To think it’s already getting too hot…

I am already starting to get hot! I think after a long cold winter of blankets on and no heating, we are all used to much lower temperatures. I know we’ve not even hit the 20’s yet but honest to god, I’m sat at home with a fan on full right on me. No idea how I am going to survive when it gets any hotter. I hate the summer and am just thankful that our ‘warm’ period seems to be reduced this year as sometimes by now we’ve had blaring heat!

Hertfordshire here, we got up to 14c today, it’s damp and overcast and the washing is not drying.
Even if it was 20c that’s not not just pleasant.

RavenclawDiadem · 13/05/2023 16:36

Lovely and warm about 22c this afternoon in Glasgow, but it was chilly and overcast when I got up this morning.

People who are moaning about it being "too hot" when it's low 20s really do have something wrong with them.

DannyZukosSmile · 13/05/2023 16:36

I agree with others @JolanDolan1 are you ill? Are you running a fever? Are you menopausal? Coz it is NOT hot! YANBU to say YOU are hot, but YABU to say it is GETTING TOO HOT. FFS. 😆

Where are you that the temperature is in the 20s? Marrakesh?! Confused

OhmygodDont · 13/05/2023 16:37

We had a nice day the other day at 21 but now back to highs of 15 and lows of 7. Can’t wait for actual dry and warmth rather than this rain we have had all bloody week.

Tulipvase · 13/05/2023 16:37

Oxfordshire. Was meant to be 19 degrees and sunny but is about 13 degrees with a chilly breeze and cloudy. I lit the fire last night but that’s mainly because I love it.

Was warm in the sun a couple of days ago though.

MsRosley · 13/05/2023 16:38

Christ, there's just no pleasing some people.

DannyZukosSmile · 13/05/2023 16:39

I bet the OP is the same type of person who puts the heating on full blast 24/7, as soon as the temperature drops below 14C outside, and then complains about their enormous electricity bill. 😂

Kfjsjdbd · 13/05/2023 16:40

London based and was about to start a thread about how miserable the cold weather is making me. I can’t handle much more of freezing days and my big winter coat.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 13/05/2023 16:41

SE and barely 13 degrees, grey and overcast.

Ready for some 20 degree weather, mostly to dry clothes outside!

I don't like really got weather, anything above 25C and I'm not a happy bunny but I do want it warmer than it is now.

itwillonlygetbetter · 13/05/2023 16:41

It's freezing. Have sat by the radiator all afternoon. South east.

Frogsdinner · 13/05/2023 16:42

Don't fret, it's just 5 weeks until the longest day and then the nights will start drawing in.

sotiredandburntout · 13/05/2023 16:42

@IamAlso4eels

Wonder if you're more towards the coast than I am? It can be chillier the closer you get that way!

Theygolowwegohigh · 13/05/2023 16:43

Where do you live?! I'm sat with an oodie on to warm myself up!! 😳

That's such a depressing thought.

TheDogsMother · 13/05/2023 16:44

Also SE and I'm sitting in hot sunshine wearing a light cotton summer dress and flip flops. Oh and sun cream.

Did you not spot in the OP that they had no heating on over winter?

EmpressSoleil · 13/05/2023 16:49

I had a long coach journey yesterday (bloody train strikes) and I swear they had the heating on. By the end of it I felt really unwell. At the end I burst into the fresh air like my life depended on it!

Honestly at the moment I am just enjoying not having to put £30 in the gas meter every week so I can’t really complain. It’s saying 17 in my lounge at the moment so not really hot. I’m in London.

Allthings · 13/05/2023 16:50

Since peri, I can no longer tolerate heat. Previously, I was in the hotter the better camp. Now I am quite happy at 18 degrees, but once it gets above 20 I feel really grim.

How depressing

EmmaGrundyForPM · 13/05/2023 16:51

it was overcast this morning but I'm now sitting in the garden in a t shirt, eating ice cream as it's quite hot. I wouldn't say too hot though!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/05/2023 16:51

South London - 13 degrees, cloudy and a chilly breeze. Not even a bit warm lol (not that I like hot weather)

Vicliz24 · 13/05/2023 16:51

I'm sat in a fleece and uggs it's freezing in Nottingham. I'm desperate for a bit of warmth.

TeenLifeMum · 13/05/2023 16:53

So happy summer is coming!

StaunchMomma · 13/05/2023 16:54

Freezing around South Midlands today. Fully bone-shiveringly cold!

VickyEadieofThigh · 13/05/2023 16:54

It's 15C here. Bog off with "It's too hot".
