Husband went to the gym on Christmas Day?

We did Christmas just the two of us. We don’t have children and our families live in different countries.

We did presents, watched a film, cooked dinner and then he said he was off to the gym. He is very much into the gym, goes pretty much every day.

He couldn’t understand why I was annoyed that he couldn’t just miss one day. Aibu?

Was the gym actually open, I find that very hard to believe and as per the previous poster I would think he went elsewhere.

Anytime Fitness gyms are open 24/7, so I can well believe it’s true. Also it doesn’t sound like he missed much?

I think the PureGym near me were open Christmas day. OP I'd be checking to see if the gym he uses was open.

I went for a run on Christmas Day which took about an hour. My DP went out on his bike for about 90 mins. I don’t think going to the gym is unreasonable unless he’s there for hours on end.

If it was definitely open maybe he was bored being stuck at home.

Someone will be along soon to tell you they did an Ironman in the morning & a triathlon after dinner. Gym is just part of their routine.

Our council run gym was open 10am-4pm on Christmas Day.

You're right to be annoyed OP if you had other things planned for that time. If the alternative was vegging on the sofa, why would you be upset he did something he wanted to do with his Christmas?

And for all those insinuating he went somewhere that wasn't the gym, why on earth would you jump to "he's having an affair" because he went to the gym on Christmas day?!

I saw a few people out jogging and cycling on Christmas Day. Good on them, I thought.

How long does he spend there? If it's just an hour or two what's wrong with that?(If he was actually at the gym )

You don't have to be glued to the hip for the whole day.
