I have been a poster here for seven years, my first post was asking for help after a DX on DS1 regarding medication, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who took the time to respond and give advice and share stories.
I remember there being a lot of jokes and support, one poster who lost family in 9/11 was an inspiration and at any time day or night there was someone about for a chat, it made night feed more fun.

Yes there were times when people "fell out" this is life, and the odd nut job who tried to convince people that 4 times the amount of calpol was safe but on the whole it was a nice place to be, however just lately (mostly since AIBU was added) it seems people are getting really nasty.

No longer can you have a good debate with out the usual stupidness and name calling, if you question immigration there is no debate you just get called racist, people with problems get called troll, the term Jog on is used daily as is daily mail reader, and I ask myself when did this site become a playground with the childish name calling, where are all the grown up, funny, articulate women who you could have a grown up discussions with.

It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines.

I guess someone will say if I don't like it leave, and I just might do that as mumsnet is not the place it was

Well I guess it is at least a fortnight since we had this post. Hey ho, you know yourself what the answer is. Ta-ra.

AnyFucker · 22/03/2010 19:55

buh-bye then

AnyFucker · 22/03/2010 19:55

buh-bye then

rubyslippers · 22/03/2010 19:55

jog on ...

dustycups · 22/03/2010 19:57

mumsnet died for me when cod left!!!!

daftpunk · 22/03/2010 19:57

I agree about the racist thing....you can't mention immigration without being called a racist....I put it down to their low intelligence...but it does get a bit annoying...

Lulumaam · 22/03/2010 19:58

it's a shame you don't feel it is the same, of course it does change, people come and go and some stick around, some don't

it's great that you had a lot of support when you needed it maybe you have moved on?

i have been on here for 3.5 years. maybe longer, there has always been the troll/name calling etc etc etc
sometimes you just become more aware of it

if you are not happy, you don't need to stay

maybe you could contribute something back instead of saying its boring and crap?

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 19:58

Well nothing stays the same, does it? That's life, I'm afraid.

Lulumaam · 22/03/2010 19:59

who's low intelligence DP? posters who disagree with your BNP activist opinions?

TurnOutTheLight · 22/03/2010 20:00

See point proven, no sensible articulate women left, just the jog on brigade.

wahwah · 22/03/2010 20:01

Cod is back. And if you don't like Aibu, what are you doing here? There's loads of kindness and support on mumsnet, but I'd never go looking for
it here, that would just be complete foolishness!

overmydeadbody · 22/03/2010 20:01

Everything changes

BitOfFun · 22/03/2010 20:01

And I guess that if it did stay the same it would just die out as posters move on...you can only read the same thread so many times, kids grow up etc etc. It is like a shark that has to keep swimming to survive. Or something...

But I know what you mean- I never thought Dylan should have gone electric

YANBU to say it has changed, it probably has. It is a living, breathing, organic thing in that it is controlled by it's human occupants and will change as it grows because of that.

rubyslippers · 22/03/2010 20:02

well, it is too tempting not to really

If you don't like it, take a break

start a thread or two

plenty is still v v good about MN - loads of support

i have been able to EBF DD thanks to lots of advice on here

NinthWave · 22/03/2010 20:03

I've 'grown out' of various different forums over the past 10 years, but never felt the need to have a big old flounce about it.

DuelingFanjo · 22/03/2010 20:03

"It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines"

ooh like who? YABU not to name and shame

wahwah · 22/03/2010 20:03

OP you are very rude. I have seen Lulumaman's posts over the years and she is exactly the kind, supportive poster you say is lacking. I'm beginning to doubt you even recognise the current Mumsnet.

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/03/2010 20:03

Are you leaving? I surmise from your user name that you've decided its time to call it a day. I think this is what happens when people decide to move on from things they have previously enjoyed. They find they just don't like it any more and so change their behaviour to suit. For many people Mumsnet is still a really great place to be. Probably best to see yourself as passing it on to those for whom it is still a novelty or a source of pleasaure.

Lulumaam · 22/03/2010 20:03

my post was quite helpful!!

but what do you expect posting in AIBU about MN being crap .

you also forgot to say, i remember when this was all fields ...

Rockbird · 22/03/2010 20:04

Ooh, you allowed a whole eight minutes for replies before the next insult? What a witty, intelligent and fascinating person you are. How will we cope with your departure? Or maybe you're just attention seeking? Seeing if anyone will miss you? Isn't that what these usual whingy self-centred posts are all about?

squeaver · 22/03/2010 20:05

Oh I agree. It's all sex sex sex these days. Dirty mares.

(c) S Times, D Mail etc etc ad nauseum

Bumperlicious · 22/03/2010 20:05

'It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines.'

Well that has always been the case - it's just the faces have changed!

Lulumaam · 22/03/2010 20:05
