Help us solve a family debate!! If you don’t serve chips what is the best side dish for a quiche?

Salad! Jacket potatoes. Coleslaw

ShortAndIntense · 23/01/2026 18:43

Salad?

NewYearNewMee · 23/01/2026 18:44

For me definitely a garden salad, perhaps new potatoes if you need to stretch the quiche.

Evaka · 23/01/2026 18:44

Salad is far more obvious than chips but chips are far more delicious than salad.

steff13 · 23/01/2026 18:44

I usually serve salad with quiche.

Ponderingpondering · 23/01/2026 18:44

Salad.

molifly · 23/01/2026 18:44

Salad and coleslaw

FourEyesGood · 23/01/2026 18:44

Chips are always appropriate.

Egglio · 23/01/2026 18:45

Mash and beans

AngelsWithSilverWings · 23/01/2026 18:45

Quiche only ever with salad and maybe a bit of coleslaw. Never with chips.

BudgetBuster · 23/01/2026 18:45

Salad and coleslaw or salad a small side of chips.

Not just chips and too heavy then

CoastalGrey · 23/01/2026 18:45

Chips and salad. And maybe coleslaw. Or chips and beans. Really fancy a quiche now.

TwoBlueFish · 23/01/2026 18:45

I usually do new potatoes and salad but chips are acceptable as well

BudgetBuster · 23/01/2026 18:46

Egglio · 23/01/2026 18:45

Mash and beans

Are you confusing a quiche and a sausage 😂

Thingsthatgo · 23/01/2026 18:46

Salad with new potatoes, or potato salad, or crusty bread.

MissyB1 · 23/01/2026 18:46

Baby new potatoes smothered in butter with a side salad. But chips are also very nice, chuck some peas or salad on the plate too.

😂 no it's honestly what we have! I think a 80s school dinner hangover?

TheBlueKoala · 23/01/2026 18:47

Def salade. Or atleast vegetables. Quiche Lorraine is quite rich so to add chips is a bit...weird?

ILoveDuckDuckGo · 23/01/2026 18:47

A lettuce.

pteromum · 23/01/2026 18:48

This thread makes me want to cry!!!!!

I have chickens, I love love love eggs. Quiche is my absolute favourite.

Sadly, for no apparent reason I have developed a very serious egg allergy. WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

so, mouth watering

quiche with salad, chips, coleslaw.
quiche with beans, chips, or mash.
quiche with new potatoes, salad, coleslaw.

quiche in any form at any time.

oooohhh. And beetroot. With all of the above

wannanamechange · 23/01/2026 18:48

New potatoes and salad

tattychicken · 23/01/2026 18:48

Salad, coleslaw, new pots.

Overthebow · 23/01/2026 18:49

I’ve never eaten chips with quiche. Usually I’ll have salad and potato salad or coleslaw.

JanuaryJasmine · 23/01/2026 18:49

Any of the above, then give someone wise the quiche!

TheChosenTwo · 23/01/2026 18:51

I don’t like quiche but I think it’s most usually served at lunchtime with a salad, chips wouldn’t really ‘go’ I don’t think but chips can be way tastier than salad so it wouldn’t be wrong served together if that’s what you fancy!
