So, summer in nearly upon us and I still haven't gotten into shape!
AIBU to ask some of you to join me in a 30 day challenge to strive towards being a little bit healthier?
My aim is to get up early every morning and do a 30 min walk/run and stick to a healthy diet.
I'm hoping we could all post a message every night/other night updating on our progress and being a support of sorts to each other to keep us focused on our long term goal.
Anyone up for it?

Count me in. I'm already doing 30 mins of exercise a day (hula hooping) but lost all motivation with tracking food. Ideally would love to lose 6kg (approx 12lbs) but would be happy with 2kg over the next 25 days (going away for a few days then so will probably put it all back on again 😅).

I'm in! We go away 10 weeks today so I have left it late to start trying to lose weight and shake up, but hopefully a 30 day target with give me the kick that I need!

I'll start tomorrow as well - last time I weighed myself a couple of weeks ago, I was 13st 1.6lbs. First goal is to get back into the 12st bracket. I've no idea what a reasonable amount of weight to lose in 30 days is, but if I could get to 12st 7lbs I'd be very happy!

I go away 10 weeks today too and am a similar starting weight (won't know exactly til the morning).

Yes please! Checking in daily should help to motivate me. I don't have a target, I just want to get fitter (much fitter!) and for my currently tight clothes to fit well again.

I've just finished my huge box of Creme Eggs so I'm good to go Can't weigh myself until I get new batteries for the scales.

I've lost about a stone and a half so far - but it's taken me a year and a half and I keep stalling. I've got about 4 stone more to lose and know I'm in it for the long haul but could really use a bit of motivation/solidarity right now.

I was doing a gym induction on Tuesday anyway. I'll weigh in tomorrow.

'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' - that's my motto.
(I don't actually believe the above, clearly said by someone who has never had a Twix but I'm trying to change my mindset😂)

I think this thread is a sign. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been, nothing fits me, and I’m so annoyed with myself. Thirty days is a good kickstart!

I’m in!!! Lost a stone on slimming world, left, and put it all back on 😭
Starting weight 71.6 kg. Target 65kg.
Currently size 14 jeans, want to get back into my size 12 jeans.

I don’t like that quote, it’s a bit too eating-disordery for me. How about ‘nothing tastes as good as healthy feels’? I read somewhere recently (maybe Mumsnet?) that you should aim to be able to do whatever you want and not be limited by your body and/or fitness. So if you want to be able to bend down to tie your shoelaces, or to be able to run a marathon, then that is your own goal, kind of thing.

Are we posting each day with any updates, what we ate, that sort of thing? I’ve joined these sort of threads before and not kept up with them so I’m determined to post and read every day this time.

I'll join too. For whatever health-related reasons I've had to fairly radically change my diet (cut out cake 😒). Weighed myself this morning and had lost 1lb 6oz in a week! 😀

I am planning to do the 100 skips a day for Cancer research in June challenge, I've just signed up. Will also have to tackle my overeating and the root causes of doing that for years (comfort, boredom, distraction, filling an emotional void).

May I join? Weighed in this morning at 11st11lbs. Tomorrow is day 10 of the 30 day shred so doing okay with exercise but really need to sort out my diet! I'm down 4 stone from my biggest (been a pretty slow loss over the past 2 and a half years) so I've made some great progress towards my goal of 10/10st7 but I've been stuck at a plateau for the past 5 months 😩 going on holiday in July and would love to be much closer to goal by then. Good luck all 😊

I'm in!!! Well done @lairyfights9 that's great you've made some progress towards your goal. Aaargg plateau are the worst!!! I know the feeling.
Not sure I much I weigh at the moment, I'll be brave and check tomorrow morning so I'll probably start tomorrow!

My kids got me some Toblerone and Ferrero Rocher today that I've started already (obviously 🤣) I better kiss them goodbye for a little while. So hard to stop muching chocs in the evening 🫠😋

Let's start this 30 days challenge! We can do it 👊

Perhaps we could all include something on our posts at the end of each day so we can see where we are, something visual, to boost us. Some sort of emoji rewards

For example:
❤️ = did really good today
💛= made some efforts but could have done better
💙= not my day (ate rubbish and netflix all day or similar 🤭😅)

Would be nice to try to get those red hearts adding up day after day.

I'll start tomorrow ☺️
