Please settle an argument for me.

DH and I are both trying to improve our diets on the run up to Christmas, cutting down on booze, making food swaps etc.

This evening he has sat down in front of the television with a carrot instead of a bag of crisps. I know, I should be praising him right?

It’s just that I can’t forget my mother telling me that carrots are high in sugar and therefore not a diet food.
They also have suggestive connotations due to their phallic shape and I think if he is going to insist upon eating carrots he could at least cut them up so that they resemble something less crude.

He’s told me I’m barking mad.

But am I?

The worst thing about this is he's eating whole raw carrots while watching tv. How can you hear the tv?? The noise would make me want to hurl the carrot across the room.

I honestly go a bit mad when people talk about healthy foods, fruit and good fats like they are as bad as junk food. I listened to lectures from people who did slimming world saying they were staying away from avocados, bananas, apples, tinned fish and a range of other foods until they’d lost x amount of weight. They also gave up most foods/ milk that had calcium in them and urged me to do the same when I said I was cutting down on junk food.

Alot of fruit and veg have sugars in, but fruit sugar is a little different than processed white sugar. Also, it depends how much.

Carrots are good for your eyesight, unless you poke yourself in the eye with them. Very dangerous vegetables op , be careful out there.
