Ambulances Set on Fire in Suspected Anti Jewish Attack

Horrible news that ambulances run by a Jewish charity have been set on fire in Golders Green today.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyj1p49gdpo

AIBU to feel it's got to to with the rise in anti Jewish hate since the allowance of horrible slogans on the weekly marches and in everyday society? What on earth makes people commit such a horrible attack.

I'm 100% with the Jewish community and pray for peace.

It's obviously awful, not sure what your AIBU is.

StartingStar · 23/03/2026 07:26

@Locutus2000 I've put the AIBU in the thread.

Nosejobnelly · 23/03/2026 07:28

Thank you, OP. This has happened very close to where I live. It’s incredibly shocking. Hatzolah do an amazing job and I often see their ambulances around and about.
I really hope they arrest these cunts as soon as possible and throw away the key.

Nosejobnelly · 23/03/2026 07:30

And yes, in answer to your AIBU, completely agree with you. Antisemitism is being legitimised in this country.

Depahf · 23/03/2026 07:40

They support Jews and non-Jews alike, anyone who calls them. It’s such a vile act that will result in deaths.

StartingStar · 23/03/2026 07:47

@Depahf 100% I forgot to say they go to anyone in need. It's part of the Jewish culture and faith to save lives. It's one of the greatest good deeds.

OP posts:
PurpleThistle7 · 23/03/2026 07:51

I am horrified by the amount of hate it would take for someone to destroy ambulances just because the volunteers working in them are Jewish. These people help anyone in their area - not just Jewish people. They do it on their own time, taking that time away from their friends and family to create a better world and this is their thanks. In a time of stretched nhs resources and so much anger this is going to kill people - and not just Jewish people.

(as a Jewish person living in the uk I am paralysed with fear. I want to run but have nowhere to run to so I’m just bracing myself every day.)

Additup · 23/03/2026 07:56

This is disgraceful and I hope they catch who did this and throw the book at them.
My mind boggles that 5% of respondents think you're being unreasonable. What on earth is wrong with some people?

StartingStar · 23/03/2026 07:56

@PurpleThistle7 Yes it's run by volunteers giving their time and expertise to help. It's such a pure thing to do.

Those that have done this horrible act must be so hate filled it doesn't bear thinking about that they walk amongst us.

I cant imagine very many people will be celebrating this level of vandalism - its abhorrent.
Im not sure about your AIBU - the rise of slogans allowed - in what context? I would have thought that anti-jewish harm was mostly perpetuated by pro-muslim/middle Eastern leaning people as a direct response to Israels military action... its not right and shouldn't be on British streets - where everyone ought to be able to feel safe regardless of their culture.

StartingStar · 23/03/2026 08:00

@Motomum23 slogans like "globalise the intifada" and "from the river to the sea". Chants that some of the Jewish community have said directly contribute to hatred and open the door to violence.

PandoraSocks · 23/03/2026 08:02

It is absolutely horrific. I hope they catch the arsonists ASAP.

And yes, in answer to your AIBU, completely agree with you. Antisemitism is being legitimised in this country.

I also completely agree with you, although I would add that anti Jewish sentiment has been rebranded as "anti Zionism" to make it a bit more palatable to "left" in the Islamo Leftist movement.

HermioneWeasley · 23/03/2026 08:45

Keir Starmer described it at “shocking”. I’m not sure where he’s been that he’s shocked. He and Sadiq Khan have permitted rampant anti semitism on our streets. Jews have been murdered attending their places of worship and still people are allowed to walk chanting for Israeli genocide and with slogans like “globalise the intifada”.

I’m horrified for not just for Jewish people, but for all decency.

TokyoSushi · 23/03/2026 08:49

I have only seen the service on TV, I think it was on something like Ambulance, it looked like they do some brilliant work. What a terrible thing to do.

Oh you would be surprised at the growth of anti semitism in the UK. There will be plenty celebrating- just not openly.

Wellthisisdifficult · 23/03/2026 09:04

The rise of anti semitism, not just in this country but across the West is horrific. Anyone who attended those marches should hang their head in shame because they are a part of the problem. Universities allowing anti Semitic students to remain. The trouble is the useful idiots are so thick they can’t apply critical thinking to see what is happening. How they are being manipulated to become the canon fodder in a movement they refuse to acknowledge exists.

I wonder what it would actually take for them to admit anti semitism and its underlying causes is one of the most worrying situations the West has faced in the last 80 years.

What does that have to do with a Jewish charity in the UK?

So because Palestinians died in the middle east volunteer organisations should be destroyed in London? That... is a strange comparison.

The Intifada has been well and truly globalised. So congratulations to all useful idiots who have been mindlessly chanting for it over the years, your wishes have come true. Well done. You must be so proud of yourselves. And even if you yourself haven't chanted it - if you have attended events where those words are said you have condoned it. Your actions have consequences, and in this case the consequences of you condoning genocidal slogans are four utterly destroyed ambulances in London.

My neighbour had a suspected heart attack. 999 said an ambulance would take at least 2 hours (sadly not an exaggeration), Hatzolah were there within 4 minutes.

Hatzolah helped save people on Bondi beach in December.

Hatzolah transported my (non-Jewish) neighbour home after a long stint in hospital.

People from my local community give up their time to volunteer for Hatzolah. They are on call day, night and during all the Jewish holidays. They set up regular first aid courses so that more people in the community will know what to do in case of a medical emergency. All they want to do is help people. And this is how they're treated.

I will be donating money to Hatzola today. I hope others who are able to will join me in doing so.
