So, summer in nearly upon us and I still haven't gotten into shape!
AIBU to ask some of you to join me in a 30 day challenge to strive towards being a little bit healthier?
My aim is to get up early every morning and do a 30 min walk/run and stick to a healthy diet.
I'm hoping we could all post a message every night/other night updating on our progress and being a support of sorts to each other to keep us focused on our long term goal.
Anyone up for it?

@Beezknees , @Toooldtoworry thank you, I will carry on too!

Lilith666 · 12/06/2024 16:45

Long dog walk, swim and big salad for lunch, nduja sausage pie with potatoes and salad for dinner. Lots of water and day 3 without wine!

Tamuchly · 12/06/2024 19:02

Busy day today, kept to my food plan though…

Breakfast - crunchy nut cornflakes & ss milk

Lunch - tuna mayo salad sandwich and a handful of redcurrants

Dinner - fish fingers, chips and beans (really need to do a shop!)

Snacks - yoghurt, banana, instant caramel latte

Good news is that I can go back to work on Monday. Being stuck at home is getting very old, very quickly!

SpicyNikNak · 12/06/2024 22:41

Glad to hear you are well enough to get back to work @Tamuchly

I've had a good day foodwise but no 30ds today. I'm finding I need the rest days to let my muscles and joints recover. Managed to avoid the inevitably office cakes which was a positive and back WFH tomorrow which I find easier foodwise.

Glenthebattleostrich · 13/06/2024 06:09

Rest day yesterday so enjoyed sitting on my couch! Trying table tennis next week though so that'll keep me away from the kitchen for a couple of hours at least. Good food day and already 2lb down this week!

Troubledoor1 · 13/06/2024 06:28

Another good days yesterday, managed 10,000 steps, and ate within calorie guidelines, and went to bed at 9.30! Feeling a bit groggy now but hoping for another good day and a lunch time gym session.
Having bought all my lunch stuff at the beginning of the week has really helped me stay on path.

lairyfights9 · 13/06/2024 08:12

30ds day 27 ✅

Weighed 11.8 this morning. Possibly just fluctuation but hopefully not. It's the lowest weight I've seen on the scales since I was pregnant with dd1 (about 13 years ago) and that feels pretty good 😊

Hope everyone has a great day

SpicyNikNak · 13/06/2024 21:52

Well done @lairyfights9 3 days to go and you've completed it 👏. Second day off for me today but onwards to day 16 tomorrow.

lairyfights9 · 13/06/2024 23:20

Thanks @SpicyNikNak 😊 it's a real relief to be this close because I know at this point that I'm obviously not going to give up now! Really looking forward to a rest day on Monday though 😂 good luck with day 16 tomorrow

❤️ day today.
Breakfast- protein smoothie
Lunch - chicken salad
Dinner - quinoa and bean salad with fajita chicken and peppers and a 10 calorie jelly pot after
No snacks 👍

Hi everyone. Feeling quite tired today, no reason why. I had a good day yesterday and slept well. I think it will be interesting to read my posts back over a month and see how affected I am by hormones. Next week is normally when I’ll start to really crave sugar and carbs so I’m thinking about how I can avoid that!

Next week is normally when I’ll start to really crave sugar and carbs so I’m thinking about how I can avoid that!

I am having some success controlling my sugar cravings switching to sweet fruit such as refrigerated red grapes or strawberries. I also found a Greek yogurt I like and have it with microwaved apple slices. It seems to be working quite well for me. And it is getting easier to go without sweet things.
I have also stopped buying sweet treats and crisps. If they are not in the house, I can’t eat them 😊

SpicyNikNak · 14/06/2024 18:53

Day 16 30DS ticked off. Eaten 1200 cals so far and will have some cereal or similar later on. A ❤️

Troubledoor1 · 15/06/2024 11:07

Cheers @MomOfTwoGirls2 I love greek yoghurt so I’ll get some on my shopping list.

