Was anyone a fan but now is a bit....done?

I was, of her music, didn't really follow her much (her personal life)

But after her shitty album, the texts made public in the BL/JB controversy and now the Opalite video yet AGAIN making digs at her fiances ex, who is now getting bullied online...I just think I see her for who she is and I can't separate the music from the artist

I think I may be a retired 'swiftie'

She's nearing 40 for god's sake....it's all very mean girl

I have been a fan since 2012 but it’s the terrible new album that for me has killed it somewhat - that and the over exposure. I loved Tortured Poets and the Eras tour so much, I feel a bit sad about the whole thing

@keffotine I also loved TPD (despite the bad reviews!), I hate the new album apart from a couple of songs and the overexposure is real.

TTPD is her finest work imo! I love it so much - it’s just a masterpiece. Life of a showgirl couldn’t be further away from it. I can’t even listen to it!

I like her latest album more than Tortured Poets. However I find the "meaning" that is read into every song a bit much.

I did think she would move out of the limelight a bit with her forthcoming wedding but maybe she's too far past that stage now. I would hate the level of scrutiny she gets on everything!

I never considered myself a swiftie but I do like some of her music. I couldn't care less what's going on in her life, not my business, not my problem.

i hadn’t heard about anything particularly egregious in the Blake lively texts? Haven’t we all criticised someone our friend is t getting along with? Which of us would come out of it well if our private texts were exposed in court?

opalite makes vague references to his exes. It’s no secret that people get hurt in relationships that don’t work out. It’s terrible that his ex is being harassed but I don’t see how that’s her responsibility. People are nuts.

I don't think she wants out of the limelight! The wedding looks like it's going to be quite the event!

YANBU OP her silence on Trump and what's happening in America right now has been the biggest let down for me. She has a massive audience she could use for good but says nothing.

I can't work out who she relates to. Shes my age but I can't relate to the heartbreak and list of exes. Maybe if she sang about de-icing the car and dealing with mansplainers at work it might be better.

DD11 attempts to like her and while she likes the upbeat ones the tortured poets songs went straight over her head.

So she must have to constantly think about how to retain older fans and bring in new ones and I think that's pretty tricky.

I think it was the 'plotting' rather than slagging him off. I know if my friend was being SHd i'd be telling her to go to the police rather than help steal his movie (I know we don't know the full details yet but know she isn't looking quite as clean cut as she would like us to believe)

@HermioneWeasley all she would have to do is say, please leave people alone if you think my songs are about them. As a 'feminist' (her) it doesn't sit right with me. The ex is getting so much abuse

That's so funny! Maybe it's that I just can't relate to her anymore. My dd (13) also loves her and her music. Agree about the pop songs vs the more in depth ones... maybe I have outgrown her?

I think a lot of artists came out for the Democrats at the last election, or ant least encouraging people to go out and vote, and a fat lot of good it did. So I don’t know what you expect TS to say. I mean, any sane person would know what’s going on in the USA right now, why does it need spelling out by TS. I think you may have outgrown her. Reading about the minutiae of her private life should be left for teenagers.
