What’s your prediction of the next cause the ‘activists’ are going to move into, after Gaza?

Seems like they’re getting bored of Palestine now that it’s a bit awkward talking about Hamas killing Palestinians in the streets.

so what do we think the next big cause is that they’re going to move onto? Do we think they'll finally bother to start talking about the awful crisis in Sudan? Or is there a trendier topic emerging?

McVitie’s decision to reduce the amount of cocoa in the chocolate covering their chocolate biscuits, the the extent it can no longer be described as chocolate. Something has got to be done.

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/10/2025 00:31

Tens of thousands of people have died in the war in Gaza. Real people. Children, adults, Israelis, Palestinians, Christians, Jews, Muslims etc. Many, many more are disabled, injured, traumatised and homeless.

What is wrong with you that you need to turn this real war into a culture war @Dangeos?Hmm

OonaStubbs · 18/10/2025 23:32

They are idiots who do far more harm to their cause than they help.

And how in your opinion should they have helped? Sitting at home and saying ‘oh dear but what else could the Israelis have done apart from decimate a population and their homes?’

like it or not international pressure of protests and boycott and disruption is how we achieve change in the world. From voting rights to ending apartheid

Tiredofwhataboutery · 19/10/2025 00:37

I assume it’s back to energy protests or digital ID. I do think the next big thing will be China occupying Taiwan in the next year or two. Do you support a people wanting to be independant who are also responsible for pretty much all the chips that fuel AI which is incredibly energy intensive.

Decisions, decisions …

Custardcream84 · 19/10/2025 00:37

It’s free Palestine until Palestine is free so no one is about to move on

JudgeJ · 19/10/2025 00:38

starsinthedarksky · 18/10/2025 18:40

And what are you doing to help homelessness in the UK?

Probably as much as those cluttering up our streets with their demonstrations supporting the terrorists, maybe they should have the guts to go there and demonstrate.

And let's also be festive and protest about Roses, Celebrations etc, that's a disgrace, next year there'll be empty boxes.

Palestine is free, Hamas are looking after them now.

Mrsknowitall · 19/10/2025 00:44

It would actually be nice if they started protesting for peace for the Christian people of Congo that are being slaughtered by Islamist terrorist, but that will never happen.

Have you organised a protest people can turn up to?

The useful idiots will no doubt find another murderous regime to support

Had they been supporting Israel all this time? I really must keep up.

Custardcream84 · 19/10/2025 16:06

Interesting how Israel has attacked Gaza and killed multiple civilians and children since the ‘ceasefire’ - as we all knew they would. So no we won’t ’move on’ because we need to raise our voices for Palestine and always will. We dont accept a genocide being brushed under the carpet and until there is justice and the perpetrators are brought to task and even then we will never forget what was done.

I don't think people will ever stop the activism for Palestine, sorry to disappoint you OP.

Edited

Oh they will! The weather is turning now so there won’t be as many marches or whatever.

The genocide committed by the Israeli government and the IDF in Gaza will never be forgotten or moved on from by the majority of the outraged citizens around the world. Especially the citizens in those countries whose leaders aided and abetted Israel by supplying weapons and resouces that enabled Israel to commit the genocide.

Your minimising of the tens of thousands of deaths of children in Gaza caused by the insatiable demand for vengeance of the Israeli ultra right wing government is truly appalling.

I think it will be something around protesting against old people owning property, you see a lot of that sort of rhetoric amongst those types,

OnlyHereForTheChristmasBoard · 19/10/2025 16:42

We're going to nationalise David Miliband.

3/10 - must try harder, OP.

Exactly - marches happened through the last 2 winters, because people actually care about this.

Just because you can't grasp the concept of supporting something even when it's not convenient or pleasant, don't assume other people are as lacking in conviction.

Marches didn't stop in the winters of 2024 or 2023, so you're going to have to get used it 🙏

Shrewsbury247 · 19/10/2025 18:18

They’ll never need to stop protesting about the plight of the Palestinians, the bloodlust of the Israeli gov is never ending!

Don't assume anything. I support all those who are the victims of murderers.

LozzaCh0ps · 19/10/2025 19:09

I’m under no illusions about what Hamas are, but the barely-suppressed smug satisfaction that some people have about what they’re up to now is really distasteful.

Martymcfly24 · 19/10/2025 19:12

I hope whatever it is next pisses off the usual suspects on Mumsnet as much.
