So, summer in nearly upon us and I still haven't gotten into shape!
AIBU to ask some of you to join me in a 30 day challenge to strive towards being a little bit healthier?
My aim is to get up early every morning and do a 30 min walk/run and stick to a healthy diet.
I'm hoping we could all post a message every night/other night updating on our progress and being a support of sorts to each other to keep us focused on our long term goal.
Anyone up for it?

That's awesome @Glenthebattleostrich and @Troubledoor1 😊

I'm feeling a bit down as I'm back up to 11st11 this morning but trying to not get too demotivated by it..

Didn't eat well yesterday as was at a family meal, will be really trying to eat well this week so I see some progress on the scales. I'm comfortably in a size 14 now (down from 18-20) which is a great non scale victory for me, but feeling like I'm not going to get where I wanted to by my holiday and that's disappointing.
Yesterday did 30ds first thing
Breakfast - one slice of toast with peanut butter and then a small bacon sandwich about an hour later as still hungry. (Forgot to take my protein smoothie ingredients to my mums)
Lunch- bbq (meat, corn on the cob, salad and a little bit of potato salad), slice of birthday cake
Dinner - some of dps leftover Chinese (special fried rice with some sweet and sour sauce) and another small slice of cake 🙁

Must make good choices today, must make good choices today..

Day 24 of 30 day shred done this morning ✅

Good morning, another 1lb down today taking my total to 11lb.

Thats brilliant!
Over what time period?

This is fantastic! Stop putting yourself down and looking at the negatives. You are doing so well. Also the rice you had last night will have caused some fluid retention. (At least, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. )

Lilith666 · 10/06/2024 17:04

I'm in for this! Have been drinking too much and eating everything, would like to lose 7-8lbs in the next month. I will be cutting alcohol Mon-Fri, exercising more and maybe doing weights too. Thanks for this thread, Op.

Ezekiela · 10/06/2024 17:08

Monday weigh day, two weeks in to the 30 day challenge. Alarmingly, the scales were back up to my starting weight of 13 st 6, despite having been as low as 13 st 1 late last week.

I hope I haven't really put on 5lb over the weekend. Maybe it's fluid retention from the rice I had for dinner last night.

Ezekiela · 10/06/2024 17:10

@Thistle101

How are you doing? You seem to have gone AWOL for a while. Hope you are OK.

SpicyNikNak · 10/06/2024 20:43

Great to see people are starting to see results on the scales. Day 14 30ds done and in my calorie goal for the day. Was going to try and get out for an evening walk but it's cold and wet so not feeling it 🙂

Lavengro · 11/06/2024 00:11

Don't all hate me, but in the last week I've lost...

0.1kg.

😭

I did loads of walking as well.

Troubledoor1 · 11/06/2024 06:21

Hi all, a good day yesterday. I have about a week before I start to bloat so I’m trying to really commit to eating well and exercising over the next 7 days.

I8toys · 11/06/2024 08:41

Day 14. Bit disappointed as I've maintained. Still 4 lbs in 2 weeks. Did go out on Friday night so that maybe it. Will need to move more as I'm not doing anything and watch calorie intake. I need the 9's. Stuck on 10st.

weaseleyes · 11/06/2024 09:36

I managed another 3lbs last week, according to the scales today - it would have been 3.5 yesterday! I had to go into the office for a meeting where there would be lunch, and thought I'd be able to have fruit, but they just went with crisps and sandwiches. After my two weeks of being bread and sugar free, this was very exciting, but I spent the rest of the day longing for more and feeling quite grumpy. Spent this morning inventing reasons why it wouldn't be bad if I went and got some bread so I could have toast for breakfast, but talked myself out of it. I wish I didn't seem to be so ridiculously sensitive to them; I'm sure at least half of it is psychological.

lairyfights9 · 11/06/2024 18:53

Well done everyone 😊

Thanks @Ezekiela ❤️ your words have really given me a boost!

Yesterday was a big 💙 day!

Todays been much better

Did day 25 of 30ds. Was nice that it felt a bit easier today, definite evidence that my fitness is improving
No breakfast today as did 30ds late
Lunch - protein smoothie
Dinner - paella
No snacks as of yet, will try to resist anything extra this evening though and if I crave something I'll try and just have a cup of tea..

SpicyNikNak · 11/06/2024 19:45

30ds day 15 done and eaten well. Tomorrow is an office day so likely to be a different story. I didnt realise how often my colleagues bring cakes and sweets until I've had to start refusing!

lairyfights9 · 11/06/2024 20:10

Halfway 🥳 well done @SpicyNikNak

Tamuchly · 11/06/2024 20:12

I’ve had a bit of a nightmare with some health stuff but I’m back in it as of today!

Breakfast - bowl of honey nut cornflakes with semi skimmed milk

Lunch - 2 eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes (all dry fried) plus two pieces of buttered toast

Snack - 2 pieces of toast with jam

Dinner - steak with tomatoes, mushrooms & peppers (all dry fried again)

Supper - porridge made with semi skimmed milk (I don’t normally eat supper but I’ve got insomnia at the moment and it helps me get to sleep quicker)

(If this feels like a lot, it’s because it is! I’m currently huge so, despite eating all of this, my stomach still thinks my throat has been cut! It is still under 2000 calories though)

Toooldtoworry · 11/06/2024 21:14

Had my gym weigh in. 93kg. Awful, but we need to know where we start. So 1 year to lose 26kg. Should be relatively realistic assuming I start calorie counting and going to the gym 3/4 times per week.

Lilith666 · 11/06/2024 22:08

I didn't realise at first that you were all halfway through! Have had two good days, lots of salad and fresh veg, chicken stir fry for dinner, no sweets or wine.

I've just started, don't worry! Plus I'm on a 12 month weight loss plan.

Glenthebattleostrich · 12/06/2024 06:29

So far so good this week. 2.5 mile walk on Monday, dance class last night and currently at about 38000 steps for the week. Planning another walk tonight plus dog walks so should be at around 17000 steps for today. Food is good and mood is improving. current weight 204lb, stomach looks better. I need to do my measurements so I can see the inch loss.

Troubledoor1 · 12/06/2024 07:07

Hello! Yesterday was a good day, went to the supermarket on the way to work and got all the things I need for lunches all week. I also managed a 25 minute swim.

lairyfights9 · 12/06/2024 09:22

30ds day 26 ✅
Weighed 11st9 this morning. Which is only 2lb since I joined the thread 2 weeks ago, but I guess it's something still.

Had my protein smoothie for breakfast and going to have leftover paella for lunch.

Good luck today all

Toooldtoworry · 12/06/2024 14:07

Gym this lunchtime (2hrs as working late). Been good food wise and I've booked in with a nutritionist through work to get diet under control.

Beezknees · 12/06/2024 15:39

Afternoon all. Day 17 and just weighed in at 12st 12lbs. That's 1lb down from last week and 4lbs overall since starting on May 27th. Didn't have a great food week last week so I'm OK with a 1lb loss.

BMI is now exactly at 30 so I'm super close to going from obese to just overweight, hurrah!

Well done to everyone on your progress, every little counts.

I'll be continuing psst the 30 days as I have 3 stones to lose so I'll be sticking around on the thread!

weaseleyes · 12/06/2024 16:06

Yes, 30 days is just a kick start for me. I need to keep going for long enough to shed a fair bit more!