Yesterday I knew I’d be up on my calorie guidelines as I had a special event. A sensible lunch meant that it didn’t go totally crazy. I only had a small glass of wine and the rest was alcohol free beer so that was a good compromise and also meant I slept well. Weekends are always a bit trickier food wise as there’s a whole family to feed, so I try to just have sensible portions rather than alternative meals.

Have a nice weekend all.

MammaTill2Pojkar · 15/06/2024 14:03

I weighed in today at 64.0kg, that's 1.7kg lost since starting and the goal I wanted to lose before we go away next week! I've got 6 more days to try and maintain/lose a bit more before we go. ❤❤❤

Still need to do my 30 minute workout at some point today.

Will likely put it all back on with snacking and takeaways while we're away though 😅

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 15/06/2024 14:54

Down 3-4lb since this time last week. Being careful about what I eat including fruit and carbs.

Had a blip Weds when had tortellini with a mascarpone tomato sauce and garlic bread and then big bag Thai sweet chilli crisps and crunchie bits bag and Tescos finest spag bol but DM is in hospital and in London so have been trekking there after work from outskirts SE London.

Breakfast today peanut butter and marmite on soya and linseed toast

lunch rye Ryvita x 3 with Philadelphia light cherry tomatoes, radish and avocado had same lunch this week but with cucumber minus avocado and cottage cheese start of week

breakfasts last week are porridge with skimmed milk and blueberries

dinner tonight will be Cornish pasty mash potato, spinach and carrots.

Will cook Weightwatchers pasta bake with Philadelphia cream cheese and tender stem broccoli and spinach at some point which is nice.

lairyfights9 · 15/06/2024 18:03

30 day shred day 29 ✅ I'm feeling especially proud because I've been feeling really ill today and did it anyway. Actually think I feel a bit better for having done it.

Eaten pretty crappily today but I feel rough so I'm going to give myself a pass on that.

Well done everyone 😊

SpicyNikNak · 15/06/2024 21:01

Day 17 30ds done and eaten low calorie. So a ❤️ DH is dragging me hill walking tomorrow so that and 30ds should help cover the Dominos we have planned for Fathers day dinner with the Euros !

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 16/06/2024 00:43

I was going so good today. Healthy brunch and dinner. 2 G&T.
But once I had some Brie on crusty baguette, I couldn’t stop. I think I had 7 little slices 🙈
But it was sooo good!

Troubledoor1 · 16/06/2024 08:09

Hmm yesterday was weird. I started well
and ended up eating a bag of chocolate
button. Forgot to put in my Fitbit so not sure how
much I walked. I was dealing with a sick child
though, so I’ll not ruminate any more. I feel like decluttering will be my exercise today!

thesnailandthewhale · 16/06/2024 09:42

3 weeks in for me and 9.6lbs lost so far :) Am so, so happy with that, I was aiming for around 9lb over the whole challenge so more than pleased. Now to stop telling myself I can't lose weight in menopause -I can if I stick to it :)

Wow, that is fantastic! Well done to you!.

I have lost 1.8kg, ~4kbs, in 3 weeks.

at this rate it will take me 7 weeks to lose 9lbs. I want to lose 7kg in total, which will probably take me into the autumn.

SpicyNikNak · 16/06/2024 20:57

Great result @thesnailandthewhale. A mixed day here with a chunk of exercise but takeaway for dinner. Onwards and upwards to tomorrow 💛

lairyfights9 · 16/06/2024 21:01

30 day shred complete 🥳💪😁

I always weigh in the morning so will check weight and measurements tomorrow. I don't think I've lost loads but I'm still happy with loss. Looking forward to a rest day tomorrow!

Eaten okay today
Brunch - cooked breakfast
Dinner - chicken, 4 rice cakes
Snacks - handful of Brazil nuts, 2 mini gherkins and whatever I choose to eat in a minute (probably either an ice lolly, or coconut milk yogurt with some strawberries)

Hope everyone's had a good w/e and well done on your losses 😊 and on day 17 for you @SpicyNikNak

SpicyNikNak · 16/06/2024 21:03

Well done @lairyfights9 you did it!! 30 days of the shred isn't easy so 👏👏
