So my sister bought me tickets to see a dance show and I was telling someone at toddlers that I didn't think I could go as I can't express and DS is b/f.

She only went and offered me some of her expressed milk from the freezer, I'm not joking!!! I didn't know where to put myself, lol!

Muttered something about giving the expressing another go, freak!! I knew she was a bit weird, I'm 99 per cent suire she still feeds her 4 yr old DS, but this is beyoned the pale isn't it?

quite sweet of her really,

so it's OK for a baby to drink from a cow but not a human ummmm

Bloodandchatkins · 24/10/2008 20:14

this should be interesting !

ladytophamhatt · 24/10/2008 20:15

Umm, I predict this one will kick off

travellingwilbury · 24/10/2008 20:15

Good luck

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/10/2008 20:15

That was me btw

Bloodandchatkins · 24/10/2008 20:15

Fight fight fight fight !!!

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:16

I agree with op that I would ahve been quite shocked [takes cover behind bush]

Habbibu · 24/10/2008 20:16

If your baby had been in scbu, and needed milk from a milk bank, would you have been equally repulsed. She made a kind offer, which didn't suit you. Was it really necessary to come and slag her off here?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/10/2008 20:16

Only kidding, couldnt resist

milkysallgone · 24/10/2008 20:16

Grab the popcorn!

(I have always wanted to say that)

Reallytired · 24/10/2008 20:16

I used to donate milk to premies at Queen Charlotte's. I did it for the first six months of my son's life. Do you think that is disgusting?

snowleopard · 24/10/2008 20:16

Offering breastmilk for your child doesn't seem odd to me at all. They have donor breastmilk banks at hospitals... it's OK for a baby to have milk that's not from its own mother.

I thought you were going to say she offered it to you to put in your tea. they always run out of milk at toddler groups.

AlistairSim · 24/10/2008 20:17

It may not be your 'thing' but I think it was incredibly sweet of her.

Why would you think she was a freak?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/10/2008 20:17

Reallytired I think that is a wonderful thing to do

alicet · 24/10/2008 20:18

I would have been shocked and not taken her up on it even though it's not rational as like another poster said I would have been happy to used the expressed milk bank if I had a prem baby.

So YANBU to be shocked and to decline. But YABU to come on here and call her a freak for making a kind offer to try and help you out

thisismynewname · 24/10/2008 20:18

Oh, giving it to premies is different, it's lifesaving. But this, well, ewwwww!!

PuzzleRocks · 24/10/2008 20:18

Oh god, I can't even be bothered.

Bloodandchatkins · 24/10/2008 20:18

Joking aside - it was a nice offer really wasn't it ? However you may feel about feeding your baby another womans milk, it was kind of her to offer ! It certainly wouldnt of offended me or made me think her a freak, but I suspect this is a troll anyway, so will now wander away to open up the bar.

SharpMolarBear · 24/10/2008 20:18

This must be a joke
I assumed you meant she offered it to you, which yes, would be a bit strange...offering it to your DS was incredibly kind IMO

nickytwoooohtimes · 24/10/2008 20:18

WHen I read the title, I htough maybe the woman offered it to the op for her tea or something.
No, I don't think it's weird to give a kid someone else's milk. If someone had given me soem for my child I'd be happy for him ot have it.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/10/2008 20:19

is this real or just trying to stir

callmeovercautious · 24/10/2008 20:19

Sorry but I don't care what she said to you but calling extended BFers freaks is very very insulting. You may want to explain your comment.

FWIW if someone had offered me help like that I would have been amazed at their generosity and turned the help down gracefully. Perhaps she felt a bond with you if you are both BFing.

PeterCushi0n · 24/10/2008 20:19

How kind of her.
I hope she didn't realise that you think she is a "freak".
Because she isn't, and it would be very sad if she was upset by your reaction.

SharpMolarBear · 24/10/2008 20:19

Just seen you've posted again
Seriously, why ewwww?
