£3k for 1 Week in the LAKES!

£3k
1 week
August Holiday

Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help.

Booking our second holiday for the 6 week break.

We're having our big holiday in May to Ikos, and so for this holiday I was thinking of a week in the Lakes to our usual spot;

Lodge
Hot tub
Village location

But its £2k for a week in August and we will need a grand for spends and £3k for a week in the lakes seems ridiculous.

Any ideas on what we can do with a £3k budget?

I'm tempted by another all inclusive abroad, but obviously a lot less luxurious than Ikos (as at least it would mean guaranteed sun and I'm not having to cook or unload a dishwasher for a week!)

It's because you have left it too late , I love the lakes but anywhere is going to be pricey in August and not booking like a year in advance, so many lovely places other than Lakes though , depends how far you want to travel or where you are ( incase i suggest your area) you could try a different part of the lakes , another comment said Northumberland or Scotland I agree definitely with them I love Scotland , booked both for this year and next, a year in advance as no children but chosen to go school holiday time various reasons but usually try to avoid, When my children were younger always booked holidays for end August/ beginning Sept just before they went back to school as its cheaper than. ,,Good luck with your search, def try avoiding hot tub noticed how much more a place with one Is , also look at South West or Wales its nice to go abroad but I think having a holiday in UK is also lovely to see what's on your doorstep so to speak

Going back to Olivia, we went last year and loved it!

I would of tried another but we're only doing a week this time so didn't want to waste any time "settling"

Totally off topic I know but we stayed at the Oceania again and used the option of going to the Olivia for a day visit(we'd stayed at the Aria on Kos and the Oceania in 2019and had booked Aria and Olivia for 2020 but of course were cancelled). I wasn't that keen. I wasn't expecting the buildings to be so spread out and not on the beach. Ice Cream counter was nice though Grin

That is crazy. Whereabouts in Wales?

Before covid I'd come to Scotland every couple of years for 10 days and stay with a friend. I paid for shops and meals out, payed my way. I take £1,000 with me.

Go abroad if the airports are running properly.
