Horrible news that ambulances run by a Jewish charity have been set on fire in Golders Green today.

AIBU to feel it's got to to with the rise in anti Jewish hate since the allowance of horrible slogans on the weekly marches and in everyday society? What on earth makes people commit such a horrible attack.

This ⬆️. I don't know what my Jewish neighbours' opinion on Netanyahu is. It's none of my business. They're British citizens and have the right to live in safely in their own country.
Perhaps some of my other neighbours have questionable politics, I don't know.

But why should we have to? There are plenty of people in the UK with all sorts of views and all sorts of history - and like others have said, that's exactly what multiculturalism means. People can support Russia or Ukraine or Iran or cheer for Portugal in the football or wave an Australian flag during the Olympics... all of that is allowed in a free society. So the idea that there are 'good Jews' and 'bad Jews' and somehow to be allowed to live without fear we are required to be vocal about politics in another country altogether isn't fair. I shouldn't have to have a specific view to be safe.

Sad thing is, the perpetrators are likely to be those who support the Palestinian cause or equally the far right. The Jewish community gets trouble from both sides.

Isn’t this the issue? That this is basically what the “other side” are saying - that you’re NOT entitled to the same level of safety and security as other British citizens IF they support Netanyahu. No, I don't need to explain anything to anyone in order to deserve to be kept safe. If someone is stupid enough to think that all Jews have the same opinion about something then that's on them.

And by the way, even if I agreed with everything Netanyahu has ever said or done (which I don't) - I'd STILL deserve to be kept safe.
