I'm just interested to see how many people like this weather, compared to how many hate it (me)

OP posts:
Portakalkedi · 11/07/2025 22:54

Yes, hate it, much prefer grey cloudy skies. In the NW so not as bad as down south, and the house stays cool, but can't bear to go out except late evening.

Livpool · 11/07/2025 23:23

It does make me chuckle that those who love code and damp weather scoff at the rest of us when it is cold and damp by saying we just need different clothing. In the summer they feel the worst ever.

Cold/damp/wet - 10 months (minimum)
Hot/dry/sunny -2 months (maximum)

I love it - proper summer weather! I'm enjoying having the windows and doors open, being outside, wearing my shorts and flip flops, kids in the paddling pool, drinking iced coffees.... I know some people hate the heat but for me it's great. It will be winter before know it and then we will be complaining about the cold and rain!

I do all of that at 21 degrees, I don’t see the enjoyment for anything over 25

Droplet789 · 12/07/2025 05:11

8 months pregnant and I work outside! Absolutely hating it.

BaileyHorse · 12/07/2025 06:49

Early 20s is fine for me. Early 30s not so much. It’s Saturday and I’m up at stupid o clock as the dog needs to be walked before it gets too warm. Pah! No doubt we will all moan when it’s winter tho! 🤣

Countrylife2002 · 12/07/2025 07:04

Weather app is showing me a few days of potential glorious rain next week - hold on folks!!

Countrylife2002 · 12/07/2025 07:05

Am also up about to walk the dog or she goes nuts, visiting family today so leaving her with 3 fans running and a shedload of water . I know where I’d rather be!

Countrylife2002 · 12/07/2025 07:05

Oh arse there’s another 28 showing on the horizon!!
BRING ON AUTUMN

Magnir · 12/07/2025 07:07

Looks like 20c today, here in Sheringham, 28 at home

Icebreakhell · 12/07/2025 07:17

The humidity in the SE is hideous. I’ve been fine at 40c in dry heat, but we don’t get that here. Plus the pavements and roads soak it up, there isn’t enough shelter. Our houses aren’t adapted for heat. Public transport isn’t air conditioned.

middleagedandinarage · 12/07/2025 07:22

Just taken the dog for a walk before it gets too hot, I'm still sweating, off for my 1st cold shower of the day!

RampantIvy · 12/07/2025 08:50

I like the look of this for next week. Although we are desperate for more rain.

I must be one of the few people on here that isn’t bothered when it’s very warm or when it is cold.

Although I must admit that I am not particularly keen on grey and miserable.

TarquinsTurnips · 12/07/2025 08:57

I swear I live in the basin of hell of the heatwave in the UK, south east, not much green cover near by.

Mixed feelings. It gives me huge nostalgia for childhood summers. Love an all day clear blue sky. It's magic. Also a deep dry heat in July, and the golden hour when the sun starts to go down.

My favourite time is about 7.30pm though, when it's gone down to about 24-25 degrees.

Autumn38 · 12/07/2025 09:00

I love it. Much better than dark, cold and wet. I’m slim though so feel the cold way more than the heat.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 12/07/2025 09:03

I love it

Who needs to go abroad when you have endless days of sunshine and hot weather. Also everything is so much better with a bit of sun.

Although it's not dry heat which is better, there's no air, a breeze would help.

My cats are suffering a bit though, one can't find a cool spot so I feel terribly sorry for him. He moves from the chair in my office, to the hallway floor, to the windowsill, back to the chair.

Bryonyberries · 12/07/2025 09:06

I’m enjoying it this week because I’m on holiday in Cornwall. The sea has been lovely. It is also a little cooler here than it is at home (East Anglia). If I was home and at work I’d not be loving it so much!

SparklyBrickViper · 12/07/2025 09:07

Absolutely loving it!

Being able to eat dinner outside, attend outdoor events without raincoats, sandals without soggy feet.

It will soon be back to layers and drizzle. Long, dark evenings aren’t personally something to look forward to, so I’ll make the most of feeling the heat on my skin and brighter days.

I’m on medication that means I can’t sit in direct sunlight, so hat, bottled water, loose clothing and shade.

Keepyourheartopenandyoureyeswideshut · 12/07/2025 09:09

I despise this hot, humid and sticky especially as I'm in perimenopause but It's the school holidays coming up soon so you can guarantee the weather will turn shit.

Alltheyellowbirds · 11/07/2025 21:58

What? I was on them for years and had no idea this was a thing! Is this common?

I've been on them for 31 years and struggled with over heating the whole time, even in the winter

to hate this weather?
Kazzybingbong · 12/07/2025 17:45

I absolutely love it but I haven’t even really been out in it as it’s too hot 🤣 but I don’t want it to go, it makes me happy.

Though our animals are suffering. Dogs want to go out but they also can’t handle it and the poor pony is having to spend the afternoon in his stable as he’s sweating just standing there.

I’m weird, I love sleeping in the heat. Just a sheet and a fan - heaven!

Problem is if you book a holiday in this country, you can guarantee that it will rain. Past couple of short breaks in this country, I didn't had to pack any trousers, hoodies.

HarperStern · 12/07/2025 18:26

I'm loving this weather, but I'm on the coast and temps are never as high here, plus there's a sea breeze, plus I've just been for a swim in the sea followed by an ice cream. I know I'm unlikely to be making many friends here...Grin

BCBird · 12/07/2025 18:30

Glad there's just me in my king size😄 terrible here in Midlands.

MyspecialMug · 12/07/2025 18:31

I'm fair and find the heat too much, it just drains me. I try avoid it. Blinds down, windows open trying to keep the place cool.
I do enjoy washing everything and hanging out to dry..
Have the sofa covers out now.
I would welcome a clap of thunder and a downpour, I'll gladly dance in the rain.
But I'm happy for everyone who is enjoying it.
