I'm just interested to see how many people like this weather, compared to how many hate it (me)

32 degrees here and I have had a headache for 3 days now. I am indoors from 12pm - 7pm. Anything above 25/26 degrees unless it's next to the sea or a pool is too much for me.

No I’ve been busy researching and they’re very eco efficient these days . Can also heat in winter which means less need for gas boiler heating whole house . I’m sold even if it will take me a year to pay off the credit card !!

Myself and my dog will snooze the heatwaves away in our lovely cool house next summer

They use energy to move the heat from inside to outside. Unless that energy, is renewable (or nuclear) generated then they will contribute to climate change.

LittlleMy · 11/07/2025 18:44

YANBU Have had a headache most most of the day which my trusty aspirin was unable to shift so imagine it was heat related. Also if you need to get up early work it’s awful because of lack of sleep. Also wfh today and had a 2 hr deadline for new piece of work and I just constantly felt like Dorothy on the poppy field scene! 😅

EasternStandard · 11/07/2025 18:45

I love it but do want rain at nice intervals just to keep
hose pipe ban at bay and water garden

MB34 · 11/07/2025 18:45

I'm loving it.
I've always been a freezer (was told by my Dr in the 20s that nothing was wrong and the only solution would be to move abroad).

I was looking forward to perimenopause and the hot flushes, but nope - still freezing!

Don't get me wrong - I am a sweaty mess in anything over 30 degrees but I also sleep really well in the heat.

Chipsahoy · 11/07/2025 18:45

Loving it in NE Scotland. Highs of 26c. Nice breeze. Perfect

It’s awful. I hate it. Surely the only people who truly like it are those who don’t have to work? It’s miserable for everyone stuck indoors working without AC. The only place for this weather is by a pool or seashore with a cold drink.

I work full time, spend my day between non air-conditioned offices and walking in the sun but I still love this weather.

Much prefer it to drizzle or just grey and I'll be gutted for the kids if the minute they break up from school the weather turns crap again.

twiddlingthumbs69 · 11/07/2025 19:02

I absolutely hate it. I’ve just bought an AC unit but it’s not coming til Sunday (when the weather cools down). I don’t care though, I’m putting it on anyway!

I’ve largely stopped flying (use trains) so I guess I’m offsetting!

Hate it

Anjo2011 · 11/07/2025 19:22

I like the sun, the humidity is harder to deal with. I like all of things that good weather allows you to do outdoors but I really struggle to sleep when it’s this warm. Saying that, winter is long so I will take positives of the better weather and try not to complain too much.

Odiebay · 11/07/2025 19:24

Can't stand it
Can't sleep and it mKe me so tired!
Really struggled even working from home today . Being on calls and finding I'm just sweating!

I'm escaping down to the in-laws tonight for a lovely 23 degrees!

ArtfulPinkBird · 11/07/2025 19:24

Yanbu. It's too much when it's like this. Caring for an already poorly toddler today has been absolutely hellish with the heat on top. Like someone further up thread said, roll on autumn weather!

Alltheyellowbirds · 11/07/2025 19:24

28 degrees in my part of Scotland today, can’t remember when anything last made me so happy 😎 We don’t get it as often as you southern types do.

MomsGotInk · 11/07/2025 19:29

It’s 32 degrees here atm, my daughter had sports day yesterday & the parents were all sat for more than 2 hours in the open with zero shade- that was a bit much. I do prefer this to cold & rain but my 2 big dogs are struggling & since perimenopause I’ve noticed I don’t cope with the heat as well as I did. Don’t worry tho, this is the UK so no doubt it will be back to chucking it down by next week…

Not really surely you could do neither which would be even better.

Luckyingame · 11/07/2025 19:53

Retired, no problem here. Very few pieces of clothes to wash, no need to tend to mowing the lawn (what lawn?).
Better than rain, mud, dirt and wet spectacles.

Yes! And fewer clothes to put on every morning. I love just throwing on a pair of loose trousers, a top and flip flops, no faffing with socks/tights, boots, jumpers, coats... Out the door in minutes. It feels so free. To think there are lucky sods elsewhere who live like this for months on end.

Endofyear · 11/07/2025 20:33

I used to be such a cold person and enjoyed the sunshine. Now I'm 54 and hot ALL the time 😩 even in normal weather, I'm hot at night, my feet are boiling! In this weather, I've got a fan on me, no covers and an ice pack from the freezer wrapped in a teatowel! I've had 3 cold showers today too 😳 I'm irritable, uncomfortable and not much fun to be around! Roll on Winter - I want to be chilly!

Auburngal · 11/07/2025 20:49

This morning, I went to the gym. It’s got AC. Though the five minute walk at 9:40 and 10:20, I was dripping - that I changed t-shirts.

Got a cooling towel and it’s brilliant

strugglingwithlife · 11/07/2025 20:59

Hate it. UK heat is horrible. I'm on SSRIs which makes it worse, I overheat so easily. Even in the winter I get too hot so this is horrendous

I am too that’s what I think is making it unmanageable for me. I’m on them for life hence I need to adapt my house to accommodate. I used to enjoy hot weather

What? I was on them for years and had no idea this was a thing! Is this common?

DiscoNights · 11/07/2025 22:09

I’m on SSRIs and I still love the heat and hate the cold!

Also, I know someone who was prescribed Prozac for menopausal hot flashes and no mh issues at all.

troppibambini6 · 11/07/2025 22:47

Absolutely love it. Doesn’t stop me from sleeping I just open the window and leave a fan on. I love just being able to put denim shorts on and a vest and not think about jackets and hoodies. I just love being warm and feeling the sun on me.
