Which country will you move to if Reform win next election?

Faced with the prospect of NHS being sold off, ICE-style immigration raids and deportations, emboldened bigots, changes to the school curriculum, public services dessimated, leaving EHCR, I honestly think I'll have no choice but to leave. I don't want to but I couldn't bring DC up in fascist state.

Luckily my DH, DC and I are all dual nationals of an EU country so we have an escape route if needed and this country goes to the dogs.

Where would you go?

This thread is just catastrophising imo

If Reform het in then it will be a catastrophe.

Farage is an admirer or Putin, been on Russian TV 17 times. Will do things to appease American right wing backers eg roll back abortion rights

People have no idea what they are about to unleash.

I'll stay unless I win the lottery. Reform,Tories,Labour,SNP..all lying cunts do it makes no difference who is in power tbh.

Canopop · 15/09/2025 20:40

For what reasons?

Flags and roundabouts..it's about all they've got.
One of their councils wanted to make painting roundabouts white with red cross official.
Yes because that's what local communities need most.
Imbeciles!!

People always talk of moving somewhere else, somewhere better, but the reality is that there isn’t anywhere without problems. So you’re just moving from one set of problems to another.

And the reality is that the far right is gaining ground across a lot of the world, so moving away from the UK isn’t going to necessarily be any different, added to which you will be an immigrant, and the world at large doesn’t like those, it’s not just the UK.

LakieLady · 15/09/2025 20:46

France would be my first choice (I have two sets of friends in Charente) but I don't know if that would be possible post-Brexit, especially as I'm a pensioner.

If not, I'm afraid it would be Ireland. I was rather taken with Galway City when I was there a few years ago.

Elon Musk addressing the rally and urging people to fight gave me a turn. He will back Farage with his money.

This exactly. Just like with Trump

It's the rich calling the shots

I already left, the Conservatives were bad enough!

Fair point, I'm aware of this too. Maybe grass not greener

I think it's also a disappointment in me when I see how many British people fall hook line and sinker for Farage and co

What a load of hysterical nonsense.

As a pro-European centrist I certainly won’t be voting for Reform, but I won’t be panicking about them winning the next election either. Farage isn’t a budding dictator or an unhinged psychopath or even a narcissistic orange moron like Trump. He is a legitimate mainstream democratic politician with whom I happen to disagree on most issues. Just like Margaret Thatcher was. Or Jeremy Corbyn. The fact that Farage absolutely refuses to work with or share platforms with Tommy Robinson or allow him anywhere near Reform speaks volumes.

Zeborah · 15/09/2025 20:50

Maybe you could try Poland 🤣

But he'll go on Russian TV and praise Putin?

He presents himself well but there probably lots behind closed doors we don't know or see

Will stay and carry on hoping for change.
Don't think I should be hounded out of my own country but too old and useless to be welcomed anywhere else anyway.

Krenonges · 15/09/2025 20:30

Yes I was thinking Ireland too

Which country are you going to, as most seem to be going far right in the EU?

He also went in front of Congress to say the UK is like North Korea. Underestimate him at your peril

I’m going nowhere. Even if I could (at 64 with no dual citizenship we can’t) I’m not going to run away, or give in to the likes of farage (or Corbyn for that matter).

Theoretically everyone here can move to Ireland because of the common travel area. I am not sure what would happen if everyone actually tried to though.

Well I have an Italian passport but I think Italy is quite far right now so that's a no

Maybe Spain? But very hoy. Or Switzerland?

Winning the lottery would help

Can everyone please stop coming to Ireland we barely have enough houses for ourselves to be honest!

Neither does England

Maybe come back to the thread if they win and see how many takers for moving

This is scaremongering I don’t know anyone in real life who supports reform I really hope it isn’t a thing 😢

unfortunately there are lots

Araminta1003 · 15/09/2025 20:54

I have decided to stay and fight the Manosphere idiots, including Musk and Farage, but I will send my DC abroad to contribute there.
There is no way I am going to believe that Farage and his merry-men of disenfranchised angry bigots represent England.
Hopefully common sense will prevail and there will be some sort of merger of the centrist reasonable status quo. They will just have to put their partisan shite to one side, when push comes to shove.

queenofwandss · 15/09/2025 20:54

Reform are coming- the left isn’t doing enough to mobilise against them in my opinion. I am a lifelong Labour voter but wouldn’t vote for them again apart from to stop Reform. Sadly, where I live, I don’t think it will be enough.

As for moving, if we were still in EU I would move to France or Spain. I would have to change jobs but can develop on language skills rather than starting fresh. For a better job prospect maybe Australia/NZ. I can’t move due to personal circumstances, but often fantasise about it!

Ivegotanearlymorning · 15/09/2025 20:55

My husbands from Saudi Arabia, so there!

Jamesblonde2 · 15/09/2025 20:55

Kneenightmare · 15/09/2025 20:55

sharlink · 15/09/2025 20:39

So are you all saying you would prefer Labour to stay in ? I'll be voting for reform.

Yep 100%

Fangisnotacoward · 15/09/2025 20:55

I dont have another option, ill be stuck 😭
