Anyone else hate this weather

Too hot to walk far with the buggy like I usually do to keep toddler confined and occupied. She's too young to enjoy the pool, she likes it for about 10 minutes then just gets out and crawls on the concrete. Super guilt for just sitting indoors doing nothing because it's so glorious outside. And the last straw...I'm in thick leggings and a baggy thick top because I'm too fat to get my legs and belly out. Humbug.

Yes hate this weather don’t mind a few days but not constant for months. Too hot to go anywhere spent ages filling a pool yesterday for my kids to tell me they don’t want to go in it because they don’t want to get wet 🙄

Quveas · 11/06/2023 13:58

No.

I have a large, long haired dog. Winter is torture. Mud, so much mud. Love going for a long walk in the country and not being arse deep in slippery mud. Not having to deal with a serious clear up job is a gift from the universe.

Is it not too hot for your dog today? Unless you went early this morning or late tonight.

OP, take the leggings off! Are you mad?! A wide pair of linen pants is surely plus size friendly.

Yes I though you were going to say the muggy cloudy weather and humidity.

But sorry - I love the sunshine for months on end! I do have masses of empathy for those who don't though. It's not nice being uncomfortable day in and day out for months on end.

Dog was walked at 6 as I have a busy day (important interview on Tues)

With a passion.
I genuinely don't understand people that enjoy feeling hot and sweaty.
Big fat pass from me.

I live for the colder seasons.

I’m with ya

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 11/06/2023 14:07

I like it to a degree, I don't like the muggy hot air that doesn't seem to piss off till September though.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/06/2023 14:08

I don't like it when it's muggy. Yesterday was breezy and dry and lovely and I sat in the garden all day.

Today is muggy and like walking through treacle, really unpleasant.

Recently lost a significant amount of weight and has made no difference to heat sensitivity. I thrive in colder months!

I love it when it's sunny and warm as even though its usually humid too can enjoy it too! But miserable when you get the negatives but not the positives.

RedToothBrush · 11/06/2023 14:12

It's ok for a few days. But this is too long and too much for me.

I really wanted thunderstorms yesterday. My garden needs rain. It was forecast but didn't happen. The humidity is awful.

They were forecast again for today but the latest I've seen is they aren't happening again.

Now it's apparently due tomorrow. I'm not holding breath.

surejan24 · 11/06/2023 14:12

I think if I were free to just chill in the garden alone with a nice cold drink I'd feel differently. But toddlers and this weather are a nightmare. She won't keep a hat on. She gets even more irritable than usual. You'd think stripping her off and letting her run round the garden would be fine but no, she just gets into things she shouldn't and gets bored of everything I put out.

I'm fat, hot, sweaty, stressed and feeling guilty because the weather is nice and we should be doing something but aren't.

There's no weather to worry about here, overcast and light breeze, doesn't feel not or cold

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/06/2023 14:14

Really don't understand people who don't dress appropriately for the weather though, there are so many options these days,it's ridiculous to wear winter clothes on a day like this.

SalviaDivinorum · 11/06/2023 14:15

It's raining here and has been all day.

No chilling in the garden possible - just when I have a day off and would really enjoy sitting in the sun. It's been a long cold winter and I've been longing for some heat and sun. And now it's raining.

itsgettingweird · 11/06/2023 14:15

Maybe the strategy is to toddler proof your garden, then you sit in the paddling pool whilst she meanders Grin

If you burn as easily as I do, then not covering up isn't an option.

Thesunnymood · 11/06/2023 14:17

Year has 4 seasons. Summer is normally in most places more than a day... Including uk!
I don't understand how can brits still not deal with 25c when it's EVERY year🙈

Will sound bit mean but from former fat, thick leggings and thick tshirt will not hide the fat so just do what people in summer do and put on some light clothes.

Soapyspuds · 11/06/2023 14:17

No I will take this over winter every time. I just try to avoid the mid day sun in the high twenties and above.

Worries me when I see some people enclosing their child in a push chair or pram with a muslin or blanket and so trapping the heat.

There are summer cover options.
