Anyone else hate this weather

Too hot to walk far with the buggy like I usually do to keep toddler confined and occupied. She's too young to enjoy the pool, she likes it for about 10 minutes then just gets out and crawls on the concrete. Super guilt for just sitting indoors doing nothing because it's so glorious outside. And the last straw...I'm in thick leggings and a baggy thick top because I'm too fat to get my legs and belly out. Humbug.

I don't mind this kind of weather as long as I don't have to do anything in it. So no work, shopping, doing anything in a hurry etc. And as long as it cools down at night so I can sleep.

If you burn as easily as I do, then not covering up isn't an option.

HTH.

I burn within minutes so need to cover up too but wouldn't wear thick clothing on a hot day and be even more uncomfortable.

Really don't understand people who don't dress appropriately for the weather though, there are so many options these days,it's ridiculous to wear winter clothes on a day like this.

Fairly one dimensional view of things there. I'm very body conscious. I don't feel confident in many things and have a pretty set uniform of leggings and tops that I feel ok in. Consequently there isn't much else in my wardrobe and I haven't had the time or money to do a full summer shop for things I'll probably hate myself in anyway. HTH.

Too hot.
Don't like.

Walked dog this morning very early. Now he's on his back showing me his balls .. which is nice.

Meanwhile I'm stripped to a vest and shorts and sat in front of a fan feeling filthy from sweat .. which is nice.

Every time I lean forward I can feel ski peeling from the fabric of my sofa .. which is nice.

I like it between 10c and 15c weather.

RavenT · 11/06/2023 14:20

As I've got older I much prefer autumn and winter,....
This weather makes me lethargic.
Just purchased a neck fan to try this year.

Thesunnymood · 11/06/2023 14:18

There are summer cover options.
Hth

Which cost money.

That not everyone has.

Or feels remotely comfortable in.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 11/06/2023 14:21

I absolutely hate it. And this is just the beginning...

Roll on autumn.

I think thats my feeling too.

It's bareable ATM.

Last August was horrendous.

I need water for my garden too.

Looks like people don't feel comfortable even in the warm clothes 🤷
It is like standing outside in december in tank top and moan it's cold.

Surely there is a summer version of what you normally wear? Thin leggings instead of thick or linen trousers, lighter tops etc that are cooler but still covering. You're at home, wear cotton pajamas ,you'll be a lot come comfortable.

rileynexttime · 11/06/2023 14:24

I don't hate it ,but oh how I wish it were a bright cold autumn/winter/spring day .

Cellapie · 11/06/2023 14:24

Nope love it. Not any hotter than this though (24 C). Waited a damn long winter for this (currently lay out in garden!) looking after a menagerie of animals when it's warm and dry is a darn sight easier than endless bloody mud and cold.

Oh yes, that would be lovely !

Runnersandtoms · 11/06/2023 14:24

I love the sun as long as I can cool off either in the sea (i live near) or with a paddling pool or waterfight or similar.

I definitely have no sympathy on the clothes front, , just wear whatever is comfortable, there's no rules about what you can wear based on your body shape. A big light floaty dress or thin wide trousers would be much more sensible. You don't have to wear a crop top and booty shorts to feel cooler!

I can cope with 24,just! Struggling a bit with 30 here though.

Runnersandtoms · 11/06/2023 14:26

Also if you're at home, who cares what you wear?
Walk around in cotton PJ's or a bra and pants if you want!

Absolutely agree with this.

I also hate the ‘expectation’ that we’re meant to enjoy the hot weather and be out and about doing stuff.

Be prepared for comments that anything over 40 degrees isn’t hot 🙄. (Anything over 20 degrees is uncomfortable for me - and yea, I do dress appropriately.)

Yer that's too much. I start worrying about animals then. It was hell in that 39.5c heat last year trying to keep animals cool. This is fine though, they're all lounging around like me 😅

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 11/06/2023 14:31

I absolutely love it. It’s been a very long cold winter and a cold spring. I hope it stays like this for months.

I don't like that expectation either.

DuesToTheDirt · 11/06/2023 14:34

It's been rubbish here, so I'm hating "this weather", which until the last couple of days has been cloudy with a cold wind!

FatCatBum · 11/06/2023 14:40

Really hate it, I hate feeling sweaty and uncomfortable and not being able to sleep, while still having to live normal life (its different on holiday)

AllGussiedUp · 11/06/2023 14:43

I don’t like it, it’s about 30 here. I like Spring and Autumn. We have air con units so at least the house is cool. Best purchases ever!

stopbeingadock · 11/06/2023 14:43

God, I love it.

I hope it goes on from now until October. But I detest autumn and winter with an all-consuming passion.

OP, I bought a huge very thin long-sleeved cotton shirt in a charity shop the other day for £4. Surely you could wear something like that with your leggings?

I wear an ancient and very thin t shirt and cotton pyjama shorts in this weather if I'm just at home.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 11/06/2023 14:46

Don't be a martyr in thick top and leggings. Get yourself some summer dresses, they cover a multitude of sins.
