If you knew the Greens would win in your seat you'd vote for them

In other words, people don't vote Green mainly because they think they have no chance.

Their manifesto on Education seems to correspond with a lot of views on mumsnet, aibu?

Well if the shoe fits.. sounds like Donald to me!

Hardly the only person who thinks that. However, people do not say anything because of the gaslighting. They do not bother anymore.

EC22 · 19/06/2024 19:34

Absolutely not.
Theyre proper mental in Scotland.
Gender cranks and nothing more.

Where are you OP?

A godforsaken shithole in the north west of England. Huge income disparity, footballer's row and SUVs shoulder to shoulder with drugs, monster dogs, drug drivers, balaclavas, kids getting robbed at knifepoint for their bikes, ASB and angry, unhealthy screwed-up people everywhere you look.

My kids can't go out at night and even in the daytime it's risky.

Corrupt council closing vital facilities. Class warfare. People seem to hate each other.

I'm not exaggerating, nor do I have rose tinted specs. It's shit, and none of the other parties care. So voting for someone whose heart is firmly in the right place, even if her party leaders are weirdos and nonces.

No I wouldn't.

Some of their environmental policies almost sound reasonable but everything else is ridiculous and they couldn't run a bath let alone a country.

They perform an important role in politics as a pressure group, meaning the main parties have to take at least some notice of green issues but if they got anywhere near actual power they'd make Liz Truss look wise and successful. The Greens won control of Brighton and Hove local authority a few years back. Within months the LA was almost bankrupt, bins were left in the street uncollected as there was no money to pay the binmen and it got so bad that Westminster had to step in to take control to put the LA back on track. That would happen to the UK, without the safety net of having someone to save us when it all went to hell.

🙄why people do this is so childish

So is climate change denial.

This and their allegiance with the SNP means i'll never vote for them again

Hell yes. Scottish Greens are vile, crazy fuckers, and all the support for 'Aimee' Chanellor and his father? Fuck off.
And Sturgeon with her support for 'Isla' Bryson? Fuck even further off!

So you'd be happy with open paedophiles running the country? That's fucking terrifying.

She will still be expected to support all the green policies. Which means she might do some things you approve of, but she might also have to champion allowing men (who in your area might be violent knife carrying criminals with nefarious reasons for their actions) to be allowed to access women's changing rooms in sports centres or shops or if they declare at the entrance 'I am a women'. In fact, in Scotland, some of the individuals who fervently supported the Greens and actively campaigned for those rights, looked like knife carrying criminals to me (photos of themselves on social media posing with weapons). I'm not fine with any party that is fine with that sort of crap.

DoreenonTill8 · 20/06/2024 10:07

But..but @missmousemouth they're being their true self?! We should embrace and celebrate their stunning bravery!

bellinisurge · 20/06/2024 14:27

Their hearts aren't in the right place. As shown in Scotland.
More time spent getting autogynephiles into rape crisis centres than doing anything to help the climate crisis
