What threads do you always hide?

If any!

If I scroll through and see anyone ask about accountancy help, HMRC advice, tax return, accounts etc I just hide them. I can't stand seeing 90% of the "advice" on those threads being absolute bollocks.

I used to hide the divorce ones when I was going through mine, I didn't want extra headspace going into it.

Bore off Tandora. You think humans can change sex and know better than Sir Robert Winston. Get a grip.

Sir Robert Winston said absolutely nothing that contradicts my understanding of gender, sex, biology or what a woman is. You , as with most of mumsnet, clearly understand nothing about this judgement, what it says and what it means, but are simply using it to justify your own prejudice. But that is not a topic for this thread.
I suggest reading the judgement.

Trans women are men. It’s just simple fact. You seem more bothered than the women who know this 😂. ‘A more nuanced discussion’. Women don’t want men in certain spaces and sports, the end. There’s your discussion.

You don't speak for all women.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 17/04/2025 12:08

neverbeenskiing · 17/04/2025 12:06

Never said I did. If you read properly you would’ve seen I already said there will be always be women who put the feelings of men first. I’d bet my last mars bar though if you polled every single woman in the world if men should be allowed into women’s spaces and sports I know what the majority answer would be.

Recognising the reality of trans lives- their authenticity, their legitimacy and their rights to inclusion , free from discrimination , has nothing to do with “Putting Men First”. No matter what you believe, and what you say , and how many times your repeat yourself, there are enough people in the world who know and understand these things. This understanding has been growing over time , and I believe it will continue to do so.

I enjoy them, but I'm not married so I'm entirely inexperienced with wedding planning

I love a good Bridezilla thread. Especially when they end up being a Guestzilla thread instead.😆

Can I wear this dress to a wedding?

Anything with the words 'trans', 'Trump' or 'Meghan' in it.

My cousin stole my baby's name.

Any thread where someone says 'Go educate yourself'.

Threads by people defending phonics.

Those threads are always batshit! And the name is usually either (a) a name the cousin has previously said they liked, (b) their granny's name, or (c) a really common name.

I also like a Bridezilla thread, especially when the OP is the Bridezilla but doesn't realise it!

Those are the best!

Although I also like a MIL-zilla thread (God-MIL-la?)

I came across another there now: Man here seeking advice.🕺

I just can't be doing with it.🙄

Oh my god this. Most threads started by men need to be hidden. There was one amazing one though about a dispute with a neighbour over fencing. I can’t remember that guys username.

People actually have said they hate Private school threads. And no, the thread hasn't been derailed by Private school parents. Or RF regulars.

There's only one group who've piled on, derailing the thread.🤷‍♀️

Two groups. The tra group and women who push back against their claims. That's why there is disagreement. Two different groups.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/04/2025 17:53

My cousin stole my baby's name.

I have over about 50 cousins. Family names are common, so we have Big Mary, Wee Mary and Joseph's Mary.😆 I don't even want to think about 2nd cousins' names.

Tandora · 18/04/2025 14:14

Stay at home parent threads!! The arguments always go the same!!

(I’ve just gone through my feed and hidden most of the awful trans threads popping up. An act of self care ❤️ )

MN has been taken over by posts about trans people
it’s supposed to be a parenting group

I admit I’m somewhat tired of all the new threads telling us to ‘be kind’ and frequently throwing down the ‘what about trans men’ question as if nobody has ever asked it before.

I hope that everyone who’s preaching moderation, kindness & middle grounds to us is doing the same on trans-specific forums.

Titles about "banning" something. "Can we ban outdoor cats?" MNetters think that banning is the answer to everything.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "wearing a mask". I hid all of those, and reported them so that they might be moved to their rightful place.
