To serve chips as a side dish with Quiche Lorraine?

Help us solve a family debate!! If you don’t serve chips what is the best side dish for a quiche?

I love quiche and often order it in cafes, it’s usually served with salad/coleslaw and baby potatoes. But chips sounds delicious too!

If quiche is hot, then some form of potato and vegetables.

If quiche is cold, a hunk of crusty bread and butter and something salady.

Basically treat it as your protein on the plate. But never salad with hot food. I can’t bear it!

Agree as I always do mine hot with the mash and beans. Beans are veg right??

I really need someone else to say they do this, I'm feeling very unusual right now!

If it's height of summer, then cold quiche with salad. But winter quiche is hot.

Cold quiche and hot chip -yum.
I’d have salad and coleslaw in the summer.

I prefer salad , possibly potato salad if I dont get to eat all the quiche in one go

Chips or wedges and beans/spaghetti for dinner. Then leftovers with salad cold the next day for lunch.

My mum would serve it with chips. I’d say salad & coleslaw

Or corn on the cob 🌽

You could have both.

It’s a bit like chips with lasagna IMO - wrong but right! But you need some kind of salad/coleslaw too.

All of the options are lush.

my favs are salad coleslaw new potatoes. then chips then jacket (no actually tried that one but who doesn’t love a jacket?)

Savoury rice is the nicest accompaniment to quiche.

I love it when people call it Quiche Lorraine like they are reading the register or it’s done something wrong.

I don’t know why it makes me laugh.

I remember going to a schoolmate’s house for tea when I was about 8, and her mum served quiche with white rice. I like white rice, but it was an odd combo.

I definitely rate it served with baked beans though (beans don’t rate me, sadly), you can mop up the juice with the pastry. Chips seem like they’d be quite dry, with something that’s already fairly not-moist.

Chip salad

Potato salad. Or maybe a small baked potato, with coleslaw. That goes for all quiches. Add green salad and tomatoes to taste. Or to fill the plate, if the quiche will be eaten by too many people.

Salad, but why are you eating quiche in winter? It’s a summer food

Quiche and chips seems wrong to be tbh, I love both individually but they don't go together. Same with Quiche and potatoes for me. I'd go with a salad.
