What threads do you always hide?

If any!

If I scroll through and see anyone ask about accountancy help, HMRC advice, tax return, accounts etc I just hide them. I can't stand seeing 90% of the "advice" on those threads being absolute bollocks.

I used to hide the divorce ones when I was going through mine, I didn't want extra headspace going into it.

Sex, sporners, mental health, suicide, health issues with photos attached, PTS threads about pets, anything about pee or poo.

Summertimeblahness · 13/04/2025 20:57

There’s a certain name that triggers my PTSD so I hide any threads with that in the title as it makes using mn really hard and uncomfortable.

Mielikki · 13/04/2025 20:58

Anything to do with ADHD or autism not posted in the child mental health or SEN topics. Ditto anything to do with cycling not posted in the cycling topic. Just magnets for dickheads to come and spew ill-informed bile.

ErrPods · 13/04/2025 21:02

Anything that indicates that the first post will be a gross picture (especially the nappy ones- what is WRONG with you weirdos?!).

Any that are clearly unanswerable (could I be pregnant/where are my keys hiding/what did my mother mean when she said this is 1972).

Threads suggesting the sad demise of an animal.

Anything linked to my job because a) it just makes me think of work, b) giving out free advice is absolutely thankless, and c) having to read absolute codswallop from posters who clearly have no qualifications in that area spouting “well, legally…” when they’re 100% wrong.

Every now and then I find I end up constantly rereading the same thread title because it seems to just stay towards the top of active for me. I just hide those to get them off my active list.

Ill informed bile about cycling??

I can't stand any trans hate threads.

I've never seen any. Unless you mean womens rights threads.

DoddlesMcDoddle · 13/04/2025 21:44

ItGhoul · 13/04/2025 19:16

All the anti-trans threads. Anything about Meghan Markle and/or Prince Harry. I’ve hidden the entire Feminism, Sex & Gender and Royal Family boards but people are mad goady twats who can’t resist posting their repetitive rants on those topics on AIBU and Chat. I tend to hide the benefit bashers as well, and the ones where people just want to talk about how much they hate dogs. Just so boring.

Yes because womens rights are 'anti trans'.
Which means you are admitting that being pro trans is anti women.

I Have To Hide Any Thread Where The Thread Title Is Written Like This.

It’s so bloody hard to type like that as well so why do they do it?!

Yes it's incredibly hard to read as well.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/04/2025 21:50

If I open a thread with a clickbaity title like ‘What do you think about…’ or ‘AIBU to do this?’ & I’m not interested it’s easier to hide it on the spot, to save myself seeing & opening it again a couple of days later.

lljkk · 13/04/2025 21:52

Whining (about anything). Anything dogmatic or obessive or to do with hating (revving up group dislike against anything), or violence against children, any disturbing awfulness. it adds no value to my life to know more about awful things that happened.

Sapienza · 13/04/2025 21:53

jellyfishperiwinkle · 13/04/2025 17:02

I hide the Feminism sex & gender board and The Royal Family as I find posters on both absolutely nuts.

Nuts is too mild a word for the absolute batshit threads.

100PercentFaithful · 13/04/2025 21:55

The private school VAT threads. Done to death with the ridiculous nonsense that is spouted.

marshmallowfinder · 13/04/2025 21:58

I hide ones with appalling spelling or grammar.

Borgonzola · 13/04/2025 22:02

Also why are all the Telly Addicts threads IN FULL CAPS ?

Your last two paragraphs explain how I feel much more succinctly than I did in my OP

Weight loss of any kind
i have a VERY disordered past relationship and it was joining one of the long running threads on here that triggered my last relapse.
I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame and still subconsciously seek it out when they are in Chat / AIBU

JHound · 14/04/2025 00:50

Ok I don’t think it’s an option on the mobile version.

cadburyegg · 14/04/2025 00:58

The “squeezed middle” threads where people earning 6 figures don’t have enough to get by. As a single parent earning 34k, I just can’t relate to this struggle at all.

SnowFrogJelly · 14/04/2025 01:15

Anything asking for advice on posh private schools 🙄

SnowFrogJelly · 14/04/2025 01:16

It seems most people agree which threads are filled with the worst kind of MN users.

Feminism royals and private schools!

SnowFrogJelly · 14/04/2025 01:22

Can’t all you feminists just go back to your threads and let us moan in peace

Borgonzola · 13/04/2025 22:02

Also why are all the Telly Addicts threads IN FULL CAPS ?

Because Blondes makes most of them and that's her style.
