Lighthearted post.

Just that really 🤣 I’m very new to vinted. So let’s hear your Vinted horror stories!

If you're new to vinted how do you know the buyers are ridiculous?

I've sold over 100 things and had no problems with buyers?

Mikunia · 07/09/2024 12:16

I'm a regular Vinted buyer and I'm lovely.

DustyMaiden · 07/09/2024 12:17

Haven’t had any problems

Elkle · 07/09/2024 12:18

I buy and sell on Vinted, must have had at least 100 buyers by now and no issues whatsoever.

TheChosenTwo · 07/09/2024 12:18

What’s RIDICULOUS about Vinted sellers specifically?
I’ve sold things on Vinted before and don’t think of myself as particularly ridiculous 🙄

whotoldyouso · 07/09/2024 12:18

I have only had a problem once, with someone insisting there was a mark on a pair of maternity trousers. They were £2 🙄

I hate it when something is £3 and people offer £2.50. I find it really annoying.

DirtyDensDog · 07/09/2024 12:18

I haven't had any problems with Vinted.

Pumpkinthepig · 07/09/2024 12:20

I hate how long it takes some sellers to post things but otherwise its great.

New to Vinted eh? Who upset you and what did they do? Will you never buy in case you are deemed ridiculous?

ThisFunHedgehog · 07/09/2024 12:22

Lighthearted post!

I’m new to selling on vinted but have heard lots from friends and seen online about very cheeky buyers.

I’ve had some very ridiculous offers for brand new items with tags and generally messed about. Of course you haggle and offer what you want to pay for items. Instances of being offered 79p on a £75 dress 🤣

Did anyone see the TikTok where a seller said they weren’t able to complete the order because they were distressed by the Molly Mae/ Tommy Fury break up 🙈

Sorry I'm so guilty of this. It's because when the postage gets added it ends up over a fiver whereas if I can get 50p off it goes down to five or under which psychologically makes me feel better.

I find it annoying when I'm the one selling though Blush

OneEightTwo · 07/09/2024 12:23

Yeah. I had a woman buy a £2 kids top a couple of weeks ago. The very next day she messaged me like “can you confirm when you’re going to post this, only I ordered it yesterday”.

I waited until the last day to be honest. Fanny.

This! I don’t like when people list the condition as new when it clearly isn’t.

I have sold about ten items and it was v easy.

But you can’t make such a low offer? It’s limited to a fixed percentage

ienjoyeatingcake · 07/09/2024 12:24

I don't think the buyers are ridiculous, but the sellers are sometimes. Stupidest thing I've ever seen someone sell is coasters with tea stains, and they actually wrote - I kid you not - they just need a little clean up. YOU clean them up before you sell them!!!

cansu · 07/09/2024 12:25

I only sell stuff that is decent. I price about two to three pounds over my lowest acceptable price people always offer a few pounds under so this means everyone is happy!

loudbatperson · 07/09/2024 12:25

Paper/magazine article?

Why would you conclude the buyers are ridiculous if you've only just started?

Never bought, only sold. It’s not that deep.

Bought a few items from Vinted but a nightmare if there are any issues ie I have to pay return postage for an item not as described to get a refund.
Also don't like having to pay the buyer protection, which adds to the cost but doesn't buy me any protection.
Too much hassle, so gone back to eBay!

They seem to have removed the limit recently.

I didn’t, I think you’ve misunderstood Smile

There wasn’t a mark when I sent them but it is possible something happened in transit, I was just rolling my eyes at someone whining that a £2 item needed a wash!

PermanentlyTired03 · 07/09/2024 12:30

Some buyers are really cheap. That gets annoying. Most are ok though. Although buying toddler clothes on Vinted with the add ons you might as well buy new half the time!
