Which country will you move to if Reform win next election?

Faced with the prospect of NHS being sold off, ICE-style immigration raids and deportations, emboldened bigots, changes to the school curriculum, public services dessimated, leaving EHCR, I honestly think I'll have no choice but to leave. I don't want to but I couldn't bring DC up in fascist state.

Luckily my DH, DC and I are all dual nationals of an EU country so we have an escape route if needed and this country goes to the dogs.

Where would you go?

North Korea..be a bit more freedom 🤣🤣

SomersetBrie · 15/09/2025 20:29

We have Irish passports so that's one option. If I had the money I quite fancy Switzerland.

Yes I was thinking Ireland too

I can get dual citizenship for a very lovely place - so that’s an option for me.

I think in this day in age post-Brexit, dual citizenship is a God send. A British passport used to be enough but it's becoming less and less valuable after we left EU.

🙄

MajesticWhine · 15/09/2025 20:33

I have nowhere to go. DH could go to the U.S. with work but I’m not moving anywhere. I doubt it would be as bad as you think.

TheEyesOfLucyJordon · 15/09/2025 20:33

I'm staying. I like the UK 😍

Can everyone please stop coming to Ireland we barely have enough houses for ourselves to be honest!

PacificState · 15/09/2025 20:35

Me and DP have discussed this, half-seriously. Sadly we are so lacking in transferable skills (and so old) that I can’t imagine anyone would be happy to take us. We are becoming resigned to our future working in Farage’s social media bot gulag. (Either that or Scotland)

You're welcome to come to Scotland.🙋

Canopop · 15/09/2025 20:37

This is scaremongering I don’t know anyone in real life who supports reform I really hope it isn’t a thing 😢

I think Scotland could be a safe haven still as they are much more progressive up there. Although I think Reform also want to concentrate more power back in Westminster, not sure what that would mean for devolution.

I actually live in Wales right now. For the Senedd elections in 2026 I'm voting Plaid Cymru. I'm not a Welsh nationalist but they're only party that cares about Wales

I’m going nowhere. Even if I could (at 64 with no dual citizenship we can’t) I’m not going to run away, or give in to the likes of farage (or Corbyn for that matter).

sharlink · 15/09/2025 20:39

So are you all saying you would prefer Labour to stay in ? I'll be voting for reform.

Holluschickie · 15/09/2025 20:40

Not going anywhere. And we are brown. Unlikely to move out of London though.

I will wait for the long wheel of justice to turn.

They do. They just don’t admit it. Sadly I think reform is a very real possibility.

It's a real real possibility they will get in. I don't want it at all but just look at what's going on and the dark money funding them. It important to be realistic and plan ahead.

I was completely caught off guard by Brexit, never thought it would happen. Turned TV off at 10pm that night. Won't do the same this time.

Farage wants power and he has the backers to get him there

This thread is just catastrophising imo

Xiaoxiong · 15/09/2025 20:41

Dual US/UK citizen so...yeah.

Anyway I love this country and want to help fix it. I chose to live here and then become a naturalised British citizen and I feel genuinely patriotic, which is probably the least British thing I could feel Blush

Why does everyone think if you don't like Reform then you love Labour???

No I don't like Labour, they're a terrible disappointment, there are no decent parties anymore apart from some of the smaller ones

Elon Musk addressing the rally and urging people to fight gave me a turn. He will back Farage with his money.

Would you move if Labour got in again though? Or just if Reform do
