Ambulances Set on Fire in Suspected Anti Jewish Attack

Horrible news that ambulances run by a Jewish charity have been set on fire in Golders Green today.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyj1p49gdpo

AIBU to feel it's got to to with the rise in anti Jewish hate since the allowance of horrible slogans on the weekly marches and in everyday society? What on earth makes people commit such a horrible attack.

I'm 100% with the Jewish community and pray for peace.

I think the rise in anti-Jewish hate is probably due to the actions of the government/military of Israel throughout the conflict with Palestine. Of course it is misplaced. It isn’t the fault of Jewish people and they are not to blame for the actions of the government/military in Israel.

It seems to have emboldened the racists, for sure.

Oh i dont trust MN threads about anything anymore
horrible, divisive, and very very RARELY helpful or truly informative.
there will definitely be bots galore involved in this, and it doesn't sit well with me.

Always amazing how many first-time posters these threads bring out. Like KindTealEagle.

X is full of veiled antisemitic remarks eg "why does the Jewish Community have a separate ambulance service" it infuriates me how we have let anti semitism become so normalised. Needs to stop now.

LassiKopiano24 · 23/03/2026 10:07

Im very sad but sadly not surprised. Idiots with one brain cell will target Jewish people because they lump them with the Israeli gov.

Same for people who target Mosques or Muslims because they lump them in with terrorist groups. People did it with Gay people around Aids, sadly I don’t think it will ever end. Racist/homophobic etc people are all filled with hate and lack intelligence and have a love for violence and destruction.

I’m very glad no one was hurt at least, however now there are ambulances not in use, so that itself will cause harm.

ProudAmberTurtle · 23/03/2026 10:09

Am staggered at the racism on this thread.

It sometimes feels like we're living in 1930s Germany - and these days it almost all comes from the far left

Yup. New century, same old racist talking points. I cannot even imagine fleeing from antisemitism that meant certain death in mainland Europe, so you flee to the UK in the 1940s, and now here we are in 2025, and it’s all happening again. Society always needs an outsider to hate, and people have really perfected their racism now - they hate both newly arrived immigrants AND Jewish families who have been here for centuries, and they use the same justifications for it all.

ScarlettOYara · 23/03/2026 10:04

I think hateful people often use other causes as an outlet for their hate, but that doesn’t make the original cause “part of the problem” if it is well founded.

The Intifada has been well and truly globalised. So congratulations to all useful idiots who have been mindlessly chanting for it over the years, your wishes have come true. Well done. You must be so proud of yourselves. And even if you yourself haven't chanted it - if you have attended events where those words are said you have condoned it. Your actions have consequences, and in this case the consequences of you condoning genocidal slogans are four utterly destroyed ambulances in London.

My neighbour had a suspected heart attack. 999 said an ambulance would take at least 2 hours (sadly not an exaggeration), Hatzolah were there within 4 minutes.

Hatzolah helped save people on Bondi beach in December.

Hatzolah transported my (non-Jewish) neighbour home after a long stint in hospital.

People from my local community give up their time to volunteer for Hatzolah. They are on call day, night and during all the Jewish holidays. They set up regular first aid courses so that more people in the community will know what to do in case of a medical emergency. All they want to do is help people. And this is how they're treated.

I will be donating money to Hatzola today. I hope others who are able to will join me in doing so.

https://hatzola.org/donate/

I was hoping that I’d be able to donate. Will do that right now.

You are giving the culprits too much respect. They are probably idiots looking for a headline - explaining the fact that not all Jews support the attacks on Palestine would be a start

I don't like the implication here that Jews who support Israel defending itself from those who would destroy it, deserve to be attacked in the UK.

Sorry, but no UK citizens should be subject to violence to their bodies, minds or property, not matter what their views on oversees conflicts.

That really should not need to be stated. Its shocking we have got to position where it does need to be stated.

