A bit grossed out by something my BF of about 4 months did last night. We have a really jokey relationship but I think he crossed the line.

We were being intimate and he let out a really exaggerated fart then burst out laughing. He obviously meant to do it and thought I’d find it funny. I stopped what we were doing as the mood was gone and it stunk. He said sorry after but I feel like even with a jokey relationship, that’s going too far?

I’d find that funny to be honest

I'd probably laugh and I don't think I'd be overly annoyed, but I probably wouldn't carry on and I'd (lightheartedly) tell my partner it was their own fault for being a rotter. I don't think you're wrong for finding it gross in the moment but I don't think it's all that terrible in the grand scheme of things, especially if you have quite a jokey relationship anyway.

When I first met now dh I had text I was off for a bath.. He asked for pics. I sent one of the taps. He never asked again.. Have never ever sent an explicit pic.... And have never knowingly farted in 13 years in his company..

If it was intentional, I'd honestly have got off him and left the room. It's not funny, it's disrespectful. My experience is coloured by the fact that it was around the 3 month mark that an emotionally abusive ex started to show his true colours, and this escalated to things getting more and more degrading during sex. It definitely started with "funny" things like farting on me.

But...awkward stuff happens during sex and normally I'd probably laugh it off to make it less embarrassing for him.

If you're sure it was deliberate, be honest and tell him how it made you feel and that you don't want him to do that again. Ick.

I am firmly in the 'farts are funny' camp, but not when you are getting down to business! That would absolutely be ab end to any action from me.

I'm not sure anyone has enough control over a fart to dictate how loud it is though. I think your options are pretty much let it out or hold it in.
