to hate this weather?

I'm just interested to see how many people like this weather, compared to how many hate it (me)

I love it!
Done a few dog walks today (my own and my job) and I’ve spent the afternoon naked in my garden topping up my tan.
We get so few days like these - they are to be treasured!

MadisonAvenue · 11/07/2025 16:52

It’s horrible, I’ve never enjoyed Summer.
20° is my limit, plus I’m pale and blonde and my arms react in sunlight leaving me with an itchy stinging rash so I have to keep them covered.

RightOnTheEdge · 11/07/2025 16:53

YANBU. It makes me miserable. Its 31C here and I can't stand it!

Ive been running around serving people all day and there's no air con at my work.
My house is boiling, if I open the windows we get invaded by thunderbugs and the fans are just blowing hot air around.
I am sweaty and miserable. 😭

Cgbm157 · 11/07/2025 16:55

Hate it! Have a 2 month old clingy baby that loves contact naps. Mid 20s is ok but 30+ has been tough.

TheDandyLion · 11/07/2025 16:55

Its not ideal but its not like I can't deal with it.

Seagull5 · 11/07/2025 16:57

33 here utter hellish

BlackeyedSusan · 11/07/2025 16:59

I'm ok with up to 28 degrees indoors if I've had time to acclimatise. (Definitely this year)

But it's been getting over 30. Two degrees makes a big difference. Three days ago got the flat down to 26 overnight but apart from that it's been at 28 for weeks it feels...

CoubousAndTourmalet · 11/07/2025 17:01

Hate hot weather. Always did, always will. I find it boring not being able to get out and have a decent walk. I physically cannot cope with heat and brightness because of asthma & migraine. I feel bloated, I can't eat or sleep.

I also have big woolly dogs that are miserable in the heat and it stresses me out to see them suffer.

Me but I don’t complain in public 🤣🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🤣

SovietSpy · 11/07/2025 17:05

Personally I feel 21/22 and sunny is enough in the UK and that can feel nice and warm in the middle of summer.
however the key is it cooling at night. Ideally down to 13 or so. Otherwise the heat just stays in your house and sleeping is awful

StrugglingwithIvanhoe · 11/07/2025 17:05

I normally like it, but I am on antivirals for shingles at the moment so I have to avoid bright sun. Also, it's too hot and humid to be trying to deal with the awful rash. :-(

PistachioTiramisu · 11/07/2025 17:07

I love it - it's so uplifting to see a clear blue sky, to feel the sun on your face and being able to walk around the garden without gale force winds buffeting you! What a contrast to those perpetually dark days of autumn and winter with torrential rain, grey skies, and yet more wind!

SerafinasGoose · 11/07/2025 17:11

TotallyAddictedToCoffee · 11/07/2025 16:06

I don't mind it as much now I'm 9st lighter.... but this time last year I'd have been fucking dying!!!

Congratulations! That’s brilliant.

KimberleyClark · 11/07/2025 17:12

30 degrees here. My skin doesn’t like it, makes me itchy especially my feet.

whatcanthematterbe81 · 11/07/2025 17:13

Doesn’t feel that hot to me (London) but we’re all different. I didn’t think I was too good in the heat but I’ve seen lots of moany threads about 30• and I’m quite comfortable so maybe I’m better in the heat than I thought 😂

TheChosenTwo · 11/07/2025 17:15

if you’re too hot Yanbu to hate it if you do.
i fucking love it so much so I don’t hate it at all.
I don’t hate any weather, actually quite like the dark months with short days and the inbetween.
But heat recharges me and fills my cup so I’ll never be moaning about the sun personally.

JohnTheRevelator · 11/07/2025 17:16

I bloody hate it. Can't wait for it to cool down next week. I'm spending the whole time sweating and feeling exhausted. I was not designed to cope with 34 degree heat. 22 is fine, even 24 or 25. But why do people think that because 22 is nice (as I do) that being 34 must be even better? I actually asked a hot weather lover the other day what was so good about it, and he said 'Because it's hot'. Right. That explains it then. 🤔 And my mood is not improved by the media keep trumpeting about how 'wonderful' it is,using the usual clichéd words like 'basking' 'sizzling', and 'enjoying'. In my world, the words 'enjoying' and '34 degree heat' do not occur in the same sentence. Add to all this is the fact that a certain proportion of the population start feeling the need to behave like utter wankers the moment the temperature goes above 30 degrees. You know the type, stereo blaring full blast in their car (or even worse, back garden), stinking barbecues giving off copious smoke so you can't even have a window open, and people just generally being rowdy and obnoxious. I'm not a fan of freezing weather (doesn't help my arthritic joints) but give me spring or autumn any day.

StrongandNorthern · 11/07/2025 17:17

It's AWFUL!
Hot,sweaty, exhausted. Caring for hot, fractious toddler all day.
Dripping.
My garden will die (hosepipe ban).
How can anyone like this?

Canijustsayonething · 11/07/2025 17:20

Awful. I hate the really hot weather.

22 with a tiny breeze is perfect.

I love seeing the sun and blue skies, it definitely lifts the spirits but when it's 30+, it's not pleasant at all...😑

Yes, I would not like to be unwell or pregnant in this. It’s very hot where I am today but not so humid, so I’m finding this much more tolerable.

Not keen on those humid days when your clothes feel limp on your body an hour after you put them on.

forthistimeonly · 11/07/2025 17:25

I love it! I'm on the SE coast so we enjoy a sea breeze. I've been outside sunbathing most of the day, reading. I have a frozen bottle of water to cool me down (I roll it over me then pour it over me when it melts) and an iced drink. I pop inside when I'm too hot but mostly, I'm outside.
I was in London yesterday and it was a bit uncomfortable as no breeze, but here, it's lovely.
I hope it lasts all summer. I'm 54 and menopausal and feeling the heat a bit more than I did years ago; but the sun is lovely.

munchingmunch · 11/07/2025 17:26

I like hot but not 30 in London. Sticky & sweaty

Abracadabra12345 · 11/07/2025 17:26

LightCameraBitchSmile · 11/07/2025 16:32

Love it! It’s only 36% humidity in London so maybe that’s why it’s not bad?

Thank you, I was surprised to read about the humidity because it’s not bad here in the SE. 37 degrees BUT rising 😱

DeadMemories · 11/07/2025 17:26

Love it, took some days off work so I can laze about in the sunshine, sure the aircon at work is nice but I prefer to sit in the garden, sometimes in the shade, sometimes in the sun, just love it, makes me feel happy.

At night, windows open and the fan on, sleep ok, DH has been told to keep his hands to himself.

Summerartwitch · 11/07/2025 17:27

I don't mind it but only because I live in a seaside town in the South East and we always get a breeze from the sea.

I used to live in London and absolutely hated hot days there...
