Welcome to the newest thread of support for those ladies who are pregnant or trying to conceive after terminating for abnormalities. Since this thread first began (almost ten years ago!) there have been stories of heart break, sadness and fear, but from these stories there have also been stories of happiness, success and most importantly, hope.

So just had confirmation of sub-clinical hypothyroidism and antibody positive. Don't require treatment yet but to let them know straight away if I do.
Just googled what effect it has on pregnancy, not a wise move 🤦‍♀️ x

Glad you’ve got a diagnosis @Kiki275 are they just going to monitor your thyroid function regularly with blood tests then to see if you require treatment? Xx

Kiki275 · 13/11/2020 19:46

@Redhead43 yes, unless I conceive in which case I might need additional monitoring or treatment. Bit gutted as I was kinda hoping for a quick magic fix that would sort my cycles out x

@Kiki275@NoCallerID
Hi guys.
How are you both doing? It seems harder to cope with everything with this lockdown

With the Premom app. Did you guys mark Cycle day one as the day the TFMR/miscarriage occurred? I can’t seem to tell the app I was pregnant so it’s saying my period is like 100 days late. Even tho I typed in miscarriage bleeding it doesn’t seem to know

Kiki275 · 15/11/2020 08:06

@CorkViaDublin I only started OPKing several cycles in. In your position I'd probably do the same if there's no possibility of just putting nothing. Once you have a positive OPK it should be a lot more accurate in estimating.x

@CorkViaDublin I use it solely for OPKs and not for prediction or tracking. I use Kindara for that and have done for years.

I'm not sure if this pregnancy is viable... my test at 10dpo in the afternoon was so strong but 11dpo morning it was lighter abs continued to stay like that throughout the day. Too scared to test now.

Balajake · 15/11/2020 09:56

Hey everyone. Hope you’re all well ?

I’m CD13 today. Had very bad ovulation cramps middle of the night Friday into Yesterday morning so DTD yesterday around 9am later yesterday got a positive OPK . Pain had stopped by mid morning but today it’s back with a vengeance. Very bad lower back and uterus cramps just began again and getting stronger. We DTD again this morning but I was sure i ovulated yesterday but now not so sure lol. This pain is bad though 😫

Gonna BD again tomorrow to be sure

CorkViaDublin · 15/11/2020 09:59

Oh @NoCallerID this wait is excruciating for you. Don’t you just wish there was a fortune teller who could just tell you for sure. I’m so sorry. I’m gonna light a candle for you now and hope you can find some sort of peace of mind until you can test. Xxxxx

My opk today was fainter than yesterday but I might have tested too early in the morning. I’ll try again in the afternoon- Premom is saying my peak was yesterday

Balajake · 15/11/2020 11:15

Oh I just read your post. Any pics of the tests so we can compare ?

CorkViaDublin · 15/11/2020 12:25

Hey @Balajake
Here’s the photo but I did the most recent one too early in the morning. I’m gonna do one in a hour

I always get intense pain when I’m ovulating so it’s a good indicator for me as horrible as it is. I had my TMFR in March and been trying ever since. It can be a long road TTC

SlipperTripper · 15/11/2020 13:11

Hi guys. Hope it's ok to ask this, I'm really struggling to get an answer anywhere! I had a TFMR in late September at 21 weeks. Had a PPH and manual placenta removal, so the birth experience was fairly dramatic and was on heavy meds and iron tablets for a long time.

Got my first period nearly 3 weeks ago and it's still going strong, like, first day bleed strong (bleeding had stopped, so convinced that it is a period). We want to try again early next year but want to wait the three cycles, and I'm panicking that this period will never end! I know it will, but I feel so down about it and seeing it every day is like a kick in the teeth, after the horrific experience of a TMFR, a really hard pregnancy and then associated medical issues, I just want a break! I know that sounds awful, but I'm so, so tired.

Is this standard?!?

