Anyone else would mop, right?

You pour yourself a coffee, and as you turn away from the counter, a tablespoons worth falls to the kitchen tile.

You would mop that up right? Not leave it, or "wipe it up with your sock".
Right?!

Am I being unreasonable to think anyone else who spilt coffee would get out a mop and clean it properly?

To clarify, it's not my DH, it's actually at work
I was upset that the coffee stickiness would be tracked out onto the store floor

A teaspoon or less I would rub with a sock (or my sock would be wet!). More than that would be a wipe with a cloth.

Sartre · Yesterday 18:13

I’d probably wipe it with a tea towel but I wouldn’t get the mop out for two drops of coffee, no.

That’s a strange thing to be upset about. How are you feeling in general? X

Sock

OffTheMap · Yesterday 18:14

So by kitchen tile you mean on the floor?

Bit of kitchen roll or a wipe of some kind.

Not the dishcloth. not on the floor!

But not Full Janitor with a mop

Did they removed their shoe to mop up the coffee?

Do people take their shoes off at your work then?!

EmailsaysOOO · Yesterday 18:16

Use the mop for a smidge of coffee? Nope. Who's got time for that?

elperil · Yesterday 18:18

Why did you not mop it up yourself?

You said it yourself it’s a tiny amount that spilled, it’s hardly going to cause stickiness issues in another section of the store.

FckThisShit · Yesterday 18:21

Wipe with cloth, dry with sock.

Shortbreadel · Yesterday 18:22

Bit of kitchen towel will do the trick

FucksakeLavender · Yesterday 18:23

Why is coffee sticky?

Quick swish with kitchen roll and it's like it never happened.

You're probably got really high standards, I'll bet you're the type who changes their duvet cover AT LEAST twice a year even if it doesn't need it.

Catza · Yesterday 18:23

I would absolutely not mop! I'd use kitchen roll though.

Lilyhatesjaz · Yesterday 18:26

I have a special cloth for spills on the floor.

Disturbia81 · Yesterday 18:26

I would use sock or bit of tissue

AnonyMumAuDHD · Yesterday 18:27

Nope. Piece of kitchen towel (I don’t wear socks) to wipe and dry.

BobbleBear · Yesterday 18:35

A damp paper towel should be adequate.

Ladidahdi · Yesterday 18:37

I’d just wipe it up with a tea towel. We use a fresh one most days anyway.

Pinkflamingo10 · Yesterday 18:38

This is what kitchen roll is for surely ?

Myli1 · Yesterday 18:39

No I’d either use the sock method if I was wearing them or a piece of kitchen roll. There’s no way I’d be getting the mop and bucket out just for that.

Growlybear83 · Yesterday 18:39

If I wore socks I would use my foot to wipe up a small spillage, but I only wear them a couple of times a year so I would use some kitchen towel. I definitely wouldn’t get a mop out for a tablespoon.
