JKR being uncharacteristically quiet

Anyone else noticed since the news that JKR is being sued by Imane Khelif she's been very quiet, unless I'm mistaken she's hasn't tweeted at all in about a week.

and hasn't responded at all to the legal action being taken against her. This is very unlike her, I'm thinking she's been advised by her lawyers to keep quiet. Anyone else think she might have put her foot in it this time?

What did she say about said individual?

She said that Imane wasn't a woman and was basically a man beating up a woman. There's still a lot of query around this topic, and Imane has now named JKR in a lawsuit for cyber bullying.

Well whenever she speaks she receives rape and death threats from the left, so you can't blame her for taking a bit of time out.

It’s the summer holiday and she has school aged children. I think she’s got plenty to be doing before the schools go back in Edinburgh shortly.

Yeah not saying she deserves rape threats etc, I'm just saying that historically abuse / threats have never stopped her from speaking out so it's strange she's suddenly gone quiet. Perhaps there's more to it, or perhaps she does just want a break 🤷🏼‍♀️

She's got a book to write and is probably getting on with....working.

I hope she's ignoring all the ridiculous 'I'm going to sue you for stating facts' coming from certain sectors.

I'm sure she has adequate legal representation.

She's probably on summer holiday.

All of this and the schools are back already in Edinburgh so she's probably just getting on with life and giving the reality deniers a wide berth for a bit.

JKR had been quiet before that for a few days- and at the risk of sounding like a stalker - she’d tweeted something about going on holiday and previously she’d said she only tweets on a computer, not phone. It’s not been a fortnight so I’d presumed she’d gone away and not taken her laptop with her.

but looking what she tweeted, she never accused IK of being trans, she said male. If it gets to court it will come down to why IK was banned previously, I’m not sure it would suit IK to let it get to court, but JKR doesn’t seem the “settling out of court and apologising” type.

Khelif is not suing JKR he's asking for a criminal investigation against people pointing out that he's male and should not be boxing in the female category

Well since Imane isn't a woman and so far hasn't taken action against the IBA which stopped him competing in women's boxing on the basis of being a man I think JKR is on pretty safe ground here.

If you're a TRA hoping she's fled you might be a tad disappointed.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of the computer / holiday thing. I just thought it was interesting where she's usually very active on twitter to have suddenly gone quiet at the same time as the legal action being announced. Could just be a coincidence but wanted to see what other people thought

All Imane has to do is a DNA/swab test and then everyone will know if he is a man or not.

How could a court case succeed unless the plaintiff can prove they are who the defendant says they are not?

But that may not be the entire substance of the suit.

This boxer needs a karyotype to prove his nice and for all maleness.
This boxer was barred because of XY I think, and the boxer looks phenotypically very male with the benefits of testosterone .
Why is the boxer shilly shallying about a true gender test??

I'm trying to keep things fairly neutral tbh, I haven't said my thoughts on if I think Imane is a woman or a man as that isn't really what I'm asking about and my understand is that's not what the legal action is actually about either so that argument kind of derails the topic

1. she's made her point what else does she need to say
2. why does she need to post to a required number of times to satisfy anyone else. Post too much she gets criticism, post too little she gets criticism.
3. maybe she's busy living not spending time on twitter. Y'know having a holiday or something. Does she need permission to do this? Or does she need to make an announcement?

Elon Musk and Trump are also named. I doubt they'll settle out of court. Neither give a shit, will be widely agreed with and what it will cost will be nothing to them. I don't know anything about the French justice system, but if they decide to persue, I don't think that decision can be overturned? JKR should have worded it a bit more cleverly.

I think she’s on holiday sipping a Pina Colada somewhere and looking forward to the day in court where the male boxer has to prove that he’s female.

From my understand (which may be wrong!) the action being taken isn't about wether imane is a man or a woman, but is about wether JK (and others) contributed to cyber bullying against them. Wether Imane will do a DNA test or something as part of the case remains to be seen I guess

She changed her header pic recently which is usually a sign that she’s making progress on her current book.

Not before time. She is a total pain in the neck. Not surprised all the HP cast have more or less turned against her.

Or because of the jokes about her house being mouldy 🤣