@Kiki275 @NoCallerID @Balajake this is the up to date one

My tests are not getting any darker. Slightly lighter actually. I'm so upset. I was so so hopeful this time. I really thought this was our strong and healthy rainbow baby. Looks like progesterone doesn't do anything for me. I still think it might be a physical issue with my uterus... going to call the RMC as soon as they open to discuss when to stop progesterone as I don't think I'll miscarry naturally as long as I'm using it. I'd just rather get on with it.

CorkViaDublin · 16/11/2020 07:17

@NoCallerID I’m sure you feel so distressed and disappointed. Definitely call rmc and see if u can get some definitive answers. It’s such an emotional and uncertain time. Keep in touch xxx

CorkViaDublin · 16/11/2020 07:18

@SlipperTripper I didn’t want to read and ghost but I don’t have any experience with your issue. What does the doc say. I bled 16 days after ERPC at 14 weeks mc

Balajake · 16/11/2020 07:45

So sorry @NoCallerID 😔

Kiki275 · 16/11/2020 08:14

@NoCallerID I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm hoping they can help x

@CorkViaDublin You can edit pregnancy record in the premom app. Tapping on My goal on the profile page, you will see "Edit record" under the I am Pregnant tab. Click the Add icon to add your gestation period, just select the day of miscarriage as a due date. That is how I did. After adding the record, the app stops counting the gestation period as a cycle. I notice it gives me more accurate prediction now since I have been using the app to log my data for almost a year.

CorkViaDublin · 16/11/2020 11:16

Thanks so much I just did that and now there is no prediction for
Ovulation where as they had said based on tests that I ovulated yesterday. Any idea why that ovulating prediction has disappeared @Louisa199

Kiki275 · 16/11/2020 14:16

@SlipperTripper so sorry to hear this. How long did your lochia last? Was there a gap between that and your period starting? My lochia lasted nearly 6 weeks after loosing my boys, so understand how frustrating it is x

Hi ladies,

@NoCallerID my heart breaks for you. Have you had any contact with anyone about what to do with progesterone? I hope you’ve managed to get some advice/help xxx

@SlipperTripper sorry you find yourself here sounds like you had a really traumatic time. I hope things settle for you soon Xx

NoCallerID · 16/11/2020 17:26

Thanks guys.

@Redhead43 I called RMC as soon as they opened and was rather stunned by the midwife's advice: I shouldn't have tested until AF was late but now that I have a should just wait a couple of days and then call back.
I tested positive at 9dpo. So started progesterone then. The tests darkened throughout 9dpo and 10dpo and since 11dpo have been getting lighter - rarely there now. My husband and I both understood that the sooner I'd take the progesterone, the better the chance would be. The lady didn't know my history so maybe that's why she said it but I felt a bit fobbed off. I've had the same thing happen 4 times now that the egg was fertilised but didn't fully implant. I wouldn't know this, had I not tested before I was due. I know that this can be common but I don't think that it's 'right' to happen in 4 out of 6 cycles.
I've got a call scheduled with the Prof for beginning of December to get my blood results, I'm also pretty certain that I'll agree to take part in the CERM trial so will get checked for endeometritis. But then it's only a 50/50 chance of getting the real meds or placebo....

Redhead43 · 16/11/2020 17:48

@NoCallerID bit annoying that the midwife didn’t seem to understand your history. From what you’ve said and what I’ve read I would of said taking progesterone as early as possible was a good move? Also you’re right yes if you hadn’t of tested you might not of known this happened but you have tested and you know this has happened 4 times now so it’s information the midwife can use to help plan your care surely? So hard and confusing to get the right support sometimes. Hopefully your phone call with the prof will be of some use especially with blood results etc as regards to the trial I suppose if you did catch during like you’ve said before you’d just have to drop out? Is that right? Sorry you’re having such a time of it I felt so positive for you this week xxx

NoCallerID · 17/11/2020 08:37

@Redhead43 thank you, it feels very comforting that some people do understand what I'm saying. I hope it was just that she wasn't aware of my history.
Yes, I could drop out at any point.
I've briefly spoken about it with DH last night and I think he seemed a bit surprised that I want to do it because it means up to 3 cycles not trying. I don't even know if I'm eligible until I've had my blood results back but am sending them an email now that I do want to try it. And even if it's only to rule out CE.
