SS visited today

I recently had a HV come round. She appeared a little rigid and looked like she was attending a wedding but she seemed chatty and reflected back lots of positive things she was seeing. Today I had a SW unexpectantly visit and after she read out everything that the HV had raised, to say I was shocked is an understatement. Both my DH were there and the HV literally fabricated and misrepresented things she saw. The SW was lovely and stated she had no concerns and let me know I could make a complaint (I have).

So WTF! I'm still in shock. The HV asked me at the time whether I wanted another visit and I said no, and then SS turn up!

What on earth did she raise??

What did she say to them OP?

What did the HV say to SS?

I don't want to say exactly but imagine you had a lego set for London bridge, this hv built the taj Mahal and the solar system.

Not only did she have the gall to sit in my front room regailing her experiences of other visits (negative ones), she reflected back some lovely things she was seeing with my child. Along the lines of ‘its so nice when I come to a visit where ‘insert positive remark’.

The downright lies this HV has stated will be corroborated with the lateral checks that the SW now needs to do.

This isn't about having a low threshold for safeguarding but its displaying no ability to adequately assess a situation and then when she did refer, no process was followed!

It would (could?) be outing if I gave details, plus I really don't want to give the remarks any more air space.

That is the weirdest explanation of what was misrepresented I’ve ever read on here.

Not helpful to you, but could she have her notes confused with another family or were they specific things that happened that were misrepresented?

Never let a HV cross your threshold, everyone I’ve dealt with are totally incompetent.

Yep. I had one who came out and assessed my three month old with the 6 month old criteria and told me she wasn’t meeting her milestones

I seriously considered this. But no some of the details were linked to the visit.

One of the concerns demonstrated no understanding of child development where it was factually incorrect. I pointed this out to the SW - she agreed.

No one can really comment as you won’t give any details on what the HV said to the SW or what you said to the HV.

I'm not sure why you would make a thread without giving any useful information whatsoever. You have to at least give an example.

If you gave an accurate example I doubt it would be outing in a country of 67 million people. And that's assuming you are in the UK.

Well in that case your post is pointless as it's impossible to say if you're being unreasonable or not

I have to agree with this. Even amongst other HCP they are often thought of this way.

Adjacent example, my daughter sometimes pretends to be a specific animal. She reported this as abnormal child behaviour (its not) insinuating we encouraged it and even brought a cage for her! We don't encourage ‘it’, we just don't shame it and we certainly haven't brought a cage for her! Its for the dog!

The HV literally fabricated things she saw and things we said!

Did you or DH leave the kettle within reach of your child and she's made out your kitchen is RIDDLED WITH KNIVES?

A bit of a pointless thread!

Another concern... Our daughter cosleeps with dad and I sometimes leave to sleep in the spare room. There was an insinuation because dad is a male and therefore a deviant. It was written and read in ‘that’ way. My DHs face fell, and all I could say to him was ‘im so sorry’.
