Woman showing entire bum in public when bending over - what would you have done?

I was in the queue to pay in clothes shop today, standing behind a woman with her friend, both with babies in prams. It was outrageously hot and so she was wearing a short denim skirt that was pulled up high and a vest top. Obviously nothing wrong with that, however she bent over a few times to get things out of the basket under the pram and in doing do flashed her entire bum and thong. There were also mirrors to the side and behind us, so presumably this was also reflected to the entire shop. It was a proper full moon, not just a bit of bum cheek.

It didn’t seem as though she had noticed and her friend couldn’t see from her angle. I couldn’t help thinking that if I was in that scenario that I’d want to know. However I didn’t say anything because it’s none of my business and I didn’t want to embarrass her. Also maybe she knew and didn’t care 🤷🏻‍♀️

But, what would you have done/wanted someone else to do if you were in that situation? I do live up north in a place where strangers do talk to each other regularly FYI!

YABU - I should have quietly told her that her bum was exposed to the shop

I told my friend once about her flashing every time she bent over and she was mortified!
She was also wearing a pad with wings and black knickers so it was very obvious.

My friend also told me that my leggings were see through and I was wearing no knickers.
I’m very glad she told me as i immediately tied my jumper round my waist.

If it’s a friend I would definitely say something.
If it was a stranger I’d want to say something but say it in a lighthearted way to not embarrass them.

Most people would be mortified to know that they were flashing, especially when it only takes one idiot to pull out their phone and get a photo.

Sounds like there’s a lot of men on here tonight with the ‘she knew what she was doing/she was doing it on purpose’ comments.

I have done that exact same thing! The poor girl was nearly at the high street and which was full of school kids. She went bright red but I think was grateful.

I would definitely say something, there's a lot of disgusting men out there.

Seen a few very young teen girls wearing extremely short shorts recently, including on public transport going up stairs where you practically saw her tonsils. Showing most of their arse seems to be a new thing, a new low. We all have bums, is what people are going to say. But if a bloke was jailing with his crack showing I would be equally appalled.

Who wants to sit on a chair where a bare arse has been sitting. I think naturists even put a towel down when they sit.

I'd assume she liked the look of the skirt when briefly stood in front of a mirror/ grabbing an outfit at home from her pre-baby clothes, not that she knows what she's doing wearing a skirt that short and gets a kick out of bending over to tend to her baby. The woman is probably still getting used to motherhood and what clothes work well with all the physical demands of looking after babies- I doubt that how she looks bending over in shops has much of her headspace right now.

I'd say if someone had a skirt tucked in at the back which is obviously anaccident but not in this situ which as described seems like a choice they know they're Making.

I'm old but when I was young mini skirts, hot pants and short shorts were all the rage and you knew if you bent over that anyone could see what you had for breakfast.

I wouldn’t have said anything but would have loved someone to have told me on the day I was wandering around town all day with high waisted jeans and the zip all the way down flashing the world biggest fucking Batman pants of all time (they were super comfortable but really not for the world to see 😂)

I would let her get on with it. She must have bent over the pram several times before going into the shop.

Ah but it's liberating for women to do this and they should be allowed to dress/show what they like. It's only flashing, or creepy or "involving other people in your fetish" if its a bloke.

Yep saw this recently. My brother who was with me was gawd what are men meant to do. Look or not look. But her entire arse was out and we were catching train Just wear some clothes that cover your arse.

Bums seem to be far more on show these days. About two years ago I took my kids swimming and I was mortified for a teen with her arse showing. It was a thing Bikini. She must have been about 15.
my 14 year old kids said that was normal (I would NEVEr let them wear that)

Also to clarify the Batman pants were a very big and very thick cotton so nothing was on show other than my shame 😂

I can't believe you took the trouble to write this post tbh and sounds like you were a bit pissed off with her for not giving a toss. But if she wants to show her bum to the world, let her. She could surely tell her bum was on show. Perhaps that's what pissed you off!

Oh I know this one: if men notice, or look, or react in any way including objecting then they perverts, probably predatory and definitely they are the problem.

I really wouldn't have been bothered enough to say something. She chose to wear a short skirt so obviously didn't care.

In this case I would have said nothing because she had chosen very skimpy clothes and probably did not care who saw what. I would just stare thoughtfully in a different direction until the moon was eclipsed by her skirt.

It would be totally different if she had a longer skirt caught up in her pants and was accidentally giving everyone an eyeful - I would tell her immediately in that case.

I've seen an enormous number of bottom flashers in the past 2 weeks - most in short flouncy type dresses. I haven't told anyone - been driving for most. They've all had knickers on though rather than thongs. I think people are more cautious when wearing short tight things - less risk aware in flouncy numbers. See through leggings are an even bigger dilemma.

If I was positioned in a way where I could have told her quietly so that no one else would hear, I would have let her know, for her sake. Something along the lines of "I don't mean to embarrass you but thought you might want to know that when you lean over your skirt doesn't cover your rear at all." Because I would want to know.

But if that wasn't possible I probably wouldn't have said anything because the last thing someone who doesn't want to be flashing wants is for someone to announce it to everyone else.
