020 10:27

From that not Gran that -posted too soon by accident!
