To think it’s already getting too hot…

I am already starting to get hot! I think after a long cold winter of blankets on and no heating, we are all used to much lower temperatures. I know we’ve not even hit the 20’s yet but honest to god, I’m sat at home with a fan on full right on me. No idea how I am going to survive when it gets any hotter. I hate the summer and am just thankful that our ‘warm’ period seems to be reduced this year as sometimes by now we’ve had blaring heat!

It's nice and sunny in Bristol but still a bit chilly. At least I might get some allotmenting done this weekend. My seedlings will stay on windowsill for now though.

Xmasbaby11 · 13/05/2023 16:01

It was cold last night and I had my heated throw on again!

but today is nice, sunny and warm. I wouldn’t say too warm but it takes our house a lot to warm up so it’s only 15 inside.

Springissprunging · 13/05/2023 16:02

North Wales and its very warm here, we've been having to pick the shady spots in the garden it's been too warm in the full sun

its a glorious day though but may is often warm. I got married 13 years ago in May and it was boiling hot then too

FrostyFifi · 13/05/2023 16:03

Too hot?! Today's the first day I haven't had to have my Big Cardigan on for months, which is nice, but we're a good 15+ degrees off Too Hot territory.

Alconleigh · 13/05/2023 16:04

East Midlands and it's blimmin cold. Heating kicked in, washing not drying, the works. As I moved out of the south east 3 days ago I hope the good weather moves up here shortly 😀

Sissynova · 13/05/2023 16:05

No, I don’t think mid to occasionally high teens is roasting hot, sitting at home with a fan weather at all.

There’s probably something wrong with you if you do. It’s not a normal temperature perception.

HowsAnnie25 · 13/05/2023 16:05

I’m also in the East Midlands and yes it’s a chilly 13 degrees here.

Bairnsmum05 · 13/05/2023 16:05

Ooh a lovely 18 degrees here in Scotland so definitely shorts and Tshirt weather here.🌞

JolanDolan1 · 13/05/2023 16:08

Not sure planet what you lot are living on telling me to fuck off. How bloody rude just because our bodies react differently to warmer weather.

I am boiling and trying to stay cool. It is in the 20’s now and that’s what many consider to be warm weather, so not sure where this horrible language has come from.

We are in mid Wales and it’s 20 degrees. Unbroken sunshine all day. It’s lovely.

MissBPotter · 13/05/2023 16:09

I’m absolutely freezing here in Essex today, was forecast to be warm and sunny but it’s full and freezing. I’m desperate for some warmer weather (not 40 degrees though).

Peridot1 · 13/05/2023 16:09

18 and sunny here in Hampshire. Looks lovely but the breeze is chilly I think. I was out doing some stuff in the garden with DH. He was in a tshirt and I am in warm leggings and a sweatshirt.

It will hopefully be a bit warmer tomorrow and we are hoping to bbq for first time this year.

Rainydaysgetmedown · 13/05/2023 16:09

11 degrees here. Just put. Jumper on

Bathroomlove · 13/05/2023 16:11

SE. This morning at a friends, I was on the third floor of the house and too hot in a t shirt & long sleeve t shirt. Feel sick kind of hot, took long sleeve t shirt off & still felt too hot.

I'm at home now near Wokingham and I'm bloody freezing. The sun has finally peeped out, but it's only weak. Washing is looking drier an the patio has dried out, but I'm really cold.

I'm diabetic and my bloods aren't well controlled at the moment, so I overheat a lot, especially at night. Already having to sleep naked with the windows wide open. So being 'cold' is unusual. It's all over the place.

missbunnyrabbit · 13/05/2023 16:11

17 degrees here and it's too hot in the sun, but also a bit chilly in the shade!

Paperlate · 13/05/2023 16:11

Chance would be a fine thing. It's chilly and grey here. I long for 20 degree heat.

namechange1986 · 13/05/2023 16:11

Come to Scotland ... you'll be cooler here.

FheridanSox · 13/05/2023 16:11

16 degrees where I am today but it’s cloudy so it doesn’t feel too hot. The clothes are drying on the line and I’m sitting reading a book in the garden with a cardigan on. Tomorrow is supposed to be 21 and sunny all day so I’m looking forward to that! I’m in the SE

threecupsofteaminimum · 13/05/2023 16:13

I'm warm but I think thats down to being peri menopausal!

Maraudingmarauders · 13/05/2023 16:13

Cotswolds and gone outside to sit in the sun but still in a big jumper! The sun is nice but the air is still very cool. I'm praying for mid 20s and dry ground, I'm so sick of mud!!!

Gtsr443 · 13/05/2023 16:13

Heating on in East Anglia.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/05/2023 16:14

Quite chilly still in London.

Obviously it will vary throughout the country, but would be surprised if anywhere has reached “too hot” ( 30s?) yet!

Goodyetalso · 13/05/2023 16:14

It’s about 20 here and an absolutely beautiful day. I generally dislike summer and don’t like being too hot but anything up to and including around 25 is nice. Above that and I start to feel sick and very uncomfortable. I’m just glad to see some sunshine, clean skies and no rain after a very long time of the opposite. It’s nice to be wearing a dress and sandals today instead of jeans and a jumper and still feeling chilly.

TheChosenTwo · 13/05/2023 16:15

20 degrees today here where I am in the SE, it’s absolutely not what I would class as quite warm, far from it! It’s pleasant but I’m wearing leggings, vest and a big sweatshirt. Just unloaded the mountain of dds return from uni stuff from the back of the car and I’m not feeling warm for it.
Going to sit in the garden in a minute with my book, might take a blanket with me just in case!

Missingmyusername · 13/05/2023 16:15

Very hot in Wales- also had enough! Flies coming in from the woods at the back of the house.
YANBU! I’ve been loving the lack of sun!