Sorry I don't understand this sentence. Are you aware that there is a significant population of Israeli Arabs and they are even in senior government posts?
My apologies if your post wasn't about that, as I said, I don't understand your sentence.

The Jewish community in the UK are not responsible for the genocide in Gaza. People need to realise that.

And perhaps they need to remember who started all this. Hamas, on 7th October.

The thread is about an arson attack on ambulances in London run by volunteers for all in the wider community.

That now deleted post read as an unhinged rant from a goady Jew hater. Using that handy word to disguise what we can see was really meant.

Engaging brain to look at the issue here is clearly a struggle for that poster.

What I don’t understand are the ‘Why did they do it?’ comments

It seems to me it is due to what the IDF are doing in Palestine or that is the excuse people are using for antisemitic acts.

Why doesn’t someone prominent speak out on behalf of British Jews and say they are not Israeli or connected to what Netanyahu is doing and should not be targeted. Instead people wring their hands (eg Starmer)calling people antisemitic with no context and rail about the rise in antisemitism as if it’s just those evil racist Brits at it again

Edited

Did you think attacks on Muslim people in the UK were understandable after 9/11, and did you blame individual Muslims or British Muslim organisations for not making statements distancing themselves from Al Qaeda?

XelaM · 23/03/2026 10:12

Unfortunately, international criminal's Bibi's behaviour over many years has given rise to a huge wave of anti-semitism across the world.

BlueJuniper94 · 23/03/2026 09:36

I just want the violence and suffering to stop, I was making a comment about the inevitable consequences of multiculturalism more than anything. That ethnic communities gripped by conflict elsewhere will inevitably lead to tension on any soil.

Well I'd like violence and suffering to stop too. But I put the blame on the people commiting the violence rather than 'multiculturalism'.

Remove other ethnicities to stop the violence ? Hmm now where have I heard that before?

You sound like you dont even realise what you're saying.

It's even more bewildering in my situation - family fled Russia in the 1880s and through a series of coincidences ended up in the states. After a series of attacks on friends and family I felt safer immigrating to Scotland. Now this is all happening here too.

So yes, I'm both Jewish 'and' an immigrant so get double the hate. Though I promise I'm a nice person, here legally (and now a citizen), contributing to society, and a regular volunteer at the food bank. And have very complicated feelings about global politics. I hope that is enough justification for whoever needs it. (I'm so tired)

Nope.

Antisemities have given rise to antisemitism.

Its actually not BN's fault that some people hate Jews.

I can't believe people still need this pointed out.

Nosejobnelly · 23/03/2026 10:16

How on earth does "conflict on foreign soil" mean attacking a charity's ambulances?
I am surprised, because I would imagine that intelligent people would separate a Jewish run charity from a war in the ME, but obviously some people aren't capable of that.

I want to be extremely clear that I am in no way justifying the attack on these ambulances. But surely anyone has the basic theory of mind to understand (not agree) why they might be a target?

Nefrititi · 23/03/2026 10:17

Nosejobnelly · 23/03/2026 07:28

Thank you, OP. This has happened very close to where I live. It’s incredibly shocking. Hatzolah do an amazing job and I often see their ambulances around and about.
I really hope they arrest these cunts as soon as possible and throw away the key.

100% this. I’m also not too far from there and also a very Jewish dominant area. Breaks my heart to see security outside the 3 Jewish schools I pass on the way to drop my ds to school.
My hairdresser who is only a young girl is Jewish and said she’s petrified to tell anyone she is for fear of reprisals.
absolutely disgusting

Unfortunately, international criminal's Bibi's behaviour over many years has given rise to a huge wave of anti-semitism across the world.

To be honest, if it weren't for antisemites being antisemitic, Netanyahu wouldn't ever have been voted in. The modern state of Israel started out as a socialist country. But antisemites kept being antisemitic and the country went further and further right in response.

But regardless, that has nothing to do with antisemitism in London. It's an excuse, not a reason. If it were the reason, there wouldn't have been antisemitism before Netanyahu came in to power.
