Is this for a family of four?

UniquePinkSwan · 09/05/2026 21:24

You know it’s not average

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/05/2026 21:25

Well I have probably slightly more than that but I work in retail and rotate my wardrobe seasonally

OneTimeThingToday · 09/05/2026 21:25

Id say a chest of drawrrs, a wardrobe and perhaps a storage box of out of season clothes is average.

Thats 2-3 times that

Kleptronic · 09/05/2026 21:26

68 tops?? Kinell

WhaleEye · 09/05/2026 21:26

I have about 1/3 of that.

BlessedAreThePureOfHeart · 09/05/2026 21:26

That's an average amount of clothing in a charity shop not in someone's wardrobe!

TheZTeam · 09/05/2026 21:26

I don’t have anything near that.

Eenameenadeeka · 09/05/2026 21:26

I don't have anywhere near that.

TheRozzers · 09/05/2026 21:27

This sounds like my wardrobe so I voted YANBU. However I recognise it’s a lot and more than necessary. I only wear about 10% of it and some are over 10 years old.

Octavia64 · 09/05/2026 21:28

Christ really!

do you work in fashion?

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 09/05/2026 21:28

I’ve probably got more. Definitely more shoes. It’s too much.

mathanxiety · 09/05/2026 21:28

I think you could weed out the cardigans and tops.

Depends on whether all of this is combined work and casual wear though.

WhereHasMyPlanetGone · 09/05/2026 21:28

For a clothes shop? Absolutely.

Confuserr · 09/05/2026 21:29

Did you mean to make your post a question or a statement?
Anyway I probably have more than that. Not as many jeans but lots more coats/jackets. I like clothes (obv) and have to have completely different stuff for work v play. Also I've been pretty much the same size for 20 years and try to look after pieces I like.

henlake7 · 09/05/2026 21:29

No it's not average, but TBH I probably have alot more!
Does it matter how many clothes you have?

fluffydoglove · 09/05/2026 21:29

Are you my sister in law Because she could set up a shop with the amount of clothes she has

NumberOneFanNot · 09/05/2026 21:29

Is this a list of ALL the clothes you've owned since becoming an adult?!

Pamnn82 · 09/05/2026 21:29

Tkmaxx, it’s a nightmare. I think I need to stop taking my debit card to work.

Average is a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and seasonal clothes packed away.

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/05/2026 21:30

You’ve got about enough there to do no washing for 3 months and still have something different to wear everyday. It’s a lot of clothes.

ChangePrivacyQuestion · 09/05/2026 21:30

Jaysus.

I live in a pair of trusty M&S trousers for work, 2 Apricot dresses, a pair of jeans and a pair of pedal pushers that come out in heatwaves. Tops are a cashmere sweater that refuses to die after 16 years, a fatface cardigan and blouse set, one ¾ sleeve breton top and my old uni t-shirt and hoodie. Once in a blue moon a weird tunic I found on a vacation in Cornwall when my ice cream went down my shirt. One outfit from interview days and one special occasions dress. Supermarket leggings and t-shirts at home, with a robe in the winter. Work shoes, winter boots, weekend trainers and a pair of slippers. Mountain warehouse parka and a denim jacket. That's it.

Safarisagoody · 09/05/2026 21:32

Did you actually sit and count your clothes. Like seriously?

Firefly1987 · 09/05/2026 21:32

Maybe if you're Mariah Carey

LaurieFairyCake · 09/05/2026 21:32

I’ve ten times that (old)
