It’s the front page of the BBC News app that someone has been charged.

AlwaysHopefull89 · 08/11/2025 23:26

Right I’ve completely missed then thanks!! I checked the daily mail and couldn’t see anything Blush

That’s your problem right there. Try a news source instead.

That's because the Daily Mail is a pile of absolute shite. Even if they had said someone had been charged, I'd be checking it with more reputable sources

Checking the daily mail, may as well check the sunday sport

Don’t talk like that about the Sunday Sport. It’s a brilliant publication.

I cite the following.

Birmingham attack gone quiet ?!
ThatRoseBear · 08/11/2025 23:31

This has scared the shit out of me, that poor woman literally just waiting for a bus. I was out in Birmingham last night and because I am now more worried about safety caught the train home from New St Station at 9.20, but entered from the other side so didn't see this.

There but for the grace of god we go. I really hope she makes a full recovery and he gets a decent sentence.

Women seem to be the easy pickings currently.

Disgusting comment, you should be ashamed

ProudPearl · 08/11/2025 23:36

Why are people jumping on the OP with smartarse comments? Do you understand that someone has been stabbed? Some of us are interested in the details of this because we live in Birmingham and want to know what's happened.

ShenandoahRiver · 08/11/2025 23:37

A British national has been charged.

Very touchy subject at the moment so probably not the smartest question to ask MN of all places…! Hmm

ProudPearl · 08/11/2025 23:39

There's nothing wrong with asking a question. If people have no information they can just scroll on by. If they do have information they could just share it without the attitude.
People can be such twats!

ShenandoahRiver · 08/11/2025 23:41

Djeison Rafael, 21, has also charged with two counts of assault and possession of blade after incident in city centre.
All the information is in the public domain if you search for it.

saraclara · 08/11/2025 23:43

Let's face it, most of the time when people ask why the news on an attack has gone quiet, it's because they think that the attacker is an asylum seeker and it's being covered up.

AlwaysHopefull89 · 08/11/2025 23:43

do we know why this happened though ? It’s saying it was unprovoked? I do have family in Birmingham so this is just so worrying.

I do hope the woman makes a drastic recovery this is absolutely horrendous.

Not in my case, no.

I really hope MNHQ go back to deleting people for this rudeness.

ShenandoahRiver · 08/11/2025 23:46

There are multiple unprovoked attacks.
Mental health issues, drug issues, just plain no explanation issues.

Mewling · 08/11/2025 23:49

Why is your title “Birmingham Attack Gone Quiet?!” when it’s on the front page of the BBC app? Are you trying to imply some kind of cover up? Just out of curiosity, what part of Birmingham is your family located?
