What threads do you always hide?

If any!

If I scroll through and see anyone ask about accountancy help, HMRC advice, tax return, accounts etc I just hide them. I can't stand seeing 90% of the "advice" on those threads being absolute bollocks.

I used to hide the divorce ones when I was going through mine, I didn't want extra headspace going into it.

Benefit bashing ones

Weight loss jabs

Pillarsofsalt · 13/04/2025 17:01

I have never hidden a thread. I just scroll past anything I’m not interested in or don’t want to see.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 13/04/2025 17:01

I don't hide any. I just don't open them!

cherrymaoam · 13/04/2025 17:02

TW threads about abused children.

Coulddowithanap · 13/04/2025 17:02

You can hide threads??

jellyfishperiwinkle · 13/04/2025 17:02

I hide the Feminism sex & gender board and The Royal Family as I find posters on both absolutely nuts.

You can hide threads??

I'm on the android app so unsure if it's different for others but click the three dots next to the thread and choose "hide"

Why haven't you hidden the topic?

TrickorTreacle · 13/04/2025 17:05

On some internet forums, you can hide (ignore) a user, but it's not that common to be able to hide a thread. I just skip past them.

SwedishEdith · 13/04/2025 17:06

Any with enormous titles that fill up my screen. So usually the mafsaus and loads of the feminism ones.

You can hide threads??

Of course, and whole topics, is that not what everyone does?

There was a very amusing thread once complaining about these types of threads, and the title was verrrry long 😂.

Overtheatlantic · 13/04/2025 17:07

Threads bashing Harry and Megan. Sanctioned bullying.

TheCountessofLocksley · 13/04/2025 17:08

Benefit ones …..so much wrong/misleading is given out it pains me! Also hate the assumptions that those in receipt of benefits “owe” the rest of society/taxpayers should have a say in how benefits are spent. I wish a speedy comeuppance on such types!!

BobnLen · 13/04/2025 17:08

No threads but I hide topics that don't interest me

calanaiscailleach · 13/04/2025 17:09

Anything with references to animal abuse/neglect.

ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself · 13/04/2025 17:09

I used to hide hundreds. Thousands. But if I hid one mistakenly it was impossible to get it back because they didn’t seem to be in any order whatsoever. So I unhid everything, some were years old, and now I hide but after a month or so I unhide so they have hopefully dropped off the front page and I don’t see them anyway.

SallyD00lally · 13/04/2025 17:10

I don't think I've ever hidden a thread.

I either read the title and don't open it, or I open it, read the OP and then just ignore it.

ZookeeperSE · 13/04/2025 17:12

I don’t hide any particular subjects, but I avoid posting on the ones that are clearly trolling with some subject or other and are loving the attention, updating constantly (suspiciously quickly), creating thread two three and four in quick succession and getting all the usual sycophantic fan girling.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 13/04/2025 17:12

Anything that starts 'who thinks there's going to be a war?' or similar. I'm old enough to remember the aftermath of the last war, and the very topic fills me with such dread that I can't even look.

gamerchick · 13/04/2025 17:12

B1indEye · 13/04/2025 17:05

Why haven't you hidden the topic?

They don't stay in there. People think they've found the holy grail and want to talk about it, not getting that we're not interested and would rather the threads stay in their own board.

Definitely long titles..

Lundier · 13/04/2025 17:13

I hide loads of topics like the Royal Family and Sporners Corner and so on. All the ones about abused and dead children. Sometimes I hide all of AIBU to give myself a break - if I find myself getting all aerated about something.

Really I should stop going to Active and just use My Feed, but I don't remember ever doing this really. When did that feature come in?

ThisIsMyYearToFindMyself · 13/04/2025 17:15

There was a long running saga about a horse in a field once, that ended up discussing which actress would play the OP in the film.

And there was one that started out about the programme ‘our girl in the army’ or something, with Stacey Slater (Eastenders) that ran and ran and ran and ran……………..
