He took them "out" today. All day so I could have a break, he said nothing about going to see his mum.(I don't trust her and have never wanted our children left with her) He comes home looking sheepish MIL has only f gone and pierced my baby daughters ears.

I have been screaming at him for almost 3 hours and am still fuming with rage.

He keeps telling me to take them out if I am so bothered.

I am going to show him this thread so if you all flame me he'll think he is off the hook.

BTW can anyone tell me if it's ok to take them out, they are very bloody and I'm so worried she is mutilated for life

theUrbanDryegg · 24/03/2008 21:10

oh. my. god.

i'd be phoning the police and asking for her to be charged with assault of a minor. or i'd be thinking about it and threatening it!

no you are in no way being unreasonable. take them out and make sure you keep them as clean as you can. how old is your dd.

so very and for you.

scorpio1 · 24/03/2008 21:11

carol3 · 24/03/2008 21:11

yes take them out hopefully they will heal

theUrbanDryegg · 24/03/2008 21:12

she's the same age as my ds!

i'd be phoning the police.

fuck.

indiechick · 24/03/2008 21:12

Take them out and wash them with cotton wool and slightly salted water. Daily for a few days. They'll heal up pretty quickly. As for dp, God knows, you really need to set some boundaries for him and his mother

Ooooh trashy and painful and it's not her place to do that!!!!

I'd be furious.

How dare she not ask you?????????

That really beggars belief tbh.

RosaIsRed · 24/03/2008 21:12

Personally I would take her to the GP tomorrow and have them take them out.

HooversBrokenAgain · 24/03/2008 21:12

I cannot talk to her. I HATE her for what she has done. She has been on and on at me and knows I did not want to do it.

I love my husband very much. I don't want to leave him but this is the final straw for her.

yanbu
ifact you are being very reasonable as you have hit her or him.

ShinyDysonHereICome · 24/03/2008 21:12

Was he there when it was done/did he know she was planning to get it done?

I really would be mad...in fact I am FEELING mad on your behalf!

Where was it done? Might be an idea to check it was somewhere reputable.....

kid · 24/03/2008 21:13

From reading the title I was going to say YABU, but after reading what she has done, you are definitely not being unreasonable. How dare she!

BrownSuga · 24/03/2008 21:13

You can take them out, they normally just close up again.

scorpio1 · 24/03/2008 21:13

Was he not there? What does he think he was doing letting that happen ?!?

Sorry, to be clear, take the earrings out and wash the ears with slightly salted warm water.
