To ask what you'd think of a 20+ stone woman lying on beach?

I'm alone on a uk beach, taking in the sun.

Will people likely be thinking the old beached whale thing?

No. HTH. Enjoy.

LoveSkaMusic · 20/05/2025 12:05

No. You're fine. Enjoy yourself!

BIWI · 20/05/2025 12:05

I’d be thinking that you were enjoying the sun.

Neolara · 20/05/2025 12:06

No. The only thing I'm thinkin is, lucky you, I'd like to be sunbathing on a beach right

KimberleyClark · 20/05/2025 12:06

No,I’d think you were having a nice time.

PinataHeeHaw · 20/05/2025 12:07

Aw thank you. I'm so relaxed but also a bit on edge knowing people can be judgemental.

Hi @PinataHeeHaw
Personally i would be thinking about "me things" - thirsty, enough sunscreen, when do I want lunch. I dont care or concern myself about anyone's weight (or shape/hair/fashion etc).

Why do you ask?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 20/05/2025 12:08

I would think 'there's a woman lying on the beach. I'd better not go over there or my dog will goose her with her cold nose and woman looks as though she's enjoying herself'.

ThejoyofNC · 20/05/2025 12:08

Some might, but they're not the type with opinions worth valuing. There are shitty people no matter where you go.

Enjoy your day in the sun!

CandidRaven · 20/05/2025 12:08

I wouldn't think anything of it at all, people are entitled to enjoy the beach no matter how big they are

Seawolves · 20/05/2025 12:10

Judging you for your weight says more about them than it does about you. Enjoy your time on the beach, I am jealous as I am stuck at home with some very lovely but noisy workmen!

Brightsunpen · 20/05/2025 12:10

People think about you a lot less than you think they do I promise

bogan36 · 20/05/2025 12:11

I would be jealous of your confidence tbh. I’m not going to lie and say I wouldn’t register your size, of course I would, but having also been 20 stone I only ever saw people my size doing things and mentally applauded them for being so able to do it. Even now I’m a few stone down and I can’t do things I want to like exercise or sunbathing because I feel so self conscious.

Enjoy your day it’s such beautiful weather just now

TheNightingalesStarling · 20/05/2025 12:11

Unless you ate lying there naked (on a non nudist beach) I doubt I would even notice.

TheLimeQuail · 20/05/2025 12:12

She must be having a nice time

Mumofsoontobe3 · 20/05/2025 12:12

I wouldn’t judge. Might be a bit jealous though! Enjoy the sunshine and soak it all up whilst we’ve still got it!

Koazy · 20/05/2025 12:12

Nope

hamstersarse · 20/05/2025 12:13

I'd be thinking she's getting a good dose of Vitamin D

BedDeskCarpet · 20/05/2025 12:15

I would be thinking, I hope shes wearing sunscreen. I burn really easily so it makes me conscious of others doing the same. Shape or size would not occur to me.

ChidisGardener · 20/05/2025 12:16

I think I would register it - and feel pleased you felt the confidence and inclusion to be there. Because you should - as we all know the definition of beach body is a body on the beach.. and Id hope that no shitty judgemental people ruined it for you.

But maybe there are less of them about than you think

Anotherparkingthread · 20/05/2025 12:16

Id think 'i hope she's covered in sunscreen" because I burn very easily and uva and uvb is very bad for your skin.

LavenderBlue19 · 20/05/2025 12:16

I mean, I'm 17 stone and I'll (hopefully) be lying on a beach in a few days. I'm looking forward to it very much. I might assume - in a split second thought - that you maybe have the same problems with food and insecurities as I do... but then I'll be back to thinking about my child/ sunscreen/ sand/ shade/ where we might have dinner later.

I'm not comfortable at my size, but I am sure as hell going to enjoy my holiday.

GlutesthatSalute · 20/05/2025 12:17

Envious. Otherwise happy for you

CherryVanillaPie · 20/05/2025 12:21

I wouldn't think anything negative. I've noticed that the type of person who would look down their nose at someone who was overweight will be unpleasant about a lot of other things too. It seems to go hand in hand with the type of person who is racist for example. I've definitely noticed that.

RareLemur · 20/05/2025 12:21

I wouldn't think anything. If you think about it, how many people's bodies at beach or by the pool can you recall?
If anyone passes any judgement is says everything about them and nothing about you. And they shouldn't stop you from doing what makes you happy.
