In other words, people don't vote Green mainly because they think they have no chance.

Their manifesto on Education seems to correspond with a lot of views on mumsnet, aibu?

I don’t vote for women hating wankers, so no.

SlothOnARope · 19/06/2024 11:18

By that argument you can't vote for any party, though. Society hates women.

I know my Green candidate well so she'll get my vote, she's a well educated, intelligent woman with loads of common sense. She's also one of the party who is far from a TRA (there are quite a few of them, their voices just get drowned out in the media)

Buryyiirwhat · 19/06/2024 11:22

Yup, I have and will again.

Soluckyinlove · 19/06/2024 11:23

No chance.

CovertPiggery · 19/06/2024 11:23

I would, but sadly I'm stuck in a safe Tory seat. My only hope is that Reform steal enough votes from them.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 19/06/2024 11:24

Oooo Aimée!

The first response always nails it!

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 19/06/2024 11:25

If it would get our sitting Tory out I'd vote Green, SDLP or SNP (and the last 2 would not be easy in SE England).

Even the female part of it????

Fuck no, tree-hugging twats.

Not quite. How are they more women-hating wankers than the others, and what are the others doing to affirm their women-loving credentials? Genuine question.

I left the Green Party last month. I believe that climate crisis is the biggest challenge facing the world and I agree with many of the party’s social policies. Sadly, overall, the party is amateurish and misogynistic.

I really hoped it could turn things around, after all, Green Party Women had some good ideas. But they were not in charge. Those who refused to learn from the Challenor scandal, those who insisted on calling women “non-men” and those who, in a public meeting, mimed holding their noses and flushing “TERFs” down the toilet - they are the people in charge.

These days, my beliefs align more with those of the Communist Party, which is weird, as I’ve never considered myself a communist.

ButterCrackers · 19/06/2024 11:28

No.

GatherlyGal · 19/06/2024 11:28

I love the idea of the Green Party but they are totally batshit.

Women's rights aside (and that's bad enough) they think they know better than Cass about kids with gender issues and as for the drugs policy !

they want pharmacy-style places to dispense recreational cocaine and speed which will be sourced by the government and produced by sustainable coca farmers. Or something.

RufustheFactualReindeer · 19/06/2024 11:29

I voted for them last time

cos dd wanted me to…Im easily led

This and their allegiance with the SNP means i'll never vote for them again

wait what?

Flyonthewall01 · 19/06/2024 11:29

No, their views on birth interventions is enough of a reason. Politicians shouldn’t be meddling with healthcare especially when women have such poor options as it is across the board.

IsadoraQuagmire · 19/06/2024 11:30

Haha no.

stargirl1701 · 19/06/2024 11:30

No. Have you met the Scottish Greens? They were in Govt here in Scotland. It did not go well.

Demonhunter · 19/06/2024 11:31

As for women hating wankers, had labour doing the rounds at my door last week. Very vague about how they will improve NHS and education but icing on the cake, I asked about the concerns of women with regards to womens rights and was told "oh you mean that trans issue" I said I mean it from the perspective of protecting women and I was told its a "non issue" and "only an issue if you want it to be" gave him some examples including rape centres, hospital wards, prisons - and his answer was "look I have a unisex toilet at home..." I told him the conversation was clearly over then and he looked around and the candidate did an eyeroll at him.

When it comes to this issue, they're all dick pandering.

many greens are highly gender critical - more so than other parties

AtrociousCircumstance · 19/06/2024 11:32

Greens are misogynists. Rampantly woman hating. They care more about centring men’s rights than the environment. So no.

(I used to vote Green).

Chocolateismylovelife · 19/06/2024 11:32

If I believed in them yes I would vote for them.

I do not believe in tactical voting.
