If you had a pub roast dinner at 4pm; would you expect to have a dinner that evening?

Please settle an argument with my DH…

No thank you.

wendywoopywoo222 · 05/04/2026 18:18

I wouldn’t but my partner would

Ineffable23 · 05/04/2026 18:18

No. I would expect anyone who wanted supper could get toast or a sandwich or a bowl of cereal later in the evening.

Easterbunnyhaspackedherbasket · 05/04/2026 18:18

No way.
Greedy buggar!

JacknDiane · 05/04/2026 18:18

No of course not.

Cereal or tea and toast later if peckish.

Babybirdmum · 05/04/2026 18:18

No way! But I eat tea early anyway about 5:30-6:30. If he’s hungry tell him to have a crumpet 🤣

RealEagle · 05/04/2026 18:18

No maybe a sandwich or toast

Ninerainbows · 05/04/2026 18:18

No. I might have some crisps and dip at about 8pm if it were a holiday like Christmas or Easter though.

Onadark · 05/04/2026 18:19

No, tell him to do himself some toast or cereal.

Snorlaxo · 05/04/2026 18:19

What time are you going to bed? If it’s like midnight or later the he’s possibly not unreasonable.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 05/04/2026 18:19

No. But cheese on toast at about 9pm would be amazeballs.

usedtobeaylis · 05/04/2026 18:20

No. Maybe a bit of toast after on at most.

sanityisamyth · 05/04/2026 18:20

No! That would be pretty much all I’d eat all day!

muppahuppapuppa · 05/04/2026 18:20

No

Might have a small ‘snack’ before bed (slice of toast for example)

Besidemyselfwithworry · 05/04/2026 18:20

We had lunch at 2pm and it was a massive roast I’m not overly hungry but I’ve got some cheeses, biscuits, grapes, pickles and then some Easter cakes the kids made so just bits to snack on.

I will refrain from using the term “picky bits” as it boils my blood!

NuffSaidSam · 05/04/2026 18:20

Not a full dinner, but I'd definitely eat again before bed, something light.

Konstantine8364 · 05/04/2026 18:20

I'm a big eater and I wouldn't need a meal, but maybe some crackers or toast later on!

Cricketashes · 05/04/2026 18:21

No. Definitely not.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 05/04/2026 18:21

No.

begonefoulclutter · 05/04/2026 18:21

If I had a large pub roast dinner at lunchtime I wouldn't want another big dinner the same day, let alone if we had the roast at 4.

He's an adult and I assume he knows where the kitchen is. If he wants another dinner he can cook it himself the greedy pig.

OriginalSkang · 05/04/2026 18:21

No

TheCurious0range · 05/04/2026 18:21

We had a roast at 2 ish went out for a walk came back and had pudding about 4:30/5 I won't be having anything for dinner I'm stuffed

tilypu · 05/04/2026 18:21

A meal? Absolutely not.
A snack? Probably.

ShetlandishMum · 05/04/2026 18:21

No. It would be help yourself to a sandwich.

Walker1178 · 05/04/2026 18:21

No, we’d probably just have some snacks - cheese and crackers or doritos and dips
